- alapoet, on 07/15/2008, -3/+16Stunning photo.
- hollywoodphony, on 07/15/2008, -3/+13Isn't that where they shot Spock into?
- arjung, on 07/15/2008, -2/+10that is one of the most beautiful pictures of space i have ever seen.
- zadadka, on 07/15/2008, -3/+7"At the Lagoon's estimated distance, the picture spans about 50 light-years"
That's from the Sun to Pluto and back 40,000 times. - psevium, on 07/15/2008, -2/+4What I find stunning is (at a guess), if you lived inside somewhere like this, you'd think space was pink
- AmyVernon, on 07/15/2008, -2/+4gorgeous pic... thanks for sharing..
- RealmDown, on 07/15/2008, -1/+2Oh, that's a gas.
- danharlow, on 07/15/2008, -2/+3I agree.
- Anomaly100, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Absolutely magnificent. I can't imagine anyone not loving this image..
- ngmcs8203, on 07/15/2008, -2/+3I was getting worried... I hadn't seen an APOD photo on the front page in a few days . Phew, glad everything is OK out in space.
//needless to say, pretty awesome photo. - RealmDown, on 07/15/2008, -1/+1Every seven years.
- ctfarmer, on 07/15/2008, -3/+3Beautiful
- twilitezone, on 07/15/2008, -1/+1It does sorta look like that! lol. I also thought it looks somewhat like the center of a beautiful flower of some kind. I also think that its name is fitting, it does have a lagoon type of feeling. Its an absolutely striking pic.
- Gazzali, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0terrifyingly beautiful...
- rhuntington3, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0Simply beautiful!

- deldigger, on 07/15/2008, -3/+2Go to the Astronomy Picture of the Day site. They have a new one every day.
Ger - zeshenone, on 07/15/2008, -2/+1Thoughts in chaos!!
- RealmDown, on 07/15/2008, -2/+1It looks like the middle crater of a splash point when a rock is dropped into a pond.
- guitarbren, on 07/15/2008, -1/+0Try http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap071122.html its one of my fav's. Good as a desktop too!
also http://www.spacetelescope.org/images/wallpaper2/he ... its the hubble ultra deep field. Everypoint of light is an entire galaxy in this pic, and that was just the hubble zooming in to an ordinary grain of sand sized point in our nightsky. Humbling! - synthaxx, on 07/15/2008, -4/+2Is it just me, or does that look like a predator?
- mmm_linux, on 07/15/2008, -5/+3I do love APOD and this is an amazing photo. but like XKCD i dont really want it to be on digg more then once a month. if i want to see the new picture i can go there my self.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -5/+2Another photoshop job. This one has been processed to remove whole freaking stars, at least it is an actual time laps photo instead of a false color image this time.
- Walcherina, on 07/15/2008, -6/+1Makes me want to break down and cry.
- AresDiggs, on 07/15/2008, -10/+3One of god's farts...
