People still use limewire ??? - aldoyle, on 12/11/2008, -0/+20Use the torrent for the album but tell it to only download the specific song.
- csimpkins, on 12/11/2008, -1/+20This is the feature I've been waiting for! Now I feel like I can finally stop using Napster.
- ileftfark, on 12/11/2008, -0/+101) Why couldn't you buy music online legally before?
2) Songbird has built-in skreemr support(and tons of other sites), that allows you to copy any .mp3 found online directly into your library. So you could very well be downloading songs from someone else for free, which is the crux of Limewire anyway. - TehProphet, on 12/11/2008, -0/+9I'd like to see you try that when some ***** decides to RAR it.. >.< WHY?? I never understood why anyone would RAR a CD.
- ieee, on 12/11/2008, -1/+9I've been using it on a PC that is over 6 years old with no performance problems whatsoever.
- Nephersir7, on 12/11/2008, -1/+8Download the Open-Source Frostwire instead (its like the limewire pro, but for free, as in free beer and speech)
- liquidhalcyon, on 12/11/2008, -0/+6Frostwire.
- Atertract, on 12/11/2008, -0/+6Goddamn, people, read the ***** article. Yes, LimeWire is antiquated as hell, but look, they added something new that you might actually find useful.
- macdady843, on 12/11/2008, -3/+8I know everyone uses Bittorrent/Utorrent whatever, and I do too. But Limewire is really good for getting single songs. When I don't want a whole album I use Limewire. What do you do?
- inactive, on 12/11/2008, -1/+5http://www.limewire.com/download/download.php?vers ...
Click on the end of the "Your download will begin automatically in a few seconds. If it doesn't, you can download the file here." section. - Ratteler, on 12/12/2008, -0/+3***** you all!!!! I'm putting my warez on 5.25" floppy disks and trading them in the stairwell. Catch me NOW beyatches!!!!
- Lane, on 12/11/2008, -1/+4buying a pirate software? Honestly now... you can find limewire pro on limewire for download^^
- macdady843, on 12/11/2008, -1/+4Yea I could use a torrent to download a single song.. but that takes longer to search for and start the download and then it's pretty much pointless to seed.
- bitbytebit, on 12/12/2008, -0/+2even better ..they don't publish your IP and cooperate with the riaa .. unlike limewire
- Easyoffbam, on 12/11/2008, -0/+2Go back to Kindergarten.

- Grazfather, on 12/11/2008, -0/+1I definitely love songbird + skeemr. the final countdown was in my head (thanks to Gob's magic performance on AD) so i jsut searched it, clicked the first result and was good.
- 1807, on 12/11/2008, -0/+1and live nudes
- Ranvier, on 12/11/2008, -0/+1I only used file-sharing and Torrents for music anyway, and MP3 blogs have been much better for me since I discovered them.
- liquidhalcyon, on 12/11/2008, -0/+1Emule FTL, Utorrent.
- isaiasv, on 12/11/2008, -1/+2limewire > u
- inactive, on 12/12/2008, -0/+1so its like DC++ now?
- Anand999, on 12/11/2008, -0/+1P2P apps like Limewire are still better than BitTorrent for finding obscure MP3s. BitTorrent is good for grabbing a relatively new album since there's more than likely still people seeding it. However, it's usually hard to find a seeded torrent of an older album if it's not by a very well known artist.
Limewire-type applications are better in this regard since people don't have to explicitly seed everything, you can just share your entire music directory. - Spinducky08, on 12/12/2008, -0/+1http://cristgaming.com/pirate.swf
- Ratteler, on 12/12/2008, -0/+1Wow! 20% of limewire users aren't using Peerguardian compared to only 15% of of the dummies who torrent.
Interesting. No wait, the other thing: tedious.
-- Bender - bitbytebit, on 12/12/2008, -1/+1limewire cooperates with the riaa .. as they say ..
***** the riaa
use frostwire - gchuang, on 12/15/2008, -1/+1Remobo has had this for a while.. and it leverages BitTorrent to do the private sharing.

- ieee, on 12/11/2008, -1/+1Thanks for the info about songbird. I haven't checked it out yet. I dugg your comment up.
When I first got onto Linux, Limewire was *it* as far as downloading mainstream songs. I was perfectly willing to pay, but services like iTunes and some others did not have linux friendly software.
From what I read about Songbird, I will now be able to use those pay music download services, which is my preference - gman080804, on 12/11/2008, -5/+5limewire? this is the 21st century
- javiero, on 12/11/2008, -1/+1I be ballin.. i buy all my media. what?
- dcharti, on 12/12/2008, -1/+1As of last fall, stats said Limewire was installed on 20 percent of PCs. BitTorrent was installed on 15 percent. It may still be the most popular file-sharing app in the world. At the least it's probably #2.
- Mconline, on 12/11/2008, -2/+2THis looks very interesting. Gona have to head home and try it out myself O.o
