- alaynapaige, on 07/01/2008, -1/+11What an astonishing array of colors. Man, the universe just continues without end to amaze me. Once again, I'm in awe of the beauty of nature.... :) and I absolutely LOVE it!
But also, the descriptions and information I gain from these images is great, too.
I love learning new things, and I'm only 14 so I don't know alot yet. So keep it coming APOD!
:D - radiantstorm, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4Utterly beautiful.
- Bactame, on 07/01/2008, -1/+5This image NGC 6979 is also known as Fleming's Nebula since she discovered it and Pickering didn't. Fleming worked in Pickering's observatory. This sure is a handsome image of the nebula because of its intricate detail and imagery. The Witch's broom is nearby off camera.
- matt510, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Here is another image of Pickering's Triangle with some different coloring: http://www.tvdavisastropics.com/astroimages-1_0000 ...
- RapidEye, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2The entire Veil Nebula Complex is one of the most amazing and beautiful objects in the northern skies - truely outstanding. I like using my 10" F/5 Dob with a 30mm Pentax EP and an OIII filter. Best I've ever seen was in an 20" Obsession with a 30mm Leitz Observatory Grade EP with an OIII filter. But even in a 4" scope from a dark sky, this is a fun object....
- perlabsrat, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2My God, its full of stars...
- c4sh, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2Behold...the Universe.
- ultraJesus, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2Space is cool.
- twilitezone, on 07/01/2008, -3/+5Its cool how one can see images within the image; for example, I see a horse (or something like it) at the bottom of the cloud, a panther (or cat) just above the horse, a mouth in the top right corner… Hey! Is that the pumpkin scarecrow running away from the crazed looking horse! Haha, now I know where he hides when Halloween is over.
- CobaltBlue, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2You post this same message every day. So are you a troll, an idiot or just a douche?
There are many reasons to have daily APOD postings on Digg. Here are just three.
1. People like to discuss the images. There is no place to discuss them on the APOD webpage.
2. Some people like to come to Digg rather than use RSS feeds.
3. Some people like to share their hobby of astronomy. They like to see new people come to this site and see amazing astronomy pictures that might give them that love of astronomy.
So, I ask you again, are you a troll, an idiot or just a douche? - SpinCaster, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1USW - The ultimate shock wave!!
- bouche, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1I'll answer that for you. You are a putz.
- DickMasterson2, on 07/01/2008, -1/+2SECOND!!!
- Harloquin, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1When I look at this image, I see a 3-D triangle. If this happened around 5500 BC, and it was as bright as a crescent moon, do you think those Egyptians might have gotten the idea to build pyramids from seeing it in the sky? How long does it take Veil Nebula light to get to Earth?
- OropheR, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1I've got no words.
- bouche, on 07/01/2008, -3/+1I've got news for you. There is an RSS feed for the APOD photos that you can subscribe to and spare us on digg from seeing APOD every single frikkin' day.
Who's going to help me bury these? I can't be the only one that sees how ridiculous the APOD post daily to digg is. - orlandirafael, on 07/01/2008, -3/+0That's a High Res SPORE screenshot

- n064, on 07/01/2008, -7/+1I really have no clue why all these APOD things make it on thing, i mean 1 or 2 is col but after a while they get real old.
