- MrScotchBoy, on 10/15/2009, -4/+103Internet Explorer has had 8 versions and has been out for like 15 years and it still sucks.
- brentjholmes, on 10/15/2009, -49/+108digg if you use chrome
- khabba, on 10/15/2009, -9/+64I don't care for speed anymore. All browsers are fast enough basically. It's about plug-in support, features and stability for me.
- FlipCoder, on 10/15/2009, -2/+46lol IE... atleast tryyy
- raviu90, on 10/15/2009, -12/+54Firefox Forever
- raviu90, on 10/15/2009, -1/+37 was not reading it properly
i thought Internet Explorer was getting high results
TRIPPED ME OUT - DelSolMan, on 10/15/2009, -2/+30pro ms browser = buried alive on digg
- amitait, on 10/15/2009, -3/+30And even worse, it's on a Microsoft OS.
If Microsoft itself can't get these two products work great together...then...then...I don't know...then something :\ - nemofishclt, on 10/15/2009, -12/+37We all know google crome is great....
but i will never use it - trav3135, on 10/15/2009, -2/+26I love chrome.
- masterc, on 10/15/2009, -1/+20My browser can beat up your browser.
- exno, on 10/15/2009, -2/+20throw in the acid tests on the browsers and you wonder why anyone would prefer iE at all.
i think i will stick with chrome on my pc and safari when on the mac at work - ericcc, on 10/15/2009, -0/+17You know you can just click on the reduced version in the article to blow it up to full size right?
- HeavyWave, on 10/15/2009, -3/+19Why? I've been using it for 6 months now, it's uber fast.
- Jerk, on 10/15/2009, -0/+16They're working on the seventh revision.
- Rhydeble, on 10/15/2009, -0/+15does it have the same neat stuff FF has?
- BossKey, on 10/15/2009, -5/+20more than ever in history
- omniiv, on 10/15/2009, -1/+16my browser is faster than your browser.
- Barackalypse, on 10/15/2009, -1/+13Performance is irrelevant when the site you want to visit is down (glares at sixrevisions.com)
- aussieNickuss, on 10/15/2009, -3/+15I would guess that Safari running on a Mac would achieve better results than those shown here for Windows, but whether or not it would outperform Chrome and Firefox, I dunno.
From my own experience, Safari feels way quicker than any other browser I use, including Chrome on Windows. - sirbeta, on 10/15/2009, -0/+11There are a few staple extensions not available for Chrome that one moving from Firefox would miss too much. That's pretty much my position at the moment.
- Narishma, on 10/15/2009, -0/+10Unless you use a netbook, then speed and memory consumption are more important than other stuff.
- BaconGod, on 10/15/2009, -2/+12As soon as Xmarks and other Firefox plugins are added to other browsers I'll consider it. That's the only thing keeping me on firefox because right now they are really sucking on my Macbook Pro. Flash on this thing is unbearable half the time. I tend to have to use Safari to play Hulu and Youtube without hiccups, I have 20/5 Fios, and a fresh install of leopard.
- SgtTurdMiner, on 10/15/2009, -0/+9Now I just have to put that millisecond I saved to good use
- ericcc, on 10/15/2009, -2/+10I find the opposite to be true. IE is slow and crashes on all my machines. Chrome has gotten better by leaps and bounds but I still use Firefox because there are a couple of really good add ons I don't like to surf without. Namely Flashblock and AdBlock Plus.
- 4rp4n3t, on 10/15/2009, -1/+9IE6 was, and is, a complete piece of *****, and is probably the most hated browser of all time for web devs.
- v3rtex7740, on 10/15/2009, -2/+9then microsoft sucks at what they do, which was no secret to begin with
- acdtrux, on 10/15/2009, -3/+9These are the points I made last time there was a comparo thread and i got dugg down. It just shows that microsoft produce bad products. It's easy to see here objectively.

- Vusys, on 10/15/2009, -1/+7Don't forget rendering. I still have to use CSS hacks to make IE8 display things correctly.
- mrBitch, on 10/15/2009, -1/+7@ liltbrockie, RE: " .. Do people still use Macs?"
You still stuck in 1995 ? - zizar3, on 10/15/2009, -1/+7http://rorr.im/digg.com/software/performance_compa ...
- Frostek, on 10/15/2009, -0/+6I was thinking I might learn another language.
Perhaps travel. - bjornski, on 10/15/2009, -0/+6I said that too.
I'm starting to like Opera now. - victorycig, on 10/15/2009, -0/+6IE6 almost killed the Internet. Really. It was Microsoft's most blatant attempt to force their proprietary standards into servers and onto sites.
And it nearly worked. Developers are STILL coding exclusively (or additionally) for IE6. - Deveak, on 10/15/2009, -0/+5hmmmm..... I might consider using chrome, I'm a Firefox fan boy, how does chromes security match up to it? does it support add ons and ad blocking?
- TheBlueVulcan, on 10/15/2009, -0/+5I don't know whether to digg or bury you!
- valleyvideo, on 10/15/2009, -2/+7Wow, I'm actually pretty impressed that those Safari stats are while running Windows.
- iFrix, on 10/15/2009, -1/+6I agree. Any difference in "speed" is a matter of milliseconds, so who cares if I have to wait (OMG) half a second longer?
So I choose my browser based on how well it suits me and what add-ons are available. This way FF is better for me. - touchinmyself, on 10/15/2009, -0/+5I hate these lame comparisons. Declaring one browser faster with so few tests is ridiculous. There are so many variables when testing browser speeds you would need to test dozens of pages dozens of times just to get something even remotely concrete and even then its still debatable.
I was a long time user of opera and loved it but got sick and tired of the many incompatibilities and the dev team that thinks the theme is more important. Now that im on firefox i am getting sick of it becoming a bloated slow pig after installing just a few standard extensions. Chrome is great but without good extension support it lacks important features. Opera 10 is nice but still has most of the compatibility issues it had in the previous version and still has no support for extensions (Widgets blow guys get with it).
Its annoying that we have 3 browsers that are getting a lot of developer attention yet they all still pretty much suck. - fragomatik, on 10/15/2009, -2/+7Well in that case - until I can get add-ons - I'll stick to Firefox.
- GraceHead, on 10/15/2009, -0/+5I use chromium's better distribution ... "Iron" for the adblocker.
- MSaadat, on 10/15/2009, -1/+5Now we should stop calling IE a browser.
- pauliusuza, on 10/15/2009, -1/+5Firefox FTW
- mike0k, on 10/16/2009, -0/+4I.E you are the weakest link....Goodbye =)
- seventhc, on 10/15/2009, -0/+4I thought the same thing but was thinking...What? IE is getting first in everything? I thought it would be the exact opposite of that...then...oh, I see now.
- Lucid00, on 10/15/2009, -1/+5Funny how the tide has turned.
They kill Netscape, then Netscape is reborn into something that might kill them, hmmmm... I wonder what'll come after that.
How long till we start seeing "Down with Firefox" sites everywhere? - WomensUnderwear, on 10/15/2009, -2/+6opera and firefox both dropped the ball, chrome said 'thanks' and ran with it
- Kicksilver, on 10/15/2009, -0/+4Chrome is definitively faster, but FF seems more stable to me.
