- jeremyduffy, on 09/30/2008, -0/+10They pretend that the moon landing never happened. Can we pretend people that dumb don't exist?
- BevansDesign, on 10/01/2008, -0/+9This article is from Popular Science. It's defending the moon landing. The article says that the moon landing happened, and it did happen, so the article is accurate.
- VIJoe, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8"the astronauts, who were put through sessions of “guilt therapy” to help deal with the deception, were actually at a strip club in Nevada the night of the moon landing."
I love the idea that they would put on this $30 billion hoax and not order-in on the talent the night that big event was supposedly happening. - DarkyP, on 10/01/2008, -0/+8The moon-walks were done early in the morning, with the sun low on the horizon. This is ideal for photography because it lights up the foreground and background evenly, but is not strong enough to wash out (too many) details. This is why everyone's shadows are very long. When it comes to the flag, which is just a 10mm pole and sheet of material (plastic? I'm not sure.), the shadow is going to be very long and thin. Easy to get hidden with rocks on the ground.
If you go here: http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/images/apollo/ ... (warning: 2.8mb image), you can see the shadow of the flag. No? Can't see it? Look carefully, off to the far right. There it is. :) I'm gonna hypothesise here that there is a mound of dust in front of the flag, preventing us from seeing it until after the astronaut.
Anyway, boss is yelling at me, I gotta get back to work. Hope this helps. Kudos on having some common sense. Stay skeptical, it's healthy. - DarkyP, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4Yeah, the biggest cover-up ever (cept for JFK, obviously), and they let the nauts roam the streets? Sure... :D
- djAnakin, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4No. They make dumb people believe it was a hoax.
- raymondmarble, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4I'd have asked for Jackie Kennedy. Just sayin'....
- BigManOnCampus, on 10/01/2008, -0/+3Just a strip club??? *****, if the Fed's were asking me to keep that big of a secret I would insist on a 3-day romp with at least 3 of the cleanest, highest-paid escorts in the nation!!
- BigManOnCampus, on 10/01/2008, -0/+2The shadow runs parallel to the astronauts shadow. For the astronaut's shadow, you cannot see anything higher than his legs shadowing the ground in this picture, and the flag is much higher than his legs are. Hence, the flag shadow is to the right, out of frame. The shadow for the pole is barely visible, parallel to the astronauts shadow.
- BigManOnCampus, on 10/01/2008, -0/+2Buried you because you completely failed to RTFA.
- mjoeyoung1, on 10/01/2008, -0/+1Prove they were in a nightclub, or evidence of this "guilt therapy".
- Sludgehammer, on 10/01/2008, -1/+2Oh thank goodness, Digg nearly had a thread without a election slap fight in it. Now, thanks to Tomchei's hard work we can haul out all the idiot copy-pasted arguments from other threads and completely ignore talking about article.
- BigManOnCampus, on 10/01/2008, -0/+1@Tomchei,
Actually, I agree with you. - Sagoober, on 10/02/2008, -0/+0RTFA before you bury it, you douche
- inactive, on 09/30/2008, -3/+3They will be voting for either McCain or Obama this election. They do exist.
- christopherRB, on 09/30/2008, -5/+5Buried because it's inaccurate. It's inaccurate because it happened. Mythbusters Proved that you hoax people are a bunch of pussies.
- sHockz, on 09/30/2008, -3/+2question: where is the shadow from the flag?
i believe we landed btw, i am just curious why it isnt showing up. by the angle of the other shadows, you should see a distinct flag shadow on the ground.... - inactive, on 09/30/2008, -5/+2those Fox shows make you believe it was a hoax
- Fhwqhgads, on 09/30/2008, -6/+3buried for lameness
- jedinate, on 09/30/2008, -7/+2People need to realize the whole reason for the space race was to figure out how to get something, accurately, into space and back again. That something was not astronauts but nuclear warheads.

What is Digg?
