- alwaysnomadic, on 02/07/2009, -0/+23they wouldn't have to be intelligent. she loves you anyway.
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+17The canned response is a time-saver.
- Valyn, on 02/07/2009, -0/+15ehhh my opinion is macbooks not so good as bridges.
- houndeyex, on 02/07/2009, -0/+14Wow, Forgotten Attachment Detector. Gonna give that one a try for sure.
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+14Will gmail always be beta?
- jggube, on 02/07/2009, -0/+11At the suggestion of a friend, I enabled the "multiple inbox" Gmail feature... probably the best decision I've made in quite a while.
- Zaeboes, on 02/07/2009, -0/+8ehhh my opinion is bridges not so good as ham sandwiches.
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+8they should make an add on that lets you send the same email to 20 different people, but make it seem like it is personalized with individual "Dear so and so" good for resumes ;)
- kyoobeh, on 02/07/2009, -1/+8do not feed the trolls.
http://digg.com/users/HeyEveryone/history/comments le sigh - tmyprod, on 02/07/2009, -0/+7The Forgotten Attachment Detector has saved me waaay too many times.
- rrife, on 02/07/2009, -2/+8Wouldn't the list have been shorter if it were a list of lab features NOT to enable?
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6/s?
- pintocat, on 02/07/2009, -0/+5I like the idea of it, but I can't really think of any labels/filters I'd use for it. The only thing I can think of would be to separate like, family/friend emails out, but that would require a lot of time to label/filter by address. Shrug.
Any idea? :\ - tmyprod, on 02/07/2009, -0/+4wat?
- JP1998, on 02/07/2009, -3/+7Is there a feature in gmail to know when someone has open an email you send? At work when i send emails it gives me an auto response saying such and such has read your email. Just wondering sometimes i send time sensitive material over email and need to know that the person has open and read the email. thanks
- illDecree, on 02/07/2009, -0/+4no. there isn't one (yet?)
it's called Read Receipt - nextekcarl, on 02/07/2009, -0/+4It depends upon them allowing such a response to be sent. I've always disabled it myself (when it was enabled at all) just because it used to be a way for spam artists to find actual addresses (as opposed to just guessing what addresses might be real). So many systems shut that functionality off, ASAIK.
- Oea420, on 02/08/2009, -0/+4This is called a Mail Merge and it's quite easy to do with outlook.. which works with IMAP and gmail................ make up a spreadsheet with your names or pull from some SQL DB and whalla, oh em gee
- Neo139, on 02/08/2009, -0/+4you can add a new inbox as a search0 search like this: "from:email1@gmail.com OR from:email2.. OR from:email3..."
- koolto, on 02/08/2009, -0/+4Yep, that's one of the principles of Web 2.0
- wiihuck, on 02/07/2009, -0/+3this seems like the kind of thing greasemonkey is perfect for. i know nothing about programming (even for greasemonkey) so maybe i'm off in my thinking...
- lukas88, on 02/08/2009, -0/+3Wish they had a netbook friendly multiple inbox version. 1024x600 doesn't quite cut it, it ends up being a little garbled.
- malex, on 02/07/2009, -0/+3Not necessarily everyone needs the same set of tools. Perhaps an automatic porn aggregator is all you look for out of a web service, but I think most other people will find these quite helpful.
- opticwind, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2Missing the best one...gmail can now be used to send SMS messages. No love for that?
- Neo139, on 02/08/2009, -1/+3If gmail active by default ALL labs it would be a mess.
Labs features are for gmail, like extensions are for Firefox - inactive, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2There's no need to comment on this digg post.
- Espinha, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2Yeah, a simple "Yep, mom" does the trick here.
- Derrekito, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2sounds like embedded HTML and/or Javascript to me. Perhaps it's something you could do yourself, but an efficient design would be beyond me? I'd be concerned with pissing off one of my colleagues.
- benholmes, on 02/13/2009, -0/+1Personally, I missed the SMS capability announcement. Left off from this list, probably for good reason, is the late-night math quiz in order to send emails. Gets in the way more than it prevents the "oops, really shouldn't have sent that."
Oh, and I'll add my thumbs up to the forgotten attachment feature. - Nosrac, on 02/08/2009, -1/+2Fortunately, No =)
- Skuzzlbut, on 02/07/2009, -1/+2great piece - thanks
- revenz, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1meh, they aren't anything i would go nuts over. dont get me wrong i love gmail, just those features aren't that breathtaking.
- inactive, on 02/08/2009, -1/+2why not
- d0nkeyBOB, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1you should probably stick with outlook and 2002 . . .
- DiggMeUpPlz, on 02/08/2009, -3/+1Folders would great.
- quickgold192, on 02/07/2009, -7/+5I don't want 10, I want one: Mark all as read. That's all I want. They have "Mark as read", but I have to click "select all"-"mark as read"-"select none".
- melonhedd, on 02/08/2009, -3/+1Who the hell uses Gmail chat?
I made a custom stylesheet just to remove it. - DiggMeUpPlz, on 02/08/2009, -3/+1Folders would intelligent.
- greedyemu, on 02/08/2009, -4/+2Does it matter?
- utahtb, on 02/07/2009, -6/+2Love the tool, love the new features
- jwolcott, on 02/07/2009, -15/+10My favorite feature is the logout. When you click on it, you logout.
- benologist, on 02/07/2009, -11/+5Anyone who's using gmail needs to do so with their eyes so they can actually see all this ***** that isn't hidden and isn't a secret. It has to be the only service where everybody using it is completely blind to every feature and button, and needs to be told via digg and the blogs that specifically write this crap for digg.
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -8/+2still doesn't stack up against the endless amount of features in Microsoft's Live/Hotmail/Mojove/*****
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -28/+2ehhh my opinion is gmail not so good as macbooks.
