- jakash, on 05/25/2009, -1/+13I can't wait for the new images Hubble is going to bring us...
- Aethra, on 05/25/2009, -0/+11It's all relative.
- Wrake, on 05/25/2009, -1/+8There must be a miniature satellite that follows Hubble around taking pictures of it for the press. Let's call it "Hobble."
- Fuzzycop, on 05/25/2009, -3/+9You miss the Hubble Space Telescope? It's still operating in orbit!
Finish the rest of your doobie and sit down before you hurt yourself, boy. - ethanator1088, on 05/25/2009, -1/+7YEAH! Fly Free Hubble!
- Aethra, on 05/25/2009, -0/+4Hubble does orbit earth. This shot is taken from the ground.
- JustinHopewell, on 05/25/2009, -2/+5So where exactly does the Hubble operate? I've always thought it was in Earth orbit, but that picture a while back of the Sun (with two specks in the lower left corner that turned out to be Atlantis and the Hubble) makes me think it must be much farther away.
This is the pic I'm referring to: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/200 ... - agolden, on 05/25/2009, -1/+4If you look at the full-size image, you can see the reflection of someone's hand holding the camera.
- annoi, on 05/25/2009, -2/+5NASA must single handedly keep Reynold's Warp in business.
- MadKevo, on 05/25/2009, -0/+2here ya go, panel with vital stats is on the right hand side:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubble_Space_Telescop ... - blankb, on 05/25/2009, -0/+2Soon you would be free Hubble
- sdotbrucato, on 05/25/2009, -0/+2The next telescope The James Webb Space Telescope will be places 1.5m km from earth at something called the Lagrange Point 2, which is an area of equal gravity between the sun and earth.
- duzey, on 05/25/2009, -1/+2And you can just barely make out the Hubble space miscroscope just over the horizon. That thing's huge! Good pic!
- rickyx2001, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1IT MUST BE THE HAND OF GOD!!!!
;) - duzey, on 05/25/2009, -1/+2I heard that the next ones going to orbit the moon. Not sure if thats completely true, but made sense when i was told
- portos12, on 05/25/2009, -2/+3Cool pics.
- badgerfight, on 05/25/2009, -1/+2...and it falls right into the sun
- JustinHopewell, on 05/25/2009, -1/+2Reynold's: First we revolutionized plastic sheets, now we've changed the face of light-speed travel!
- raza7370, on 05/25/2009, -1/+2wow ........................................
- Sharper147, on 05/26/2009, -0/+0A great pic of a great instrument.
- richirwin, on 05/25/2009, -3/+3I don't think that "floating" is the right term.
It's moving at something like 25000 km per hour.
If you were "floating" down the river at that speed, you'd have water jetting up your ass. - Karenna, on 05/26/2009, -2/+0The reflection of the telescope underneath it must be on the ionosphere! Wow.
Don't see the reflection of the shuttle or an astronaut or hand though. Where might that be exactly? - DiggDog1729, on 05/25/2009, -7/+2Free forever...miss you Hubble.
