- aaly, on 09/15/2008, -0/+2I haven`t tried it yet. Shame on me as an IT Technician I should do it on release date but as for now I`m not very much motivated. Wonder why...
- eponce, on 09/19/2008, -0/+1I think they (the Google Chrome Team) are establishing the bases for the next generation of browsers, specially the new standards for Javascripting (V8 is solid rock as you noted).
Some browsers already implement some ideas like private navigation (aka incognito) and multiprocess browsing (tabs).
The result: Google is ensuring (with innovative ideas) that others browser follow his steps and, at the end, ensure that they applications run like a Porshe in all platforms and browsers (btw: Gmail is a heavy page).
The problem: at this moment I think (a very personal opinion) the problem with Chrome is not the browser architecture, is the way MS Windows manage the processes, is too slow switch from one tab to another and that is annoying. I don´t know why Windows insists in store processes in virtual memory even though there is enough physical memory available. May be another OS can manage this in a best way, let's say GNU/Linux.
