Ah, that brings back memories from long, long ago. - CyrusG, on 10/12/2007, -10/+151I will never forget how awestruck people were when I would enter FCKGW by memory.
I felt like Data. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+146"Something tells me the new owner of these keys will never even get to activate it once..."
Hm.... Yeah, I guess that IS funny... You're quick. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -20/+141too bad it's not a Pro key
- cappachino22, on 10/12/2007, -2/+95I feel very bad for the person who buys that ...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+88whats worse is that people actually bid on it
- Daveecee, on 10/12/2007, -4/+82AA++++++ article would read again !!!
- fitzpas, on 10/12/2007, -2/+80All the keys you can eat, thanks to stupid people.
http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=opera&rls=en&as_qdr=all&q=%22Computer+Profile+Summary%22+key&btnG=Search - Onikun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+72Actually if you guys read his description those pics are probrably not of what hes selling. He says hes selling one thats from a "Toshiba" machine. If you look closely the pictures are of HP and Emachines.
- podgey22, on 10/12/2007, -8/+79Well neither bid has met the reserve (thankfully) and I've contacted both existing bidders and the auction holder telling them all that the keys are completely useless and are extremely likely to be blacklisted...
Just seemed fair that nobody but the fool that posted the image pays through the teeth for this mistake.
Plus these are OEM copies which you can't even transfer (legally). Chances are they need a specific OEM disk to install from. - andrebsd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+71$8.00 to ship that? lol.
- darrin, on 10/12/2007, -7/+63apt-get install winxp
- mthanded, on 10/12/2007, -3/+43If thats the case then it's even better. Three for the price of one or better yet two for the price of none...

- glock22ownr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+34Heh I knew they were gonna kill the auction... Here's a screen::
http://www.virtualadrian.com/images/auction.jpg - dmurphy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+38OMG! I have 10000 page views on my auction! WTF? It's only bid up to $2.85!?
- javip, on 10/12/2007, -6/+36yes, it's a linux distro
you should try it - lifendeath, on 10/12/2007, -5/+32You wont get 39.95 $ but u'll get 19.975
cause the first key is wrong XH7PY-H4TQK-KX469-7 B 24D-9CJ9M --> its not 8 but B
:P
Wow, now i deserve 19.975 ;), thanks to image recognition techniques used by digg n other by eye sights have become good - defcon8, on 10/12/2007, -7/+34Why feel bad for the seller? He is a complete and utter dolt and so are the people bidding for it.
- batmoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28heh, better option: http://www.israeltorres.org/ez_piracy_at_bestbuy.php
- Knoton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27True the key isn't posted on Wikipedia now, but it once was. Which means it's really still there.

LOL -- Hey, you stole my key ;) - TheBag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21There is a certain irony to that statement when you are using caps lock.
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Apperently envelopes are expensive these days.
- Tr3z0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Ok. Idiots. Read the following very very carefully.
He says his key is stamped Toshiba. He says he is selling ONE key from ONE computer. There are two non-Toshiba keys there. What ThirdPrize was saying is correct. He obviously grabbed that pic off a site somewhere and used it to just show that is isn't selling a CD, but he's selling a sticker.
Masters of the obvious, all of you. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21They're still product keys...
- jstem1994, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/pl/1/1f/Windows_XP_FCKGW.jpg
- csnoke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Yeh... we get it, you're excited.
- electronaught, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20one bidder was "cis_engineer"...that guy must be a bright one. the seller too "oshkoshcomputers" ... i can tell these people know a lot about computers...i mean it's in there username...they must be computer whizes!
- wbgo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Depends which country you live in. The German courts have long since told MS that they cannot dictate how OEM licences are sold/resold.
- BESTenemy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15 Actually, this is not so uncommon. Browse for laptops on e-bay. Many people post high-res pictures of them at the auction. What they don't realize is that most laptops have the OS license key right on the cover. You can collect about 10 windows keys a week that way. Not just the basic XP, but also media edition and sometimes a tablet edition. Check it out yourself. People are dumb!
- johnpombrio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I use OEM copies all the time. I just have to call MicroSoft's 1-800 number and talk to LINDA (who for some strange reason talks with a heavy Indian accent). When I upgrade, my activation is no longer valid so that is when I have to call. I have done it dozens of times.
- chicagobiker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16No, eBay and PayPal fees are what's expensive. They'll take 5% of the final sale and bill ya another 6% in fees.
- testdrivemedia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Or maybe the picture isn't of the actual key he's trying to sell. Ever consider that? I guess not.
- dapaintballer33, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18Hey guess what? eBay DID NOT DELETE THE PICTURE! Here it is!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!--------------------------------------------------!!!!!!!!!!! - ICSU, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17The seller just needs to call Microsoft and ask for a new activation code (if he actually owned the license).
- Nocturnal, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17No you can't.
- sirdaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12He's also done the same with 2 win98 licenses! Granted you cant see the whole number... but still

http://www.thepcspy.com/blog/ms_retrofitting_oem_licences - a0me, on 10/12/2007, -8/+191: Take a pic of XP License
2: Post on eBay
3: ?
4: WTF?
What's next? Email accounts with address and password as proof?
Scanned CD Keys?
The possibilities are infinite!! - drizek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Can you actually sell licenses like this? Wow, I finally found a use for my old emachines.
- Phil246, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13a license which is almost certainly going to be revoked by microsoft. A lose lose situation for both the seller and anyone who buys it
- testdrivemedia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13... and spell 'what' wrong.
- Nocturnal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13@xellos
I've re-used the licenses without any problems before. - sgu222e, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10eBay account: $0
Windows XP Home Edition Key from dumb eBay seller: $39.95
Shipping for item: $0
Value of your new key: Worthless - andrew.bell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10It has e-machines on it. It's probably OEM. Legally he can't sell it, and I doubt it would activate.
