- analogkid01, on 03/08/2009, -0/+31The 8th is the 404 page.
- IAmTheGuy, on 03/08/2009, -1/+17This list is horrible. One glaring omission is 4chan. Regardless of whether you like it or hate it (like most people), 4chan is amazing. The cess pool from which memes arise, and the hatred and anarchy that would make most people go insane within minutes is something that needs to be recognized.
- MtheoryX, on 03/08/2009, -1/+13None of my three kids has known a world without Google, cell phones, and an internet-connected computer in the house.
God I feel old. - SubxeroSnipa, on 03/08/2009, -2/+13Anybody else read 'Stevie Wonder of The World' ?
- tiggerdigger, on 03/08/2009, -1/+11how can you have a 7 wonders of the world wide web and forget 4chan?
- inactive, on 03/08/2009, -0/+9The site is probably based in Europe, where that usage is correct.

- winnopeg, on 03/08/2009, -0/+3A 6KB swf file that makes morons think it's downloading something.
- Raisedshoulder, on 03/08/2009, -0/+2I thought it said Stevie Wonders of the World for a sec there and thought the article would be about Stevie Wonders impersonators across the world. I was expecting to see an Asian Stevie Wonders.
- Chinzon, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2No, who's the author?
- aenima987, on 03/08/2009, -0/+2I actually feel kinda bad burying him, because it sounds to me like it's just someone who's new to Digg and has no idea about spamming submissions.
- fbass2000, on 03/07/2009, -0/+2from http://www.tgdaily.com/html_tmp/content-view-41643 ... symbolics.com and others have been there since 1985.. typo?
- jfaris, on 03/07/2009, -2/+4Poor Yahoo!...They didn't make the list.

- inactive, on 03/08/2009, -0/+2This was kind of a lame list.
- osage, on 03/08/2009, -0/+2404 clan does it again!

- ncapone, on 03/08/2009, -0/+2Sounds like someone hasn't listened to the Berlin Trilogy.
- Petrarch1603, on 03/09/2009, -1/+3Wikipedia is arguably the greatest thing on the internet, and it didn't make the list?
- scarwars, on 03/08/2009, -0/+1I read that as Stevie Wonder
- evergrim, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1DAVID BOWIE! ***** YEAH!!
- TheKingOfGames, on 03/08/2009, -0/+1*falls asleep*

- Chalks777, on 03/08/2009, -0/+1Oh
Oooh YEAAaaaah
Ah
Ziggy played guitar
Jamming good with weird and gilly
And the spiders from mars. He played it left hand
But made it too far
Became the special man, then we were Ziggy's band... - vasu2211, on 03/15/2009, -0/+1Looking great
- Halindir, on 03/08/2009, -0/+1"Na na, na na, boo boo!"
goddamnit :l - kd1s, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1Just over ten years? By whose math? Lets see my first browser was Mosaic in 1992. That makes it 17 years of WWW.
- slapded, on 03/08/2009, -0/+1sux, If only I could go back in time.. I could be buying triple character premiums for pennies.. :(
- a1cd, on 03/08/2009, -0/+1So.. just how wide is the web?
- Natilator3, on 03/08/2009, -0/+1as it turns out, it's not the top listing on google anymore for the "wonder" search
- kd1s, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1I started using it in 1992. Prior to that I was on Bitnet for about 5 years. And before that I helped engineer the first and longest lasting BBS in RI.
My father and his wife around 1995 via AOL of all things. - Wargasmic, on 03/08/2009, -1/+2Because yahoo sucks.
- guymcdowell, on 03/09/2009, -0/+0This is hopefully an annual list. Yes 4chan influences pop culture on the WWW, but isn't much more than an update of the old pre-WWW bulletin boards.
If it seems pre-1999, it's because it is meant to honour originators and influencers. - guymcdowell, on 03/09/2009, -0/+0That would be EPIC! There, one comment and I've responded to you and all the 4chan fanboys out there. Heh. Not to lump you in with 4chan fanboys of course.
- guymcdowell, on 03/09/2009, -0/+0I so should have put that in there! Good call!
- guymcdowell, on 03/09/2009, -0/+0Site is based in Europe, but I'm Canadian, so it's probably a typo. Geez, I gotta watch those.
- guymcdowell, on 03/09/2009, -0/+0Mainstream, been in the mainstream for just over ten years. Or, to clarify, when did your folks start using the WWW?
