- cyclo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have 3 Linksys WRT54GL's all running DD-WRT. I decided to see what the fuzz was all about with regards to Tomato and installed it (ver 1.04) on one of my GL's. I am impressed... much finer grained QoS implementation complete with real-time chart monitor. UI is also much more responsive the DD-WRT and is easier to install (smaller than DD-WRT so no need to install the mini first)... almost as easy as installing the stock Linksys firmware.
- nlinux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2.0.04 was released yesterday. This firmware kicks butt. It's the smoothest and fastest one I've seen yet. The graphs and statisics are incredible too. If anyone is looking a simple QOS that's ez to setup and works great then you need to check this out.
- hogrod, on 10/21/2007, -0/+1I ran HyperWRT Thibor15c for the last few years(very stable). This new Tomato firmware is just as stable and has a few more features. I'm running version 1.10
- B-o-K, on 10/21/2007, -1/+2eh... that is supposed to read "released last July"...
- duxxyuk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Nice little Firmware... I quite agree with "nlinux" ... "the smoothest and fastest one I've seen yet."
It neatly and effectively does QoS (for my VoIP), it has comprehensive and easy to read logs, and other features all put away into well thought out menus. This should have been the default firmware.
If you're looking for more features go and look at DD-WRT which is brilliant but if you're after solid and simple, go for this.
I'm running the 1.10 version.
