- AmyVernon, on 11/04/2009, -3/+175Annoying.
- HeDiggMe, on 11/04/2009, -1/+90Would be cool if you could turn it on for individual stories.
- badwithcomputer, on 11/04/2009, -3/+69i like getting emails about stories i submit getting popular and people responding to my comments (because i'm extremely narcissistic) but this is just annoying. disabled it in my settings.
- anexanhume, on 11/04/2009, -4/+58Ladies and Gentlemen, I direct your attention above, where you can see the largest gathering of power diggers complaining since the Sniffles incident.
- Iexist08, on 11/04/2009, -1/+40Yah it is a stupid feature, an email every half an hour
- YourMomsAnAnon, on 11/04/2009, -1/+38Click digg. Counter goes up.
Digg button turns into a "Follow" button.
SCIENCE! - Fleagleman, on 11/04/2009, -0/+36I know, right? If only they provided an option to turn that off...
- badqat, on 11/04/2009, -0/+32Indeed! Annoying is seconded.
- TalahRama, on 11/04/2009, -1/+28"Follow" button turns into yellow teeth ad.
PROFIT! - kb9vgr, on 11/04/2009, -1/+27i never heard of it to begin with
- jaybol, on 11/04/2009, -1/+26One option that you could do if you like getting the stories that something you submitted became popular, is just to pretend that all of these emails are for stories that you submitted. Delusions of grandeur never hurt anyone.
- colto, on 11/04/2009, -1/+24"Profit" is spent on a Digg ad.
RECURSION! - jaybol, on 11/04/2009, -1/+22Damn straight that would be a great feature
- BeShirtHappy, on 11/04/2009, -1/+20And thirded. :-)
- CB810, on 11/04/2009, -0/+17Fourthed!
- moditripit, on 11/04/2009, -1/+18...BBBBBAAAAARRRRRR
- glendower, on 11/04/2009, -1/+18"Recursion" causes users to become dizzy.
CONCUSSION! - solmakou, on 11/04/2009, -0/+17Only annoying for power users that blind digg.
- annjay, on 11/04/2009, -0/+15and so on...
- kitsua, on 11/04/2009, -1/+16Why have emails at all? Why not have a more comprehensive profile page that informs you of this stuff - including friend requests, comment replies, stories made popular etc; - from within Digg itself?
I hate emails, they're annoying and antiquated. On this 'social' news site I can't even communicate between friends or share stuff without using a third party site like Twitter.
I love Digg, but they should really redesign some of these interactive elements and make the site more functional and useful without clogging up your inbox. - RealmDown, on 11/04/2009, -0/+14and so forth...
- getsome2k, on 11/04/2009, -3/+15not needed.
- heavydigga, on 11/04/2009, -1/+13Very annoying seven
- ayeroxor, on 11/04/2009, -1/+1242
- inactive, on 11/04/2009, -8/+18Well this is a feature that can't annoy the Digg trolls. Like I said in my post last month, Digg needs to work on things like the Dupe Detector and improve user profiles instead of new features. Is this story already on Digg? http://digg.com/d317ZJM?T
- serif69, on 11/04/2009, -2/+12I thought we agreed never to speak of that again...
- adeelarshad82, on 11/04/2009, -0/+9what? dude didja even read the title?
I said "100 emails saying hey, a story you dugg got popular"
that doesn't mean that all the articles were submitted by the same person. It just means that off the 200 RANDOM stories you dugg if 100 got up on the front page, you will receive 100 emails saying that it went up. - borez, on 11/04/2009, -2/+11Over 9000
- filltev, on 11/04/2009, -1/+10Why?
- FOcast, on 11/04/2009, -0/+9So... Turn it off?
- uzair21, on 11/04/2009, -0/+9or every ten minutes.
- vault, on 11/04/2009, -1/+10They should have made it off by default and just told us it was available.
- yocouchdigga, on 11/05/2009, -0/+8Boobs.
- DirtPile, on 11/04/2009, -1/+8...MMMAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNCHHHHHUUUUUU
- Fleagleman, on 11/04/2009, -0/+7Sooooo...the radio button to select 'no email' would be ignored, and you would still receive emails?
- verkon, on 11/04/2009, -0/+7KHAAAAAN!
- damnshoes, on 11/04/2009, -0/+7or RIGHT now!
- evilregis, on 11/04/2009, -1/+8I just replied to your comment!
- shroommi, on 11/04/2009, -1/+8WHAT? Over 9000?!?!?!?!
- jguy584, on 11/04/2009, -0/+6Yea, usually you can just look at who submitted the story and know if it will be popular or not.
- WarnerK, on 11/05/2009, -0/+6^^That's more like it.
- gossumx, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5"Concussion" causes users to become sleepy.
COMA! - MacHarborGuy, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5or just turn it off
- adeelarshad82, on 11/04/2009, -1/+6I think its a great way to get the community involved but at the same time if you are digging like 200 stories or so a day and say 100 of them hit the front page, you don't want 100 emails saying "hey, a story you dugg got popular. Good Job!!!"
- chazuk, on 11/04/2009, -0/+51.21 gigawatts
- riggaman, on 11/04/2009, -1/+6..PPPPPIIIIIIKKKKKKAAAAAAAA
- Maddoktor2, on 11/04/2009, -0/+5On the last Digg Town Hall I asked Kev and Jay if they would be implementing a user-to-user personal messaging system to replace the shouts function, and they promised they would.
- RagManX, on 11/04/2009, -0/+5"On this 'social' news site I can't even communicate between friends or share stuff without using a third party site like Twitter."
Yes. This is a complaint so many of us had when they disabled such communications on Digg way back when. Still can't understand a social network that discourages social contact through the network. - DaviDTC, on 11/04/2009, -1/+5Everyone spam his email!
