- pradaaddict, on 02/08/2009, -5/+21cool. I just wish Twitter was more popular, im the only one of my peers who even know what Twitter is.
- WordSmithGuy, on 02/07/2009, -9/+20Perhaps more than any other social messaging service, Twitter is constantly on the cutting edge of new and creative methods of posting and viewing. Many journalists now regularly check Twitter on their PDA's, Smart Phones & iPhones to stay in touch with the pulse of our culture.
- azathothx, on 02/08/2009, -1/+7Pulse of our culture? Tell me you're not that pretentious in real life. Please.
- jrtcs, on 02/09/2009, -1/+4It's good that somebody lists these same Twitter applications every couple of days. I would never had heard of Twhirl for the 500th time.
- MattVarney, on 02/08/2009, -0/+3Because checking the webpage every half hour to see if someone said something to me is annoying. I'd rather use something that alerts me so I don't have to worry about it.
- Phocion55, on 02/08/2009, -1/+4Digg comment threads?
- RobotBuddha, on 02/08/2009, -0/+3Twitter isn't a deep conversation I need, or want, to think about. It's the guy passing you in the hallway saying "Hey, don't forget that x is happening tomorrow" or just water cooler conversation. The kind that should be at the corner of my attention, not the focus of it.
- Thomaschaaf, on 02/08/2009, -4/+6I only use the web client so I don't tweet all day but actually get stuff done :)
- Inflammo, on 02/08/2009, -7/+9Twhirl is my favorite desktop client
- skeen07, on 02/08/2009, -2/+4This is a pretty big misconception of the service. I use it as sort of my 2nd Digg (after Reddit).
- inactive, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2@WhoDoneIt
10-3=6? - eihwaz, on 02/08/2009, -3/+5Did you read the article? Web (aka twitter.com) is in the 1st place, with almost 30% of users.
- DuMbGuM, on 02/11/2009, -0/+1Wtf are you digg me down for?? In TwitterFONs own words.. "Landscape compose mode is on the list, but it's a bit lower priority task. It will be available at some point in the future, but not on next". It's an important feature for a lot of people.
- DirtyVicar, on 02/08/2009, -2/+3You already have it. Everyone has it!
- makario, on 09/03/2009, -0/+1Hypocrite.
- WhoDoneIt, on 02/08/2009, -1/+2It's still a valid question even though Twitter is the most used. Why do the other 60% of users feel like they need something other than twitter.com?
- NicoNicoNico, on 02/08/2009, -2/+3Or, you know, get it in text messages. If you have unlimited texting, it's free. I have the poor man's iPhone (LG Vu) so it's the only way I can access Twitter other than going online.
- xino, on 02/08/2009, -1/+1Try twhirl once and you will see it's much nicer. Twitter.com on my PC is much different than any other PC I've used because when I type in the tweet field, it lags like crazy. I can type 5 words quickly and have to wait about 10 seconds for them to appear. Besides that, twitter.com works fine as well as all other websites.
- zeroshiftsl, on 02/08/2009, -1/+1I can text for free using BeeJive IM, but people just need to reply to it, so I couldn't use it for twitter. So, it's tweetie for me. Not to mention that if you follow a lot of people on twitter, you would be getting texts all of the time.
- BlaenkDenum, on 02/08/2009, -1/+1You mean one that uses growl notifications? I believe twitterific does that.
- inactive, on 02/09/2009, -1/+1... to post about poop?
- spaceout, on 02/09/2009, -0/+0Check http://twitdom.com/ for a list of over 400 Twitter apps
- misterhollywood, on 05/25/2009, -0/+0Well this is really cool, Twitc, the site I've been raving about was published on Mashable.com the day I joined Twitter and they say it is the #3 top site for posting video. I'm not much of a video person myself but I think it is #1 for pro photography sharing on Twitter. That's probably the next article you'll see about this.
Here is Mashable's article:
http://mashable.com/2009/05/23/video-for-twitter/ - networksecrets, on 02/11/2009, -0/+0I read this story from following Mr. Mashable on Twitter, and nothing is private anymore...lol. I got a very good tutorial on Twitter Leader Generation at http://www.twitterleadgeneration.com
- MrChunks, on 02/08/2009, -5/+5Why did they have to call those messages "tweets" though? Anything, ANYTHING but "tweets".
- inactive, on 02/08/2009, -11/+10Geeze, how many apps does one need just to let people know when your taking a dump? NOTE: Going poop as i write this with Opera mini.
- BrendanSheehan, on 02/08/2009, -5/+4Tweetie on iPhone, Twitterrific on OS X.
- Thomasaka, on 02/09/2009, -3/+2TwitterFox most of the time.. PowerTwitter add-on for when I'm using twitter.com
- positron, on 02/08/2009, -8/+7DestroyTwitter: fully featured, no nonsense, resource friendly.
- MCA2142, on 02/08/2009, -5/+3I guess Blu is just too recent
http://www.thirteen23.com/experiences/desktop/blu/ - YankeeSR23, on 02/08/2009, -3/+1I have an iPhone so I just have a text message setup to send my status to Twitter and Facebook.
I have the Tweetie app too but for some reason I can't figure out who actually keeps the webpage open when its just easier to text. I have a few friends that I follow that I set to get their tweets on my phone. the rest I read online when I am bored. - seinman, on 02/08/2009, -3/+1Are there any Twitter apps for OS X that run a ticker across the bottom/top of your screen with recent tweets? I found a Firefox plugin that does it, but can't find a standalone app with this functionality.
- inactive, on 02/08/2009, -4/+2They need to change the name
Sounds like a name for a vibrating butt-plug - ThinkBox, on 02/08/2009, -3/+1Tweetie for the iPhone is better than anything. I love it, great navigation and great features. I LOVE the layered menu system with tweets. It's such a good app! Everyone NEEDs to get it if you have an iPhone. I promise you, you wont regret it!
- popltree2, on 02/08/2009, -3/+1I use Twinkle on the iPhone and TwitterFox on the computer.
- inactive, on 02/08/2009, -13/+10Twitter: the Internet toilet for everyone's micro-blogging diarrhea
- oliverschultz, on 02/08/2009, -3/+0I used to use Twitterfox,
but ever since the Firefox 3.0.6 update, it doesn't seem to work.
So Tweetdeck is my friend right now - inactive, on 02/08/2009, -6/+3Twitter jumped the shark in 2008. Totally lame and gay at this time.
- andarnold, on 02/08/2009, -4/+1twitter.com/setharnold
see what I did there? - xerocint, on 02/08/2009, -5/+1Digsby, anyone?
- DuMbGuM, on 02/08/2009, -6/+2Nah, TwitterFON has no landscape mode !
- Jarrane, on 02/08/2009, -6/+2Lots of us know what Twitter is, we just thing the concept is ridiculously idiotic and choose not to use it. :)
- mark076h, on 02/08/2009, -7/+2Twhirl for desktop, Twitterrific for my iPhone, both work great.
- jaredburgin, on 07/10/2009, -8/+3What is so wrong with just using Twitter.com? Is it too much to open your browser?
- TheWebMix, on 02/08/2009, -10/+5I have to say Tweetdeck is where it's at right now. Being able to set up all the custom columns and groups is a great feature.
- Digglet69, on 02/08/2009, -7/+2TwitterFON is all you need it does everything and its free =]
