- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35Comment abuse... from the small text at the bottom of the page:
"It's a joke, lighten up. Firefox doesn't support ASP.Net AJAX controls, so you won't be able to download anything."
Not like I don't completely disagree, but sounds like the developers are just madcore lazy. - sheik, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17Shouldn't it be "you are downloading communism"? If you are going to make fun of people, the least you can do is make fun of them properly...
Maybe a slew of visits from the firefox web browser will make them change their mind though :) - jcaino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9it'sa ***** joke people.
- benjie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@deadhobo:
Agreed. Buried as inaccurate. It's not that the original submitter was trying to mislead us, but we don't need this thing getting out of control and taking over the front page. You know how few people read the comments (or even the article) before they dig. - oMeSSiaHo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Even though it was already posted people still dont seem to get it. Look at the very bottom of the picture, you see some little black lines? Hmmm... I wonder what they could possibly say...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5in soviet russia, terrorism downloads you.
- traeshaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3RTFA preferably before you make a digg about it.
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually a well trained idiot is able to to download, install malware with any browser. It just happens that clueless people are the same who use the default browser. Using Firefox will hardly limit an idiot's ability to install ***** on his windows comp.
- UglieJosh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I haven't opened my IE for awhile now and I don't plan on doing so now. Anyone wanna' give me a rundown on what the sites actual content is?
- dkm201, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Maybe he should make the text of that bigger before someone posts his domain's WHOIS info like I was about to."
Maybe you should not be an angry knee-jerk retard full of nerdy viciousness. - hatem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I won't download anything, obviously mean I won't buy anything :-P
- Riffraffs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5I hope this gets to the front page ... would love to see them hit with the digg effect, all from firefox users.
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's what I thought, but they are basically stopping anyone using Firefox from viewing their site (It redirects to a companies website if you view it in IE), which seems a little business-losing for a joke..
It's amusing, but stupid on the companies part. Well, since I'd assume who they designed the site for was using IE, they will have no idea what-ever-percentage of visitors (Those who use Firefox) cannot see their site at all.. And the only reason it seems to be IE only is they're using AJAX to load websites, which could *easily* be done with normal links...
- Ben - inobla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Somebody should make a page showing the blue screen of death and a text comment that goes something like this:
PLEASE USE FIREFOX 2.0.
When you use IE you support Malware. - essjay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The developer is also just plain wrong. FireFox supports the XMLHTTPRequest object, which is the standard ajax call, its IE that uses a proprietary technology (surprise surprise). Talk about giving web developers a bad name. There will be people who access the site using FireFox and will believe it. Completely reckless.
- agrabob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2just a poorly(doesnt strech to fit my "massive" 19" screen) designed site selling some Smartphone/Pocket PC apps and accessories. Theres no way this is high volume.
- reviver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"It's a joke, lighten up. Firefox doesn't support ASP.Net AJAX controls, so you won't be able to download anything."
- mpeg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1congratulations, you prove their joke that firefox users are fanatics
- misterblommer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Timed out before I could see anything...
- kcopp87, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Seriously, I LOL'd.
I can't even begin to imagine why you'd take this seriously, let alone why you'd take offense to it. - tehbored, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2And while we're at it, maybe someone should submit it to slashdot and fark.
- M0b1u5, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2engunner: you are one stupid moron. Try reading the text below the image:
"It's a joke, lighten up. Firefox doesn't support ASP.Net AJAX controls, so you won't be able to download anything."
I suppose you don't know to hold down the CTRL key, and use your scroll wheel to zoom the text.... A basic Firefox function since the 0.2 release I believe. Buried as inaccurate.
I'd bury you too, if I could.
If you have any gripe at all, it's that the idiot coders have no fallback option in the code so that you CAN DL stuff using browsers other than the god-awful IE7. - AnotherName, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0here's the pic
http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/6875/antifirefoxnb0.jpg - JaySherman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Oh my, I should read the whole article before digging, but who the hell uses such a small font size! I wish they put a "/sarcarsm" instead of that.
- y3lh5a, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yeah, I'd think people would read the entire page.. where it says (as is stated already in the second comment), "It's a joke, lighten up. Firefox doesn't support ASP.Net AJAX controls, so you won't be able to download anything."
Calm down, people! Joke! Ha.. haha. Yeah. - stox, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I would expect that a lot more terrorism will be done with IE7 than will ever be done with Firefox.
- agrabob, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Heh, they dont hate Opera though? Apparently open source is terrorism and closed source is nationalism, even if its from Norway. :P
- andrewman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1So I wonder why a hacker hasn't trashed this yet? Not then I am saying they should, but if you or someone you know happens to do it make sure to repost.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1hehehe....
let's see what happens when i run 20 instances of the following for a while...
while [ true ]
do
wget --output-document=/dev/null http://trianglepowers.com/ppc6700/images/tphome.jpg
done - starji, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Maybe he should make the text of that bigger before someone posts his domain's WHOIS info like I was about to.
- ruscoe, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2I'd expect a Firefox user to make that kind of image to illustrate the understanding of an IE user. If this isn't a joke and somebody genuinely believes that statement, then I'm a little sadder for humanity.
I only have Firefox and Lynx on my laptop and they haven't bocked Lynx. Difficult to browse though, as they've gone with a ***** frames site. - billoday, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1W. T. F?
That is disgusting; I should visit on my Mac... See what they say to that... Brilliant, it works perfectly. morons - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1 I have Firefox and Linux.
I bet this was put up by Microsoft.
