- dgblackout, on 10/11/2007, -16/+1it'd be nice if that thing didn't look like crap and looked unified with os x.
otherwise, it's horrid.- wordsofwisedumb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Unless you use Uno, OS X is far from unified anyway. Brushed metal Finder, Pro apps with dark gray, other applications are Aqua, and iTunes is doing its own thing off in the corner. This application fits in very nicely with the Uno-fied version of OS X.
- TomP, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Is there something like this for windows?
- poffey21, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I'm going to have to say that Paint.NET is a LOT better, for Windows of course. I actually use Paint.NET with Photoshop tutorials quite a bit. IMHO it's an excellent, open-source program. (That isn't invite-beta)

- jakedahnn, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Have you actually used it?
I mean the static screenshots look pretty bad, but the app it self is really sweet!- dgblackout, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2i have, i liked how it worked, but i didn't like the design of it, they should have stuck to apple's spec.
- babooo404, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I agree with jakedahn - it's a sweet app!
- tzonic, on 10/11/2007, -7/+0I've been waiting to try this out, if anyone can, please send an invite to tzonic [at] gmail [dot] com. Thanks!
- NikF, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1How about we all digg the actual announcement?
http://digg.com/software/Skitch_Public_Beta - NeuronExMachina, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4After clicking the link, I was rather disappointed to see that Skitch didn't involve rollerblades or grabbing onto the backs of moving automobiles.
http://www.mobygames.com/game/skitchin- bndocksnt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You read my mind. I can remember countless wasted hours on the Sega playing this game. Seemed so state-of-the-art at the time...
- apologeticus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0BAH!!! I signed up but still have to wait for an "invite" to "become available."
- kylemech, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5I actually can't see how it is all that useful. irfanview much? Drag and drop is so Nineteen nintey-windows.
I mean, I hate to be all Debbie Downer about it but... honestly. You're _excited_ about this? - paigeleeds, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0I got a copy of Skitch a couple months ago from Chris, the founder of Skitch's company. I love the easy functions on it. Sure, there's similar things out there, but the ease of use and the set up--that it automatically imports images into my blog---that's super cool.
- apologeticus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0ooh - send me an invite so i don't have to wait!
- apologeticus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0ooh - send me an invite so i don't have to wait!
- kohawks, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Is this going to turn into another Joost situation where there are people all over the internet begging for invitations?
- sandieman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is going to be the flickr of screenshots.
- flarn2006, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I sent them a message and sure enough I got my invite! =D
- Nutmegan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0I got my invite too. Very decent of them.
- Onwlyix, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1If only there was a Windows version, or I had enough money for a mac.
- GDugg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Those who say that there are similar applications out there, or that Paint.NET is "better," haven't taken the time to read what the application and its associated web-based service actually do. I've used Paint.NET and agree that it's a lovely little program, but Skitch is not a comprehensive image editor; it would be more accurate to compare it to a screen capture program that lets you annotate, resize and otherwise manipulate the resulting image before saving it. Even then, though, the associated mySkitch service, as well as the application's built-in "sharing" functionality (upload to FTP, Flickr, etc.) offer added value that such a stand-alone application doesn't.
In any case, best to try it before deciding, eh? =) - Wolfman~K, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is a nice app, the myskitch sites needs some social web2.0ey sharing features but the app is solid. great functionality with drag and drop simplicity.
