- VipeNess, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yea, and im the pope. hackers will get it working, just because microsoft said no.
- CapnCornflake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3So, just to run the latest games, I'd have to use an OS that is so bloated it requires half a gig of RAM just to function correctly?
If game publishers start to support this idiocy, well, somebody is getting shot. - Lorian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think it'll be a long time after Vista is released when developers start using DirectX 10 if it's only avaliable on Vista, as a lot of people won't want to upgrade. Microsoft are basically saying to developers, "Don't use DX10".
- Knoton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Haven't we known that Dx10 was not doable in XP for months?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yet another reason to switch to Linux
- cquinnd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The "latest games" that would take advantage of what Directx10 has to offer would take half a gig of RAM by themselves (if you believe that Vista will take that much too).
If you are not running a system spec'd for those games in the first place, then WTH are you complaining about? - phpirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow. They're just releasing everything possible exclusively for vista so people buy it. The cheapest corperate tatic ever.
Everybodies gonna download it now. - Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Haha, what a jerk :-)
- dvdjon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I didnt write it, i just read it and saw the article mention it... you should really be sure before you say stuff.
- dvdjon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3o.o Did u even read the full view?
Says : Source: X-bit labs - thebusdriver, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2***** Microsoft, bastards. I dont want to buy Vista to play DX10 games, thats *****.
- cquinnd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Its not *****. Vista is the first MS OS to enable the desktop to be fully hardware accelerated.
XP and below do not, and Directx 10 requires that support to function correctly. - Tommy2k4, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Dupe: http://digg.com/software/Microsoft_Will_Not_Release_DirectX_10_for_Windows_XP
That site has also copied the article I digged word-for-word without linking to the source - Tommy2k4, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Thanks for making me look like an idiot by editing your article after I pointed out that you are a ripper
