- kevinmotel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+96i want a firefox extension to control the volume inside the browser, nothing worse than playing a flash game with no way to turn off the sound. i still wanna be able to listen to itunes, so muting the system volume doesn't do crap
- Kickersny, on 10/12/2007, -2/+41Try updating to FF2. You right-click on the tab bar -> undo close tab
- ace77, on 10/12/2007, -6/+34Very useful page: extensions organized by category.
- flashboy131, on 10/12/2007, -5/+31Plus goes to "11"
- seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27How about upgrading to FF2.0? Theres nothing wrong with it..
Also, how about fixing your caps lock button? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+31I want a Firefox extension which allows me to filter Digg articles by keyword.
First keyword I'd filter: "Wii."
Second keyword I'd filter: "Bush."
Third keyword I'd filter: "Apple" - UnglueD, on 10/12/2007, -7/+27If/when you upgrade to Microsoft Vista each program has its own specific volume control. So in this case you can mute firefox volume while keeping iTunes rockin'.
A firefox plugin would still be a nice stopgap though. - carlosauresrex, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23download flash mute, you can use it to mute your browsers, or just flash things like those annoying aim ads.
http://www.indev.no/?p=projects#FlashMute - krazytom, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20How about ones that are Firefox 2.0 Friendly.
- PirateFSM, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Oh! Wishlist....
I want a firefox extention that will cache a website on a local machine when the referrer is digg.com. Holders of the extention will then share the page if it stops responding due to being buried. This could make it so that pages never get buried again! - stonebear, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Adblock is no longer being developed.
- stonebear, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14http://digg.com/software/Digg_De-noober:_a_must_have_Grease_monkey_script.
- sbrown123, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Well, since datasrc and datafld are not part of the actual W3 spec, its doubtful you will ever see those in Firefox (or any other browser for that matter). Those fields are even deprecated for Internet Explorer if I remember right.
- cphuntington97, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Oh nice... thanks.
And who said the airing of grievances isn't good? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+14@stonebear: Thankyouthankyouthankyou! Filtering "Wii" should even make the Gaming News section readable again!
@oblongmouth: Kindly ***** off. - DontFretBrett, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12i want firm toned abs
- Yeyui, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8That's brilliant. I wonder how hard it would be (for someone else, of course) to piggyback on current Torrent apps to make that happen. (fully automated of course).
Just make sure that the user can set specific disk space and bandwidth quotas. - z3rgRush, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Ok, so what's the difference between Adblock and Adblock Plus?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5How the ***** are Opera & IE going to compete with this list?
- ChrisGranger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It really depends on the extensions themselves and your computer's performance. I use about 30 extensions with no problem. Some are small and light, some are memory hogs. It doesn't take much time to try a few out and see if you notice a performance hit. Uninstall is simple if you do. YMMV
- icekold, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Well I've returned to my PC in another part of my house that I haven't touched in days, and Gmail will take me straight into my inbox. Try it yourself.
- socokoolaid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is the largest and best organized list of extensions I've come across. This one going in the bookmarks.
- Eccles, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4There's also a "Recently Closed Tabs" list in the History menu.
- brightmarc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2By the way I use http://www.savetube.com to save youtube videos. Just wanted to share this with you all because you probably want to save youtube videos too.
- LouCypher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@flameboy
The extensions are written for Firefox, not vise-versa, so it's the extensions that lack of compatibility with Firefox 2.0 - linuxeventually, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I use flashmute. Its not a firefox extension but it works great with FF. You can set it to block Flash sounds from the browser so you can listen to music instead (:
- ch33sehead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How about a ZOOM extension? And no, not TEXT zoom, PAGE zoom. So many sites aren't displayed correctly in FireFox because the text is tiny, so when you make the text size larger (ctrl+mousewheel), the text gets jumbled together.
- PirateFSM, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Thanks! I want to get the project started but I dont know how to get started! The implications of a system like this could go as far as to end the issue of net neutrality! but i'm getting ahead of myself :-)
- ryanfelix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Kind of a stupid question, but does having more extensions bog down Firefox?
I don't want to install all these extensions that are so useful, but using up so much memory... - crimemastergogo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2like the stumbleupon extension, very useful
- jpb0104, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Tab Mix Plus needs 2.0 support!
- pvande, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'll see your second request and raise you one:
How about one to mimic the Opera "Fast Forward" button? - spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, I've seen that - but still. Its quite laborious to change that on every computer I own.
- kurtu5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I want a firefox extension to display %cpu usage for each page on each tab and let me control the scripts in that tab.
I normally have 20+ tabs open and then all of a sudden firefox goes to 100% cpu. I would like to know which page is hogging my cpu and have the ability to stop the javascript on that page only. I know "no script" lets you stop certain domains from using javascript, but I would like to be able to just enable javascript for a single page. - Litovt555, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1See also http://www.hotredsex.org/index.html

- spisska, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Tab Mix Plus enables undo close tab (and includes a list of closed tabs that can be unclosed).
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1122/
Not sure if its working on 2.0 yet. - mcaaronice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2FF2 no longer goes to the site I select from the address bar dropdown history. I have to select it then hit the "go" arrow to actually get to the site. Anything for that?
- mmeads, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I love Tab Mix Plus, not sure why the guys getting dugdown
Seriously, check it out -- it's one of the most useful extensions i've found (besdies adblock plus) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Who the f still use maxthon?
- mbthompson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2not as far as I can tell, though that's completely anecdotal
- CovardeAnonimo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wanted an extension to surf pr0n... so I installed pornzilla: http://www.squarefree.com/pornzilla/
- JShore, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ctrl + Shift + T restores last tab in Firefox 2.0
- mbthompson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3That really is a phenomenal idea. Any software developers/coders looking to make a name for themselves?
- ericnmu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I want 2 firefox extensions, both mimicking Opera features.
1. an attractive tab list when using ctrl+tab. There is one, but it does not work with FF2 and is ugly.
2. An Opera wand clone. Exactly the same function as wand. - br34ks00n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Stumble is the most addicting thing i've ever used...
- zizzybaloobah, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I've found that AdBlock Plus is a more well-behaved extension than AdBlock. (Can't remember specific problems I had with AdBlock but AdBlock Plus fixed them, or at least masked them). Also if you install AdBlock Plus, go ahead and install the AdBlock Filterset.G Updater at the same time and you'll find that you'll have to adblock very few things manually.
- ChrisGranger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow... extension-based distributed website caching to prevent unintentional DDoS, that's a great idea. Looking forward to seeing this developed!
