- britblogger, on 12/01/2008, -1/+6the article reads so simply... I'm going to give this a whirl tonight. anything that can boost the color clarity of a shot is always a bonus - this tutorial gives the shots a major, but subtle increase is saturation and clarity, without looking heavily photoshopped.
great article - and DPS is a terrific site for photographers. - organicpop, on 12/01/2008, -1/+6Hmm, I'll have to try this out...
- AmyVernon, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4Great tips... I'm still trying to figure out photoshop...
- GeeksSpeakFont, on 12/01/2008, -1/+5Wow, the difference in vibrance is so evident!
- ArntorFTL, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3The same thing can easily be accomplished by toying with "saturation"
- xister, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3Try "Selective Color". I find you can do just as much to make vibrant colors with that tool. You can saturate and fine tune not only the basic colors but the neutrals and blacks also. The nice thing about it is that if you get good at using this tool, you can also change the contrast of the image with it. Also, if you don't get what you want the first time, just use it again. One tool, one or two steps, very powerful.

- ScrapNancy, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3This makes me wish I had Photoshop instead of PSE. :(
- 10goto10, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3WOW! WOW! WOW! Looks as good as a bird!!
- voidvox0, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3nice tutorial. LAB is also a great way of having more control on an image when converting to Black and White as well. Just delete the A and B channels, apply curves and levels then convert to grayscale. your image will retain a lot more information vs just converting directly to grayscale.
- axelgrease, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2the last one looks almost fake, too shiny
photoshop takes a while to master though, still havent figured it out :( - suncapsol, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1I don't think that you are fair! How can you be so good at ProBlogger and also so good at Digital Photography School? Another great tutorial and another reason to add Photoshop to my Wish List.
- symx, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1anyone knows how to do that with gimp?
