- jonmacgregor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7LOL. You Druplers have a place in the sphere but it's well behind the Joomlaphere now. You should check out 1.5. It far exceeds anything Drupal has on the roadmap.
And don't forget the Joomla team is already working on elements of 2.0 which is another league again. - pushmouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Here Here! I proclaim my love for Joomla!
- skyjuice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Joomla 1.5 ====== The BEST CMS in the WORLD :)
- jlleblanc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Running quite nicely on my Mac :) Great work guys!
- zbilly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5i don't think drupals all that great
- t3st3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3IMHO Drupal is better designed but a way worse developed yet... so Joomla beats it in a bunch of features...
- AmyStephen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Running great on my Windows 2003 / Apache server and on XAMPP on XP. These Joomla! guys are great! Thanks!! :)
- RevMark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It seems that the only people that are coming close to J! 1.5 are people that have the resources to spend thousands to completely hack Drupals core. TWiT.tv is a good example of this. There is no way the average or casual user can get Drupal to do what Leo has had Arktype and Lullabot do.
No matter how you slice it, no matter how pretty you make Drupal, Drupal is still a blog just like Wordpress. - Aristocrat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Works beautifully on my Macbook Pro :)
Great work Joomla team - consultclifford, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well done lads - let the games begin!
- prazgod, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Its a beta - not the final thing - we must all remember that
- cozimek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looking good in the Joomlasphere!
- TonyHawley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2^^^ i Agree, its Joomla all the way for me, i been waiting anxiously for this release! Great work guys, heres to a bright future!
- boolean, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7I alyways thought Joomla and Mambo were the best.
Until I met with Drupal. - inSaneELF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Great work.
- bigodines, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Finally its out!
- jpetrov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wonderful OSS CMS. I've been using it since mambo 3.5.
- RevMark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yea. They need to fix the default template and get rid of the tables.
- sastian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2that depends on the template, not the CMS. and from what ive seen the default template shipping with 1.5 still uses tables.
- HarrrB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not Really...the Joomla! 1.5 core still generates tables when displayng content. There are, however, options for displaying modules using div rather than table as the container.
- sastian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wooooo HOOOOOO!
- riceguitar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2DANNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG, 1.5 is a HUGE CHANGE and a Beautiful one at that! It's running on 1AND1 :-) Who knows what they use back there, either way it runs :-)
- antmandotws, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks Joomla Team!
- jeremiah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It looks and feels pretty good so far. The only complaint I have is that the rss feeds produced still strip out url's from the content. Maybe the next release?
- vamba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well done....
thanks to all member of Dev Team, all beta testers, all community around the world to all joomlasphere too - pezholio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice! Is everything tableless now as well?
- jonmacgregor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Excellent work Joomla teams. I can't catch up with the amount of progress since you've "reorganized". Running smoothly on my local right now. Now who's going to be the first non-official Joomla person to develop a new template? There's a challenge.
- draconid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hurrah! I was waiting for this news all day yesterday. I can't wait to try it out over the weekend. Now for the long wait for the production version!
- ccdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1By default, there are tables. But, 1.5 gives you the option to override the default views. So, you could do a 100% tableless site with Joomla now.
- Fuqaha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The new one is sooo slick!!
cant wait for the RC version.
Joomla! ROCKS! - Fairbanks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've been running the pre-beta for some time and this release looks fantastic. I was worried that the team would try to build CMS-utopia and lose focus on the release, but clearly that hasn't happened. Kudos to the Joomla team!!
- joomlaguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Drupal is being left behind I am afraid...
http://www.alexaholic.com/drupal.org+joomla.org - jonmacgregor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All the more telling for Mambo's decline, when you consider Google trends is also pulling together legitimate Mambo searches and sites about dancing.
The pundits who said Joomla! would be a "niche" CMS were how wrong? Totally wrong. - AmyStephen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Trompete - OK. I finally figured out how to respond to a comment. I am new to this Digg stuff! ;-)
Hello Mr. BSQ Sitestats. Thank you for your WONDERFUL third party tool for Joomla!.
It appears that perhaps there might have been a misunderstanding of your "HA" comment, another testimony to the power of our medieval electronic textual communication, hopefully one day to be considered the "smoke signal of the Internet" when we have available new, improved collaborative tools in the future.
When you wrote your comment - it *was* funny! There were only a dozen or so of us from the forums and it sure did feel like an intimate Joomla! crowd! This was an obvious recognition of "friends gathered" and not a slam on the World's Finest Open Source Content Management System Joomla!.
Please do not be discouraged by our misunderstanding. We need you to continue building our free as in no cost and free as in beer logging system which hardly adds an overhead what-so-ever since that was mathematically debated and proven without a shadow of a doubt earlier this year.
You rock! Just like Joomla!. :) Amy - AmyStephen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Working great with WAMPServer, too. Way to go guys!
- andrastudio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks for all the hard work guys.. :)
- t3st3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Additionaly, "users are choosing by eyes".Joomla's default theme is beautiful. It looks like real web app, next generation.Drupal... well, not looking so.At least yet.
- joomlaguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1shhhh, a small team is working on this ;)
- t3st3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1About CMS holywars:) Some small investigation using Google Trends :)
http://www.google.com/trends?q=mambo%2Cjoomla%2Cdrupal%2Cplone%2Ce107&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all - dkarlson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder what's up with the spike in Plone related news?
- reddon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice one fellas, runs sweetly on XP with WAMP5. Can't wait to deploy it for real!
