- AndrewDB, on 04/22/2008, -2/+17This, again? For the 3rd, or 4th time?.. Jesus.
- LucasVB, on 04/22/2008, -4/+9Buried as ***** fearmongering over science. It won't happen. Get over it.
- djm101, on 04/22/2008, -2/+7I think the fact you can't see why we don't believe in God over this is the sole reason you believe in god in the first place.
aka you're scientifically inept, you're what's better known as a moron. - Meccabilly, on 04/22/2008, -3/+7Of course it will! Oh and make sure your kids don't sit to close to the computer monitors - i gather pedophiles can reach through the intertubes and grope them...
What do you mean I don't understand the principles and I'm needlessly stirring up ignorant panic? - mrlivingston, on 04/22/2008, -1/+5Reality. It was good while it lasted.
- Hangly, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3"These guys know what they are doing"
I'm not saying you're wrong, but those sound like famous last words to me. - Lone1, on 04/22/2008, -1/+4Don't Panic!
- TheZorch, on 04/22/2008, -1/+4Actually, its been proven that in Quantum Physics just observing something effects the outcome. Calculations in quantum mechanics always lead to uncertainty. Its the Heisenberg Law.
- EpicSelekta, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2Millions of people have predicted the end of the world throughout history. No one (that we know of) have been right.
- Zeigy, on 04/22/2008, -1/+3IT'S OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it was said, "A massive object that shoots light and magicery would be constructed and given life in the middle of the year beginning with a two and 4 holes (2 008) and not just the year but the machine would cast 4 holes upon the night of the upper skys, thus bringing it all down into but a tiny dot where nothing would escape.
- inactive, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2Someone eventually will be...
- TSK05, on 04/22/2008, -1/+3Anyone read The Black Cloud? Slightly related to the article.
- inactive, on 04/22/2008, -1/+3Leave the Universe alone! You are lucky it wants to exist for you!
- mrlivingston, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2No, but I saw Red Dawn like 50 times. "Wolverines!"
- NyteStarNyne, on 04/22/2008, -1/+2Hopefully i'm able to see it coming so I can rub the last one out.
- djm101, on 04/22/2008, -1/+2So you're not jesus' bitch then..? Oh wait..
- kewbert, on 04/22/2008, -3/+4.. what?
- macwac, on 04/22/2008, -2/+3And little blue people called Smurfs could jump up out of your toilet and drag you into the sewers.. the probability is there even if its low
- Hangly, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1These criticisms are coming from other particle physicists, not some school board in Kansas.
- Dystisis, on 04/22/2008, -3/+4This doesn't require "belief". God is something invented thousands of years ago by power hungry men. This, science, is something easily demonstratable.
- ORBAT, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Who knows, you might be rewarded or punished according to the way you acted in life. What a terrible thought, huh Jovensdesciple.
Oh, and you managed to spell "disciple" wrong. - inactive, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Yeah because the Castle Bravo nuclear detonation went exactly expected as well.
- leckie, on 04/22/2008, -2/+3Am I the only one sick of seeing this pop up every two weeks. Seriously this is nothing new.
- matrixbandit, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1I know I know, it's all a bunch of reactionary end of times fear mongering. Just in case, I think I'll bring my towel with me the day they first fire it up.
- LucasVB, on 04/22/2008, -2/+3Instead, you're worrying because a reporter who thought Armageddon was a good movie thinks this is likely to happen.
World's greatest scientists are working on the LHC. Dismissing all of them because of the fear of two crackpots is pretty sad. - Fartbandit, on 04/22/2008, -1/+2Stop posting this crap please... there's about as much chance as the universe just suddenly ceasing to exist tomorrow on its own accord as there is of the LHC creating a blackhole that will swallow the earth to put things into perspective... Physics calculations may show that both are possible but the chances are so beyond exceedingly remote that its not even worth mentioning. The earth has a higher chance of being destroyed to make way for a hyperspace bypass by an alien race with a love of poetry so bad that it can be used for a form of torture...
- michaelinnotts, on 04/22/2008, -2/+2Yay--another mainstream American news story that insults my intelligence.
- inactive, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1Yeah, because Madam Curie knew EXACTLY what she was dealing with, that is why she died from radiation exposure and her notebooks are still too radioactive to touch.
- kneelB4zod, on 04/22/2008, -2/+2Buried! What is this ***** article doing here?
- darienphoenix, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1Yeah, because Madam Curie knew EXACTLY what she was dealing with, that is why she died from radiation exposure and her notebooks are still too radioactive to touch.
Worst. Comparison. Ever. - inactive, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1Castle Bravo
- azra3l, on 04/22/2008, -2/+2this is NEVER going to happen. the kind of black holes produced will lack the mass to go critical, and we are talking a lifespan of miliseconds here...
- Hangly, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1I'd like to see some numbers if you don't mind.
- djm101, on 04/22/2008, -3/+2How is it unscientific? C'mon, some reasons here.
- buddamus, on 04/22/2008, -2/+1This is getting stupid, nothing is going to happen and even if it did at least it would also take out all the boy bands
- Hangly, on 04/22/2008, -3/+2Guys, I don't need to know what happened a trillionth of a second after the big bang all that much.
- goblindegook, on 04/22/2008, -2/+1What a crappy little article. The lead talks about black holes, but then it proceeds to discuss strange matter, which is altogether different (and so far completely hypothetical).
- Meccabilly, on 04/22/2008, -3/+2What are you talking about? I think you're in the wrong thread. You meant to go to the 'Liberal Atheists Believe your Mom is good in bed."
- SystemError51, on 04/22/2008, -6/+5Well. Again: those who fear that the universe is seeing its last day: it won't. And for those fearing that a black hole will swallow the Earth: Ain't gonna happen.
These guys know what they are doing. It won't bend space, neither will it bend time.
It will give us great insight into many new unknown realms of the universe. - Fartbandit, on 04/22/2008, -4/+2Anyone who believes this unscientific hyperbole needs their conspiracy theorist head examined... its ***** pure and simple...
- Cabose, on 04/22/2008, -4/+2Buried for being ***** by people that don't understand science
- mrlivingston, on 04/22/2008, -6/+3End of the world. Worth repeating.
- Vikaas, on 04/22/2008, -6/+3"Om nom nom," said the black hole to the unsuspecting universe.
- JoaoPe, on 04/22/2008, -8/+2*****
- inactive, on 04/22/2008, -8/+1And you're whats better known as a bitch. Go please another man orally.
- inactive, on 04/22/2008, -13/+3You can believe in this but you can't believe in God. What A Pity. Who knows, you might be rewarded or punished according to the way you acted in life. What a terrible thought, huh liberals.
