- Ojoo, on 10/26/2007, -20/+222$70 for the sticker? We pay to advertise for them?
- p0tent1al, on 11/10/2007, -13/+195Dear Firefox
Get your ***** together, fix the memory leaks in your browser, you shouldn't be hogging more resources than Photoshop, and we're not even talking about extra extensions. Firefox was great a couple of versions ago, now it's getting really bloated and people have been asking for a lite version and fixes in the leaks, but you continue on with the Spread Firefox message like nothing ever really happened.
The only reason most people even use Firefox are because of the extensions. My mom stopped using Firefox the other day after installing it, because it was slower than Internet Explorer.
Opera is right on your ass Mozilla, so keep up your little games and see what happens. - inactive, on 10/26/2007, -4/+108id rather watch someone else do it on youtube.
- elitistmusician, on 11/10/2007, -7/+85i wanna stick one on a fox.
then set it on fire. - gmprunner, on 10/26/2007, -18/+93All this, for a web browser?
- Duncast, on 11/10/2007, -5/+68peer pressure
- drgn, on 10/26/2007, -6/+64"It's goal is to get 50 great photos of the Firefox logo in situations that promote the browser's defining characteristics."
Like sticking it onto an elephant? - inactive, on 11/10/2007, -10/+63With IE, you use FF because IE sucks.
With Safari, you use FF because FF is better. - tizz66, on 11/10/2007, -0/+52It's ironic that Firefox was split from Mozilla as the 'lightweight' alternative.
- ImTheChaz, on 11/10/2007, -7/+49No point having all that RAM sitting around doing nothing, why not let Firefox hog it?
- inactive, on 10/24/2007, -0/+39READ PEOPLE!!! You get the sticker for FREE if you are one of the 50 selected.
- mayonaise15, on 10/25/2007, -1/+32That's what I thought until I read the FAQ. You submit your "plan" and if you are chosen they will send you a sticker for free.
- badassninja, on 11/06/2007, -17/+47And that would be because IE users are retards.
- estvir, on 11/10/2007, -18/+46Wow, you actually think using Firefox will actually END all of that? You're only a little delusional.
- mverta, on 11/10/2007, -4/+30Official Contest Rules:
Dear Suckers: Go plaster our corporate logo in places we're too cheap to pay for ourselves. If you get it in, like, the Superbowl or whatever, then our stock options will increase, we'll get better executive bonuses and a billion other perks you won't see a molecule of. But we'll give you a $300 game console, which you can use to play with yourself. So good luck with that. Let us know how it goes; we'll be home watching Battlestar Galactica. - al1encas1no, on 10/25/2007, -4/+28If I were Joe IE User driving down the street, that sticker would just annoy me.
- estvir, on 10/25/2007, -4/+28That's an interesting way of getting people to swap.
Insult them and complete misunderstand them. How's that working out for you? - Yibbon, on 10/24/2007, -1/+23I wonder if banksy is a Firefox fan...
- otatop, on 10/24/2007, -1/+22You submit a proposal and if they like it they give you the sticker.
- BDLou, on 10/24/2007, -2/+22Examples of some good places to stick these:
Boston University Bridge
The Longfellow Bridge - HigherLogic, on 11/10/2007, -2/+22Ah, Opera :) It's like the little engine that could.
- Viper007Bond, on 10/25/2007, -6/+25Because Safari renders about as horribly as IE does. Speaking as a web developer, I hate Safari to death.
Please, use Firefox or Opera. - inactive, on 10/24/2007, -4/+22Well, as a web developer, my life would be much easier if people would stop using IE altogether. It's for a browser but its also about saving time and some piece of mind. AND if you win the contest... an Apple Macbook Pro.
- evildeadguy, on 10/25/2007, -2/+19I think I'm going to tattoo Opera on my forehead instead.
- badassninja, on 10/25/2007, -27/+43It's not about a web browser. It's about the end of spyware, pop up, adware and bull *****. It's about kicking bill gates square in the balls and liberating the world at the same time.
- grantdickins, on 10/25/2007, -7/+23Someone has to goto Redmond and stick one over Microsofts plaque stone thing outside the building.
Or over the front door or something. haha - HalFTW, on 10/24/2007, -3/+18Make your own:
Logo:

Rasterbator:
http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/ - boomybx, on 10/24/2007, -0/+14Operation Firefox is not open to french residents. Too bad, I would have put the sticker on top of the Eiffel tower.
- Sabretou, on 10/25/2007, -6/+20Hey man, you know that whole "Firefox is God" thing is a joke, right?
- NSMike, on 10/25/2007, -0/+11If anyone could write a complete sentence?
- darkmotion, on 10/24/2007, -7/+18Wow, you are gayer than Albus Dumbledore's left testicle.
- saleem, on 10/25/2007, -0/+10http://xkcd.com/198/
- Grimdotdotdot, on 10/24/2007, -0/+10A quick look a the source reveals that the function 'MM_swapImgRestore()' is being called a lot.
Go go Dreamweaver Design Mode! - ImTheChaz, on 10/24/2007, -0/+9I hope your not serious. It is common knowledge that Firefox is a massive resource hog when compared to all other browsers, even the very latest versions, it's undeniable fact admitted by Mozilla itself.
- Proctor, on 10/24/2007, -1/+10I am pretty sure this would be a terrorist threat.
- ChromaVita, on 10/24/2007, -3/+12Are we supposed to put these in legal places or what?
- Micktion, on 10/25/2007, -0/+8You'll get eaten by a lion !!
- geoken, on 10/24/2007, -2/+10Yeah, if you're going to ditch all the awesome FF plugins for the speed of Safari, you might as well just get Opera which is faster than Safari, has some of the plugins FF has and renders better.
- LargeTrout, on 10/24/2007, -4/+12No one likes you.
- Malte33, on 10/24/2007, -5/+13If anyone is brave enough to pin it on the microsoft hq in redmond?
- uptown, on 10/24/2007, -1/+9Let me show you why this is a bad idea... Microsoft tried it with MSN ... and got nailed for it:
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=940 ...
If you start putting stickers on public or private property in an organize campaign such as this ... especially one where you're pre-approving the targets, you're going to get nailed. You'll get PR .... it just may not be good PR. - NSMike, on 10/24/2007, -0/+8Funny you should choose that word...
I misread the headline as, "Your Mission: Spread Firefox One Giant Sucker at a Time." - lostradamus, on 10/24/2007, -0/+8Hookers.
- christophocles, on 10/24/2007, -1/+9Opera may be fast but it is far less extensible and has even worse compatibility with websites designed for IE than firefox. (if the page you need doesn't work in Firefox, there is a snowball's chance in hell it will work any better in Opera, and will probably be much worse).
Case in point: The ONLY thing keeping my parents on Internet Explorer is the Houston Association of Realtors website, which is essential for their business. Since the website is a broken piece of *****, Firefox users cannot even use the basic search function. In Opera, however, you can't even LOG IN let alone try to search. - PaperMonkey, on 10/24/2007, -2/+9OK, yes it is technically defacing public (and/or private) property but did you take two seconds to go and look at the sticker and read the product information?
Specifically these two points:
- Almost 4 feet across! Remove and reuse. Won't damage walls or remove paint.
- Made of fade-resistant vinyl and peel-and-place patented, low-tack adhesive.
So would it really be a hardship for someone to come along, get a sharp edge under the corner and peel it off like those vinyl window decorations? - inactive, on 10/24/2007, -0/+7Check the FAQ. Duh.
- ndoherty13, on 10/24/2007, -2/+9What's with the nasty table-based layout for http://www.operationfirefox.com ?
- jonr, on 10/24/2007, -1/+8Ouch... :)
- ttamshadbolt, on 10/25/2007, -1/+8Firefox shut my system down just last week after grabbing 800MB of RAM... w00t
- MewTwo, on 10/24/2007, -1/+7wow... lame
