Microsof Silverlight Demo

on10.net — Previously known as WPF/E, it's a rich extensible platform for apps and media in general, and it's cross-platform(Safari and Firefox on Macs included, Wikipedia says other platforms are still being considered). Seems like a cool technology, though I'm rooting for it to be linux compatible.

  • likewhoa, on 10/15/2007, -0/+1Microsoft is making an effort with collaboration with Novell on a project called Moonlight which will be the Open Source silverlight plugin.
  • schestowitz, on 10/15/2007, -4/+1It is **NOT** cross platform and Microsoft is abusing the term. It does not run on many platforms and developers who take Microsoft's word for it will receive many calls of complaint because content will not be available to many clients.

    This is precisely why Judge Jackson ordered the the company should be spilt. This is a case where the software business comes to the rescue of the O/S biz, by 'punishing' the rivals in the market.
