- CannonGod, on 07/11/2009, -0/+10Facebook status updates are closed off from anyone not in your network. Twitter updates aren't.
There. - gllopc, on 07/11/2009, -0/+6They both essentially provide the same function, but your Facebook status is only seen by your friends, where your Twitter updates are seen by anyone who wishes to follow you, whether you want them to follow you or not. This difference makes Facebook great for the average person, and Twitter great for celebrities of any degree.
I think Twitter did it first, though. - robbh66, on 07/11/2009, -2/+7I've asked this question half a dozen times:
"What the hell is the advantage of twitter over facebook status updates?"
And I've been dugg down everytime. However, NOBODY has ever answered the question. - sam10060, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3I could think of a few more but yea these three are definitely some of the better ones. There's a lot of garbage out there as well
- cavemonkey50, on 07/11/2009, -0/+3Tweetie isn't free. The list is the three best *free* iPhone Twitter apps.
- StigNordas, on 07/10/2009, -1/+4Great, another reason for people to ***** from anywhere.
- robbh66, on 07/11/2009, -1/+3Actually I already knew what you both said pretty much, in fact I've told my friends the only advantage I saw was for celebrities. Hell, one of them told me the only reason she signed up was because everyone was "making a big deal" it. With that said: I'm going to be honest:
IMO, Twitter is way overrated. I honestly do-not-care what celebrities are doing at any one time. EVER. In fact, I don't even care what some of my friends are doing (luckily I can hide those anyone ones on facebook). Honestly If something is important enough that that tweet needs to be sent to my phone directly (and I do realize this is an advantage of twiiter over FB): then either that person should A) be calling, B) texting me or C)I am a very sad person. - Vermifax, on 07/11/2009, -1/+3TweetDeck, ftw!
- CannonGod, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2The Three Best "Free" iPhone Twitter Apps...
- dixon86, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2You could do with one of them you sound a ***** *jokes*
- TristanPipo, on 07/11/2009, -1/+2I enjoy Tweetie Myself.
- storyid, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1I think the best one is Statustic, because it lets you update your Twitter, MySpace and Facebook all at once; I've been using it since it was released and am liking it a lot.
- Malik05, on 07/11/2009, -2/+3what's twatter.com lol
- iammzac, on 07/11/2009, -3/+4TwitterFon ftw
- viacombusta, on 07/11/2009, -2/+3Tweetdeck is great.
- krokodil, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1Tweetero is also open-source: http://code.google.com/p/tweetero/
- winmywii, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1It's the only function in twitter and it's a small part of facebook? I don't get twitter, but I do update my facebook status from time to time.
- swimtwobirds, on 07/11/2009, -2/+3tweetie?
- Philbert, on 07/11/2009, -1/+1I started with Twitterific, but switched to Twitterfon. I really liked how new tweets come in with a slightly different color and so did @replies.
Uh oh, while typing this I decided to try Twitterific again... I might have to switch, they really improved the look. Not to mention there was a Twitterfon update at the same time and all it did was make the banner ad more "in your face". - nroose, on 07/11/2009, -2/+2I like iTwitter better than the 2 of those 3 that I have tried. Don't seem to get the promised push alerts, though.
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -1/+1round of applause to the PR agencies that rep these apps/companies. you made it to pcmag and onward to digg. clap...clap....clap....
- Kastang, on 07/11/2009, -3/+3I am surprised Tweetie is not on the list. Tweetie is, by far, my favorite Twitter client on both OSX and iPhone
- sh1tman, on 07/11/2009, -3/+2You know...I look at porn every day and never get sick of it. But hearing about Twitter....
- alamedaman, on 07/11/2009, -3/+2***** Twatter and all the idiots who think they are important enough to use it
- villainousT, on 07/11/2009, -2/+1I'm a fan of itwitter, just started using it recently.
- immatellyouwhat, on 07/11/2009, -2/+1I've tried almost all of them but I still go back to Twitterific, they did a really good job on the UI.
- Duffle, on 07/11/2009, -4/+2Who would pay for anything Twitter related?
- selphishnerd, on 07/11/2009, -5/+3They forgot SMS
