- MattRK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It didn't work the first time i tried it, but after i changed the smtp settings under the settings menu, it did. You might give that a try.

to get the detail - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Has anyone been able to get it to work with gmail?
- eMpi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0For North America only
- The_Seaward, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0forgot to mention - the best reason to use Teleflip:
You probably know all your friends' & family's cell numbers (or have them in your address book), but do you know what service each of them uses? If you don't, then you can't send them text messages via email. With Teleflip, you only need to have the phone number, then just add "@teleflip.com" - The_Seaward, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The message comes through in just a few seconds.
You need to check your settings (TOOLS - Teleflip).
I have a Samsung A620 (VGA1000) from Sprint, and it works perfectly fine for me (I even double-checked before posting this Digg).
Like MattRK said, fix your SMTP settings - if that doesn't work, check your firewall to see if it's blocking Blat.
And unlike what vuzman says, it's hardly a ridiculous extension. It's the difference between typing a message on your phone compared to your keyboard... - Mobiworx, on 03/03/2009, -0/+0works better using worldtexting.com all carriers are supported nextel, sprint, verizon, att, tmobile and many more
- The_Lance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it doesn't work for me either.. im using a Samsung A800 with Sprint PCS
- The_Seaward, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't think this extension will work via Gmail, but I know you can send text messages to mobile phones through your Gmail account via Teleflip. In the "To" field of the email, enter the 10-digit phone number followed by "@teleflip.com"
- C_Prime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've changed my settings according to the info posted in the comments of the actual link (SMTP for gmail smtp.gmail.com with the 587 port) and I haven't been able to get it to work. It says its compatible in North America, but since I am from Canada, I'm used to these promises of North American compatibility being just the US. Anyone get this to work with accounts other than Gmail? (not like anyone would want to use anything else)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this didnt work for me............tried sending a test to myself. anyone know what im doing wrong?
how long should it take? - RyanSmith99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Works fine with Comcast
- specialk2hz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0US Cellular is the worst phone carrier ever. My Nextel works great with teleflip but god forbid US Cellular allowing it. They are the most limited network in this planet with nothing fun for you to play with. Limited Text Messages with the Top Service Being 100messages for $15
- Pilgrim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Works fine, its nice :)
- The_Seaward, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0C_Prime - I'm in the US, and I used the same settings you described for Gmail, and it doesn't work for me either. I use it with the email address I have with my ISP, and it works flawlessly.
- vuzman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Who cares? It's Just Another Ridiculous Firefox Extension (TM)
