- Vexplorer, on 10/27/2008, -4/+11l bet more than me are wondering what is the weather like inside that gigantic vortex and what elements are present. Amazing.
- zantos420, on 10/27/2008, -2/+7those pixels have got to be 5 pixels wide
- therealkdog, on 10/27/2008, -3/+7I wish you could also.
- BullHunter, on 10/27/2008, -10/+14Slightly south of Uranus
- Screwy1138, on 10/27/2008, -2/+4it's the only storm outside of earth that we've observed an eye wall... so it's mildly interesting.
- bman85, on 10/27/2008, -0/+1Why would you wish that? Maybe visit, but not live.
I'll wish for that when i see all that this one has to offer, which is impossible in one lifetime.
We live on the most interesting planet in the solar system, possibly the galaxy, possibly the universe...
Take a look... you'll be amazed. - MeatMountain, on 10/27/2008, -4/+5I wish I could live on another planet.
- lca473, on 10/27/2008, -0/+1no, I don't think they are.
- Godlike, on 10/27/2008, -1/+2The spot is a giant birthday party for superman! YEEAAAAAY SUPERMAN!!!!
- Fuzzycop, on 10/27/2008, -1/+2Looks more like Saturn has a bloodshot eye.
- Godlike, on 10/27/2008, -0/+1/wrists /wrists /necks
- zantos420, on 10/27/2008, -0/+1whoosh
- breadfred, on 10/27/2008, -2/+3If you do not have the curiosity to find out what is outside of your cave, maybe you should not have been born as a human being.
- silver26, on 10/27/2008, -2/+2and the Most Awkward Comment of the Month Award (MACMA) goes to...
- JohnLawson, on 10/27/2008, -2/+2I wish the picture would go into greater or detail.
Interesting, none the less.
In reply to mistertrogdor,
I googled what your talking about and there is an interesting article here
http://space.newscientist.com/article/dn11478-biza ...
If anyone is interested in looking at Saturn's north pole, which is different. - breadfred, on 10/27/2008, -5/+5Oh, but you can. Not very long, mind.
- Ortzmet, on 11/01/2008, -0/+0Then consider the fact that you are even smaller than those images; because you are--we all are.
- darkshadowfor, on 10/27/2008, -1/+1I guess this is just me, but all these ugly space pictures don't get me very excited.
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -3/+3Saturn's North Pole is far more unusual.
- freezerburn666, on 10/27/2008, -3/+3yeah the hexagon on the north pole is ***** up... how does that even happen *scratches head*
- takeo1775, on 10/28/2008, -1/+1http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/070327_satur ...
- avianeddy, on 02/17/2009, -2/+2"The storm is slightly larger than the entire Earth and carries winds that reach 550 kilometers per hour, twice the velocity of a Category 5 hurricane. "
gives the term Forces of Nature
a new meaning, doesn't it? - iamthenoise, on 10/27/2008, -2/+2(rotates 180 degrees) LOOK! NORTH POLE OF SATURN!
- alex7575, on 10/27/2008, -1/+1There is a reason they do that, it has to do with file sizes and all. The way the "color" in the images is to use a color chart as a "key" then have a computer rerender the image with the colors from the key chart.
- Lahonda, on 10/27/2008, -2/+2Someone should throw a match in there and see if we have a miniature sun in development here... (kidding) but, perhaps this is one way stars are nurtured and ultimately, born.
- Caspercreep, on 10/27/2008, -2/+2MMM....I really want an Oreo Blizzard now.
- SlpingInsomniac, on 10/27/2008, -2/+1Nope, same meaning.
...new perspective. - simpleid, on 10/27/2008, -2/+1alt+f4 isn't powerful enough for emo, we need /wrists for you
- SlpingInsomniac, on 10/27/2008, -2/+1So, every pixel is 5 pixels wide? You are sorely mistaken.
- jmc1029, on 10/27/2008, -2/+1Thank you therealkdog..... someone needed to say it
- directive0, on 10/27/2008, -2/+1I think technically it must be funny to be defined as a "joke", right?
- takeo1775, on 10/27/2008, -2/+1Whatabout the hexagonal storm?
- oninbonin, on 10/27/2008, -2/+0This looks like the beginning of Contra III Alien Wars.
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -3/+1English *****!
Do you speak it!? - caracter2, on 10/27/2008, -4/+2That ***** me up. I live in a cave.
- InSearchOfTruth, on 10/27/2008, -6/+3Saturn's endorsement of Obama.
- davidjunit, on 10/27/2008, -5/+2It looks like storm clouds that are up high and then drop in elevation and mix in with the atmosphere.
- jmc1029, on 10/27/2008, -4/+1Insert statement (probably copied from wikipedia) that sounds super scientific and insightful here...
Honestly.... nobody cares how much you know (or can google in 15s) about storms on Saturn..... it's just a picture...
Look, Chuckle, Digg, move on with life.... - NikoKun, on 10/27/2008, -5/+2I bet that's one powerful vortex down there... Too bad the picture isn't a higher resolution. =/
- GiJoeBob, on 10/27/2008, -11/+6My God, it's full of boring!
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -6/+1i thought the south pole of a Saturn had tail lights
- caracter2, on 10/27/2008, -8/+3Sometimes... these pics bore me
- fuzzlepop, on 10/27/2008, -9/+3i just wacked of to it
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -7/+1beneath the treeeee of heaaaaavvven!
- xsecretfiles, on 10/27/2008, -9/+3Come on NASA, black and white pics are soooooo ages ago....
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -10/+3SCI-FAGS cant take a joke
- Godlike, on 10/27/2008, -10/+3Climb your mom.
- Godlike, on 10/27/2008, -9/+2No matter how dull my office is on this dark and cloudy day, the south pole of Saturn is even duller.
I don't know if I can handle this. It's like finding out that there's something more final than death, or more boring than carrot top.

What is Digg?
