- Whosawhatsis, on 10/12/2007, -4/+49See, the thing is, when you're using windows, operations completing successfully IS an error.
- scottmoss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26Hey that's what I call planning ahead.....
- flernk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29Comedy. F'n. Gold.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23This is one of my favourite messages http://www.deviantart.com/view/32789616/ Nobody does it quite like adobe.
- foxsynergy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+27Reminds me of the Microsoft AntiSpyware message "There is no spyware in your spyware".

This one is much better, imo. - omaryak, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Must be a beta of Microsoft's new paradoxical logic engine.
- mumbler, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17Obligatory, predictable comment now that the site is unresponsive: "He must be hosting his site on the same machine. Har har har. Har..."
Okay, digg me down now. :-P - Silentshadow900, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14I got an error like that once, but it was much more condensed. It said:
"There is no error."
Wierd stuff. - xcheats, on 10/12/2007, -9/+20http://www.duggmirror.com
- Masna, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Well, what usually happens is, all the good material is dugg, and then crazed users run out of stuff to digg, so they start digging stuff like this. Just follow along with the Apple Cycle: http://www.misterbg.org/AppleProductCycle/
We're right around...
"Nerd porn threads appear in the Mac forums. Some lunatic with too much time and money on his hands disassembles the new device down to the bare, soldered components and posts pictures. - Vektuz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8this is why you shouldn't use ERROR_SUCCESS as a return code.
Success is not an error.
Even though there is, in fact, a return code of ERROR_SUCCESS - adolfojp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Oh, look! I replaced the S with an $!!! I am so smart! Because only Microsoft cares about money!
You forgot to include Winblows. - BillDoE, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8MS needs to change the OK button to say "End" or something. Everytime I see a windows error that makes me say "Ok", I want to yell. ***** no, it's not OK!
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7This is the first Vista screenshot I've seen that rivals the "The following programs may be causing Windows to run slowly: Windows Explorer" screenshot.
- alexcurpas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Malkovich Malkovich?
- Lane, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7i think this message dictates the level or moral over at Microsoft
- msgyrd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I've never programmed for Windows, but I assume that the error in question here is just debugging information left in, and they happened to perform a sloppy copy/paste or call an "error" function for their check.
I know when I program, I print out all sorts of 'uneeded' things while refining the program logic, then go back and remove them once everything is working. This just looks like someone forgot to go back and remove it. - pcheaven2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I tried Vista last night and this morning and I got that same exact error message about 50 times.....As it turns out the problem was I had a 14-in-1 card reader plugged into an external powered 4 port USB hub that was not USB 2.0 which means it is low power....The 14-in-1 card reader requires a hi-power bus. Once I moved the card reader to a different 4 port usb hub that was 2.0 I quit getting the error message.
But I had too many other problems....Like ----- NO FRACKING SCANNERS WORK IN VISTA, or at least not the four different ones I have. - crawfishsoul, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I just had the same error message from Dreamweaver. The server I was saving to didn't like my credentials so it told me: "An error occurred - cannot put sales.php. The operation completed successfully."
- boikej, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What about this "catastrophic error"
http://boikej.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!24411730359945C4!292.entry
or this crashed crash report:
http://boikej.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!1pMlHWbwh3d14m5WSwXVu9IQ!271.entry
or this standard but somewhat contradictory message:
http://boikej.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!1pMlHWbwh3d14m5WSwXVu9IQ!254.entry - ReRunx5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2gets the same error

- ad0beaddict, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No, the "Operation completed successfully" error is not a mistake. windows does not understand the concept of doing something right because it somehow all ways seems to mess things up. Success full is a very uncommon word among the windows users. Shock to most...
- 4degrees, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4reminds me of the error message i saw a while back when upgrading windows ME to windows XP. The message read: "Windows is unable to determine the version of your operating system, install cannot continue".
in my defence, i was only using winME to see just how ***** it really was... and boy was it. - Haiyadragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's my admin password. Oh *****. I guess my Windows box is insecure now.
- calums, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1gypsyjoe, you're an uptight bastard, go play in traffic.
- Xilon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1***** Windoze is always successful at being insecure... and at making errors :D lmao
- baraqiyal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4You want to be dugg down Huh? Well... how about if I just digg you UP! That'll teach you a lesson!
- jivemasta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know wether to believe half of these error message screen shots. It takes one line of vbscript to make any error message you want.
Here is one I made in 10 seconds: http://jive.1.vg/vista/programming/Error.jpg
Leave Microsoft alone they are good people. - RIPtechtv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This happend on my old machine all the time on Windows 98. Explorer.exe would get all messed up after a windows update and the machine would run fine for hours I would just move that box way to the right.
- marcan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This happens on almost any OS when something is broken in a specific way. I've seen it on my linux machine some times. Basically, a program gets a bad return from a function or somehow thinks something is wrong, so it blindly reads the errno variable (which containst the last error code), and converts the code to a message. If the variable was not set properly to the error code, it has the "no error" or "success" value. The message will be something to the effect of "no error" or "the operation completed successfully"
- Xilon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Umm that's typical jpg compression n00b. In any case it's funny.
- calums, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@championchap: Yeah, you are wrong. Try reading it aloud... Do you need to pause after Vista?
- Fracture98, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Best error I've ever seen is from an old program called 'T.A.D.S':
Error 2001: I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that. - jivemasta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is a good point. I never use message boxes though. I usually just change the window title or just add text somewhere, that way I remember it better when I go back to do the interface.
- ydt89, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3If ya havn't noticed the big orange words at the top of the page that say "Recently Popular". It just means it has recently been popular, with alot of activity going on... Try clicking the "Top Today" link...
- nothingtosay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There goes to show you, a good programmer needs to pair up with someone who is good with logic.
- fffizzz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hey Cytanic... for starters, I really dont give a crap if I dont write like an english major. Secondly, its not that I "couldnt figure it out", its not rocket science. Once it was installed (via upgrade), you literally couldnt goto the control panel, recycle bin, windows explorer, IE, anything without explorer crashing and restarting. I did however do a clean install and it was fine.
- dcoolidge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Weirdest error I got was "Operation completed successfully" when I was testing the limits of our scanner code.
- Aamir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1-__- you ppl are so gullible
- Germophobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This ironic error message has been around and discussed for awhile:
http://classicasp.aspfaq.com/files/directories-fso/why-is-the-operation-completed-successfully-an-error-message.html - gypsyjoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1fffizzz you are a retard, go and play somewhere else.
- compeyes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.flickr.com/photos/computer-eyes/327878761/
when you get errors like this, it just makes you wonder...huh?!? - zerocoder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Microsoft cannot afford the probability of "working as expected" O.S. in its corporate model.
- Cupboard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0its like
send packet error: no error
on cs1.6 - championchap, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@marahmarie
"I was playing around with Vista because in my line of work, I'll have to support this beast soon. My first plan was to do a simple .."
Seems like you missed a comma after Vista.
Of course, I could be wrong. - poppyq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is not new with Vista as people have mentioned, but still funny. I think I still have it as a screen capture from XP somewhere.
- RenoKb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This is one of my favorites, good ol' EasyCD on Windows -
