- oteque, on 07/13/2009, -2/+18score 1600 in SAT exams and go to Standford university :))
- Ciryon, on 07/13/2009, -4/+18"fate has taken me in a different direction in life" What a stupid ***** excuse for not having the will power to follow your dreams.
- jsffive, on 07/13/2009, -1/+13I don't mean to nit pick, but don't you mean STANFORD University?
Usually, I don't spell check people on blogs, but it would seem to be important when talking about educational standards (or being critical of them) and NOT spelling the name of the University correctly...
The inory is obvious.
See? I mispelled "irony" just to make you feel better.
:-) - ai52487963, on 07/13/2009, -0/+11I think he means with the old SAT scoring system.
- notoneofus, on 07/13/2009, -0/+761th?
- hybridcreation, on 07/13/2009, -0/+6I will always attest that all that ever stood between me and being an astronaut/scientist is math. I both hate it and suck at it. I definitely have the interest, but as we all know you have to be a math whiz to be either.
- DouglasScott, on 07/13/2009, -0/+6You can also help identify galaxies:
http://www.galaxyzoo.org/how_to_take_part - Rudegar, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5date a nerd who works there?
- solidsnake1298, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5You can tell pstroll is a young-en when he doesn't know what the old SAT scoring system was.
- toppgun, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5I'm proud to pay my taxes. America has been good to me and I feel obliged to give back. If you feel like it is more of an obligation rather than something you feel obliged to do, then you dont really appreciate the opportunities you all have that are given to you because of your taxes.
- onederboy, on 07/13/2009, -1/+5I can be on BED REST for 90 days AND work with NASA? Where do I sign up!?!
*sigh* seriously? - kthoma22, on 07/13/2009, -3/+7Pay Taxes
- manitoba98xp, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4Canada does have a space program: we have the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). We have Canadian astronauts. We've contributed to the International Space Station and other projects, most notably with the Canadarm.
We don't have the facilities to launch a shuttle, but that doesn't mean Canada has no space program. - buddypriefert, on 07/13/2009, -1/+5Don't you Canadian's already have some kind of space thingy....oh yeah, it is the arm we use on our space shuttle.
Canadians. Always whining about how better they are than their neighbor.
Canada.... America's hat. - digitaldivinci, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4Dugg for mentioning FIRST robotics.
- hfactor, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4Contrary to popular American belief, you can't just make anything happen just by really, really wanting it.
- Jaime2000, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4MIT or Caltech also work in this regard.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4When can I become a freakin' intergalactic space explorer!?
- appleseed1234, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4At this point I don't even care if it's NASA that lands on the moon, just as long as someone does it.
- ThisIsSkynet, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2As right as you may be, grammar applies up north.
- damnshoes, on 07/13/2009, -1/+3I will pay with love.
- pstroll, on 07/13/2009, -1/+3Like a Formula 1 team without a car
- Tkuebrich, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2I just wear a NASA shirt. Good enough for me.
- PhoenixSmasher, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2He has a lisp okay? Cut him some slack. :(
- built2spill, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2Get an amateur radio license and talk to the Space Shuttle and ISS astronauts.
- Hidemons, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1that sucks it hard man. I guess everyone makes that decision at one point or another in their lives.
- Hidemons, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1that's not better at all.
- Hidemons, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1No way man. Government always has a leg stuck in the door with every business area. So even then there going to be a little NASA.
PS That's a lot of burys for a slightly neg response don't u think? - CanadianCheese, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Oh, they will have their leg in the door alright, but for space, private companies will be able to do it faster, cheaper, and easier, then the Bureaucratic Elephant that is NASA.
- jknevitt, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1Let me guess: you're one of these people who think the NASA budge is 10% of the GDP or something.
- manitoba98xp, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1You're attacking my username? My point is that there are obnoxious people everywhere. Who cares if my username contains the name of a _province_ (not the capital of Rhode Island)? It's a username – nothing to do with being "full of myself". Plenty of people name themselves after a variety of things.
- Hidemons, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Well, that what I'm doing. Getting me a degree in Aerospace Engineering.
- psycovic23, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1I'm an intern at JPL right now. Get an internship through NASA USRP. Greatest time ever.
And you definitely don't have to be from MIT/Caltech. - aoe2bug, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1lies!
- manitoba98xp, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Because as we all know, no Americans have ever claimed their country to be better than any other.
- Fleagleman, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1Meh. Can't I just get stoned, watch "Apollo 13" again, and call it a day?
- MSP1, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1WTF is a "Junior Grown-up"?
- Tarkaan, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Their engineers are ridiculously smart. I met a guy who worked on the Mars ... transport vehicle? The little car that the space men will actually drive around on Mars? Anyway, I asked him if JPL was as cool as I thought it was, and he said yes.
- inactive, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Think of how awful that would be. You would go ***** insane. I don't think I could do that for 20,000.
- kolobcreek, on 07/13/2009, -1/+1Here's another work with your senators and representatives to get more space exploration moved to the private sector.
- darlingt, on 07/13/2009, -1/+1Hasn't worked for me yet... :(
- BrokenCircle, on 07/13/2009, -1/+1You are a Digg Male you lack the capacity to pass both the pre-physical and psychological screening.
- logotype702, on 07/13/2009, -0/+0@ Ciryon: You are wrong in this case, some of the requirement to be an astronaut have nothing to do with will power...
- Kestrel, on 07/20/2009, -0/+0@jsffive - Ironic in what way? The word, "irony" isn't what you seem to think it is.
- asunesara, on 07/13/2009, -1/+1wish I could digg your comment about nine times
-future teacher - 4AntiStupid, on 07/14/2009, -0/+0I worked for NASA for many years. The trick to stay involved with NASA is be willing to stick with well below industry average pay and put up with government bureaucracy. It very much like working at a University. I don't regret the time though because there was a lot of good toys to play with a lot of history the general public doesn't get a chance to see.
- buddypriefert, on 07/15/2009, -1/+1No, but we aren't so full of ourselves that we create user names out of our own providences/states.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -1/+0I don't have any money :(
- recset, on 07/13/2009, -1/+0Wow
