- rivi2k, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14definitely a paid to digg topic.
lammmmeeeee digg.com. lame. - LucasVB, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Buried for obvious paid digg and the use of "solution". GTFO.
- phuzzy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5*shrug* I found this interesting. maybe 'cause I'm in the middle of investigating this kind of thing. Looking for an Open Source solution - try DimDim. Still in early alpha, it shows promise. I just wish they would release the beta...
- hiddensphinx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4What about Skype?
- Fokuss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yugma.com
- SecondTreatise, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3If you have multicasting available, Access Grid is another great piece of software. You can't make a call directly to another person and you have to connect to a lobby server(you can set up your own), but it's free and works well.
http://www.accessgrid.org/ - OropheR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Crap! &Burried.
- Teratogen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3what about irc?
- lqqkout4elfy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2http://www.zoho.com has a zoho meeting deal that is free desktop sharing. Then you can then use http://www.freephoneconference.com/ for the free phone conference. Combined, you've got yourself a free web conference dealio.
- slapthemonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2PURELY LAMEE.....
- bivouac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2several of the 'recommendations' offer completely different types of services and shouldn't even be on the same list. such a paid digg.
- xamox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2http://www.vyew.com
Thank will kick all their asses. It's free, runs on Windows, Mac, and linux, and doesn't require you to install anything. If you want to do desktop sharing you just have to have java installed, otherwise it's AJAX based goodness. - danny951, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3No mention of iChat AV?
Buried -- Inaccurate...
okay okay, and because it's obvious spam ;) - Error601, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Cheap solution. Conference call + VNC.
- skanwar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Welcome to the era of Web 2.0 - where ***** like this should be free. Hurry up already someone -
- bivouac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I really like ASAP. They have a wide range of products. Its significantly cheaper than the other full scale products but offers much of the same functionality.
Premiere Global is one on of the sites on this story, but it is offers a great conference line with pay-as-you-go. (i'm not part of the paid digg though it may sound like it, just sharing my experience) - spectre_25gt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1http://www.yugma.com You don't get everything free, but a good amount of it is.
- akuzemchak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1or possibly the best solution of all... just don't have meetings: http://gettingreal.37signals.com/ch07_Meetings_Are_Toxic.php
- CircleFusion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's still in alpha. I'm keeping tabs on it. It's pretty interesting. Stupid name, but good potential.
- Bonejob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This article sucks, not a single open source piece of software in the bunch. We use WebHuddle it is fantastic. Check it out https://www.webhuddle.com/
- behemothaur, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1We give web presentations all the time. We have used ReadyTalk & WebEx in the past, and are currently looking at the Genesys equivalent. Unfortunately all paid products. The fact that none of these make it into the "top seven" here shows me this article is *****.
- Legolover64, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No Yugma?
www.yugma.com - grgt1994, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Anyone know of a free or open source option?
- CircleFusion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1_bad_ meetings are toxic.
I've attended plenty of meetings that were productive. I had a webinar session just last week (using GotoMeeting) with a vender that was very helpful. - tomocoo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1http://yahoo.com
- jdotk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Is it just me, or did anyone else have some pop-up ad try and take over your computer? It crashed firefox, and I'm running on os x...
- javanesevn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0The next generation of web is very great!!
- johu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0The first two links (GoToMeeting & MeetMeNow) just happen to be affiliate links... well, at least the images link via an affiliate program.
- kimbo305, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0What about Lotus Sametime? Does it really suck that much compared to something called MegaMeeting?
- shinyman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0There's a solution called DimDim (http://www.dimdim.com) which I haven't tried, but it calls itself open source. Anyone else have any experience?
- unrealmp3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Come on, no free (or open-source) web conferencing tools ?
This is more an hidden advertising than an actual news. Buried - BoKnowsDigg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Personally, I despise WebEx. Extremely laggy for anything other than a simple slideshow. Just my quick thought.
- codewater, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Buried
- Batipi, on 01/25/2009, -0/+0I recommend our business http://www.batipi.com , our services are not free, however, fair prices. For example you can get a Live Meeting account with us for only $25/mth. We're always evaluating new technology, to bring to our clients.
Cheers,
Dave - lucasmattioneli, on 06/18/2009, -0/+0I don't care if this is a paid article to be published in Digg. I liked it and I want to share some information as well.
There are some great websites that talk only and exclusive about web conferencing and its related:
- www.webconferencingzone.com and www.webconferencingreviews.com
thank you - Giocondo, on 03/20/2009, -0/+0This one is great too : http://www.blueface.ie/products/conferencecall.asp ...
It is based on Microsoft Silverlight - tktackett, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1What about Second Life (now voice enabled)? That way you don't have to look your employees in the eye when you give them the terrible news on budget cuts (including the fact that they will have to use second life from now on to communicate...because it is cheaper).
- shaka776, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0I work for a competitor of these companies.... so I am burying this article pretty much because it is lame, and because I am on DIGG to escape work and I don't want this stuff popping up... OH CRAP! HERE COMES THE BOSS! Alt+Tab
- ray29, on 10/10/2007, -9/+0great site
