- Rhendal, on 01/12/2009, -0/+12I'm at work otherwise I'd look it up so the guys who are digging you down understand what you're referring to, so I'll try to explain the best I can.
A while back there was a post on a message board with this picture. After a few people talking about how beautiful/awesome/amazing it is, someone said they were gonna make it their new wallpaper. Some guy goes "it's mine right now!" and posted a screenshot of his wallpaper. Someone noticed a folder on his desktop titled "Shemale Vids." The thread went on for pages making fun of it and that guy never posted there again. - paloooz, on 01/12/2009, -0/+11http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Kid_redefines_self_pwnag ...

- gaapgod, on 01/12/2009, -3/+10Two words:
New Wallpaper. - Kristijan12, on 01/12/2009, -1/+7A ***** fascinating picture. Earth as a dot makes it even more epic.
Much better version of the same pic:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba ... - r0g3r, on 01/11/2009, -4/+10The tiny dot of earth is sobering.
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -3/+9Is that real? It looks completely fake. If that is real it is the fakest-looking real thing I've ever seen.
No offense Saturn. - Fuzzycop, on 01/11/2009, -4/+8One of the cooler images I've seen on APOD in a long time.
It's the "diamond ring effect" from an eclipse of another planet. - beabis, on 01/12/2009, -1/+5Dude, you nailed it.
- dianepward, on 01/12/2009, -3/+6Can you see me waving?
- h2cm, on 01/11/2009, -4/+7Great pic and a reminder of Carl Sagan with pale blue dot.
- AoiTakuma, on 01/12/2009, -0/+3its not true color. It is real, it has just been enhanced so we can see rings and what not
- diggnidy, on 01/12/2009, -3/+6APOD ==> Instant Frontpage
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -1/+3relativity
- degree, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2I am so happy this got frontpaged. I was reading some magazine while I was in the waiting room of a doctor's office and there was an artist's rendering of cassini flying past saturn. That made me wonder what it would look like if the planet were to eclipse the sun, with it being made out of gas and all. I thought I'd never know, so I got sad.
I love you, nasa <3 - Synova, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2"The server at apod.nasa.gov is taking too long to respond."
When Digg crashes NASA I start to get scared. - flaflashr, on 01/12/2009, -1/+3Odd, APOD shows today's date, but it is not a new photo there. I downloaded it from there about a year ago to put on my work computer as wallpaper. It's a great picture, and the tiny speck of earth reminds of our our insignificance in the global scheme of things. So long, and thanks for all the fish.
- Thuktun, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2Because both of these are far more likely, comparatively, to be out of the shot when taking a picture of Saturn pointing toward the Sun.
- Rhendal, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2Rock on, good sir!
- hahahafr, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2Link to the original raw image without enhancements, would be appreciated.
This one looks like a sticky on a window in front of the sun. - Neet1983, on 01/12/2009, -1/+3@DiggDog1729, Jupiter and Mars are on opposite sides of the sun at the time of the photo. Earth is near conjunction, that is why it is visible
- irascib1e, on 01/12/2009, -1/+3wait, this is a real picture? it looks photoshopped....
space is a creepy ***** place. - DrummerAndrew, on 01/12/2009, -1/+3I can see Russia from here, too.
/idiot - FeloniusMonkey, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2Duh-- because everyone knows there are no Iranian missiles on Saturn!
- theOster, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2thats one of my favorite statement made my him. puts alot of our daily BS in perspective.
- DrummerAndrew, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2Keep drinkin'.
- Blazar11, on 01/12/2009, -3/+4It's an absolutely fascinating image in many ways!
- Equinox1, on 01/12/2009, -3/+4Dugg for the resolution. HR is the way to go.
- itsLadam, on 01/12/2009, -2/+3First time I've dugg an APOD image
spectacular photo - mandabee23, on 01/13/2009, -0/+1Oldpic is old.
- Karenna, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1The rays above and below the image are fascinating. Anyone know what they are? The symmetry is almost like spokes, but coming off at intersecting angles. Could they be reflections off dust like crepuscular rays? At least three are visible below the rings even in the less processed image referenced above by Kristijan12 at http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba ... . Several more are visible above the planet and rings in the fully enhanced composite. The different angles could be caused by the different angles in the 165 combined images. Why are they at such a high angle from the rotational and orbital planes?
- Dreamzville, on 02/06/2009, -0/+1Oh!!!!!
(speechless) - Ch0mpr, on 01/12/2009, -4/+4So unreal it looks fake ha
- huntdawumpus, on 01/11/2009, -3/+2Awesome!
- Nauree, on 01/12/2009, -5/+4How is this not photoshopped?
- kaimba, on 01/12/2009, -4/+3reminds me of the dark side of the moon artwork
- LiquidIse, on 01/12/2009, -5/+3Brilliant and humbling.
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -4/+2Unreal!!!
- clemdia, on 01/12/2009, -6/+4But where's Waldo?
- recruz, on 01/12/2009, -5/+3that is sic
- b3and1p, on 01/12/2009, -4/+2APOD is boring
- hawk0168, on 01/11/2009, -6/+3Exaggerated color image. But still cool nonetheless.
- NCSUspoon, on 01/12/2009, -5/+2Looks like something from Pitch Black
- mysn239, on 01/11/2009, -12/+9shemale vids folder :O
- DiggDog1729, on 01/12/2009, -5/+1Where's Mars and Jupiter? How's it that we always see Earth from Saturn, but nor Mars or Jupiter?
- bngeodesic, on 01/11/2009, -9/+3This is a spectacular view we as mere Earth-bound humans would never see without the use of technology or the powers that be releasing the alien craft technologies they most likely have at "Dream Land" to General Motors as part of the auto bailout so those folks can build rides we really would want again!

What is Digg?
