- moredown, on 11/16/2009, -2/+10Explanation: What's happening at the center of spiral galaxy M83? Just about everything, from the looks of it. M83 is one of the closest spiral galaxies to our own Milky Way Galaxy and from a distance of 15 million light-years, appears to be relatively normal. Zooming in on M83's nucleus with the latest telescopes, however, shows the center to be an energetic and busy place.
- dzneill, on 11/16/2009, -1/+8Hubble has been amazing, I can't wait to see what the Webb telescope will show us.

- punksnotddeadd, on 11/16/2009, -2/+5Dugg for M83. Best band ever
- jonmac, on 11/16/2009, -2/+4We own the sky.
- tenbosch, on 11/16/2009, -1/+3There's another dot in there. Another dot harboring life.
- RealmDown, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2Gotta make room for expansion.
- k7jeb, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2It would have been nice if some of this text had appeared in the original Digg, along with a thumbnail image. Two stars for getting the date and title right, though.
- hyperblackchi, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2The picture is so detailed you can see the gravity well itself...
- Mujokan, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2I could only find 59 of them.
- Mujokan, on 11/16/2009, -1/+2I always find something kind of hopeful about images of galactic evolution.
- detcade, on 11/16/2009, -2/+2Statistically, there are probably more like twelve dots
- KevinRowz, on 11/16/2009, -6/+1Better watch it with that APOD acronym, or they might get a nasty letter from Apple. Not to mention that a space scene has been the default wallpaper in the two past versions of OS X, and there is a desktop management feature in OS X called Spaces. Steve Jobs has basically trademarked all things space when he patented the space between is nutsack and *****.
