- JesusGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Man can't these people come up with their own ideas let alone color scheme? Ever notice their are barely an "diggs" on these counterfeit sites?

- kashem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, at some point, KR and company will need to protect their trademark and image related to it. So anything digg-esque may be in trouble in the near future. At what point that may be, it's hard to tell, but as interests in the company grows, the more likely this will happen. This is just how things work.
- Lostcosmos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I seriously doubt that digg, or krose, would sue anyone with out talking to them first. This person seems a bit paranoid.
- flyersa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0shouldnt it bet DIGGALL.PHP then?
the case is that the guys from digg.de contacted digg inc. several times in the past about the process.. AND its not about this opensource love flag ***** you talking about.. h07 is a 8 year old organisation and as example founders of the xbox-linux project as example. Thats no ***** that are serious projects this guys had running in the past.
Sure the base idea was to use digg.de as a .tld to drive behind digg.com and to get users, but they started to talk to digg inc. from the beginning without getting any reply, the fact that digg inc. filled a trademark request a few days after a mail from them is just lol. - DPThought, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm sure it would have neded not much more than a email in the right time.
But this is ridiculous. Fireing trademark u-boats and not make any intention to clear the standpoints first.
Well i do not know how it happend. But it looks nasty. - saigumi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I reread this several times over and came to the conclusion:
Digg was registered in Europe by
These guys were using the digg name as well, capitalizing on the come-uppance of the name with a clone project.
They think that Digg is going to sue their pants off. Talk about hysteria.
They decide to preemptively strike using the "flag of opensource love-love".
This is lame and petty.
Don't forget to digall on their site. Oops.. shouldn't that be yigall?
