- icespide, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5FINALLY i can use that blu-ray dvd burner I have laying around.
- Nocturnal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2We can't upgrade yet, not until October 26, 2005. Just a FYI.
- guyhatesyou, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I see no mention of HD-DVD support, only Blu-ray. I think I'll just buy more hard-drives instead.
- Pil0tFlame, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The above should be:
regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\MediaLibraryNSE.dll"

- Sixcolors, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Call me when Alcohol 120% supports Blu-Ray and HD DVD.
- Calculon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Who's ready to pay 10$ a blank disc?
- junkam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is mentioned in the original post URL
http://www.aviransplace.com/index.php/archives/2005/10/11/nero-launches-nero-7-with-blu-ray-and-hd-dvd-support/
For some reason digg moderator changed the URL to Nero - kingy2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Don't Buy!!!
I bought Nero 7 Premium. after installing I faced some technical issues - some of the features didn't work.
I asked for a technical support - they reply me after a week with no help. I asked again but with no reply.
I appealed to the consumer support but instead of helping me they wrote: "Please be advised that we are unable to offer a refund, as defined by our terms of trade. These terms were accepted with the purchase of Nero from our website ..." they didn't even helped me!!!!!!!
The current situation is that I payed money for a software that doesn't work and they won't help me!!!! - Snyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nero's design team needs to be dragged into the street and shot. Seriously, who did the updated look to version 7's box and website? Badly done brushed metal with a swooshed red curvy thing that's deserving of no better than "B" in a 10th grade graphics design class. Shame on you, Nero, shame on you. I thought you were trying to be one of the big dogs in the game, yet you spend what looks to be worth no more than 15 bucks on cheaply thrown together package design.
- tolkachi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"It has this piece of crap called Nero Scout that basically destroys ALL your filetype associations and puts them to Nero. "
Yes, this is the default option in the install. However, you have the clear oppurtunity to uncheck these boxes and disable the Nero Scout (and other bloatware). While I don't like the direction that Nero is going, there is still the option to opt out of their "all inclusive" package.
It would seem that they're contending for the all-media solution. The player is just fooking ugly though. - XorSystem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I am not happy with this latest version. It has this piece of crap called Nero Scout that basically destroys ALL your filetype associations and puts them to Nero. That included all my photoshop associations, all my media files, and even my ISOs, standard jpegs, and wmvs.
No bueno... - republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is recode better than DVD Shrink? I have not used recode and was just wondering if it would be worth the download!
Steal for the rich to entertain the poor
-Lex - DELTAsnake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This smells like a money grab by Ahead since BR and HD are so far off. And I remember that Nero 5 (or was it 4) didn't support DVD at first and was later added in a FREE update.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Now this is the same one I downloaded a month ago right uhh err I mean bought using my time machine...
- bvaughn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey I would wait, it seems to be very unstable.
- thatsiebguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Look at all the junk!
- ziffel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1a shame. these companies have to put SOMETHING out every year, so they just keep bloating and bloating. Christ, now a 10 mb super fast and efficient cd/dvd burning app has somehow ballooned to a 700 mb behemoth that steals file associations, and does HD backups. meh. I like small, efficient apps that do one thing well. Not the everything-and-the-kitchen-sink stuff these companies are putting out nowadays.
- Ruffy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i like the new interface of nero burning rom. Alot of things are streamlined.
As for the isntall
disable nero scout, only install burning rom. Boom great program. I'm also "testing" nero Backup. I like it alot. - M4tt3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ pil0tflame,
Thank YOU. - bedouin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wish Nero would start working on their Mac burning software again.
- diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how, this is pretty cool.
i hope they can catch their linux version up to speed. ;)
(wishful thinking) - cptmorgan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1now we just have to wait 2 years before they come out!
- LazyBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Already up on the torrent sites .... seems to be a bit slower then the previous version.
- smeager, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not sure how Nero 7 will do but I'll give it a try. I would really like to see what they do with Recode. I like using to to encode my video files to (AVC/H.264)MPEG4, which if I'm not mistaken will be the future standard for HD content. I've always like Nero and we'll see how this does.
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Full-o-meter automatically adjusts to you project type (DVD-1, DVD-5 or DVD-9)"
...lol
I remember when Nero was for people who knew what they were doing, now its for morons who need THE FULL-O-METER!!!! - TKDWILSON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No HD DVD support at all. Actually, it kind of sucks. Very few new features really. What it does do now that it didn't before, it doesn't do well. All in all I almost feel sorry I downloaded it. It is a minor upgrade at best over 6.6. This should really be 6.7 or 6.8. Blueray support is limited by a lot. Recode doesn't work with blueray. The only thing you can do with blueray is burn a data Blueray disc I guess. Don't worry about getting this yet. Take your time. Maybe in a few months it will be better after updates.
Eric Wilson - G-RaZoR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1wow, I've had this for over a month... :) I
- sonsuzluk, on 08/29/2009, -0/+0Thanks nice software.
http://www.turk3.org/2009/05/21/nero.html - crazyman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1koo.
- doktorrocket, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It doesn't say if it supports Blu-Ray-R, Blu-Ray+R, or both. How am I supposed to know which type of blank Blu-Ray media to buy when it becomes available in, let's say, Spring of '07?
- kkaabboomm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i love the fact that now i can use my hd-dvd-r's that i bought from wal-mart last night can now be burned using my favorite burning program, and not just through some other companies burning software.
oh. wait. hd-dvd-r's and bluray-r etc wont be out for like a year or two. oh well. nice to know nero's thinking of the future. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Not really, I'd still need 40-50 discs every time I want to do a full backup.
- Pil0tFlame, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1To get rid of Nero Scout, go Start->Run...
regsvr32 /u "C:Program FilesCommon FilesAheadLibMediaLibraryNSE.dll"
Fix0red! - matriculated, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1/laughs as icespide
- hipsterelitist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1my hd-dvd burner is so much faster than my blu-ray burner. i don't know why nero bothered to support it.
