Use of Personal Details -
"Our database of personal details (however we collect these details) is used by us, and third parties acting on our behalf, for the following general purposes: providing the IM2 service, improving our services, contacting you, conducting research, customising the advertising and content you see, client administration and marketing related purposes." - launchcode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's got a quite nice interface, but needs a lot of work doing to it yet. It wouldn't connect to ICQ (ICQ status report said my client was out of date and to upgrade!), just seems a bit unstable to me. Will avoid for now.
- ogrerocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I prefer Gaim http://gaim.sourceforge.net, or Miranda IM http://www.miranda-im.org/
- Cybrnetix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I prefer Gaim http://gaim.sourceforge.net,
- fiv3isaliv3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Doesn't seem to exist anymore...
- LucidParody, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what about gaim [ http://gaim.sourceforge.net ]. I've used just about every multi-IM client out there. Gaim seems to be the best in my opinion.
- Kilo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, I just installed it. I like the interface and all. The functionality is okay. It lacked being able to view idle times. I think I speak for every IM enthusiast when I say: screw that.
- jared9985, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0guess I will stick to trillian then :)
- Kerim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0tried 1.4, didn't like it...some of the features didn't even work...
Trillian is better - aekdbbop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i dont like it...
- marklar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Go trillian; im2 uses more resorces
- G-RaZoR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If this is the future of IM, then that industry is fked. Trillian 3.1 blows this thing out of the water. Looks way better imo
- Cheirdal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That just means they'll be getting false name info from me and a newly created gmail account that I won't ever use again.
- dmron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Eh, it seems ok. None of my buddies are at their computers at the moment so i dont know what chatting is actually like, but I think the interface is decent, I dont like the sounds at all though. I'll give it a shot though.
- marathon851, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0installed and experienced at least 4 program crashes in the first 10 minutes
- MoonKing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0MORE resources than Trillian? I didn't realise that was possible.
- Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no plugins? no way....sticking with trillian pro...I have yet to experience a crash with trillian pro 3.1 and have been using it since it first came out....gaim is pretty good....very simple interface tho...go trillian pro!
- sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it looks great but i dont feel like trying it till some1 else does and says how it is also im happy with using trillian 3.1 and gaim!
- Lyphen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This thing still has a long way to go.
- Porkape, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use Trilian Pro and on occassion Gaim, also tried other multi-platform IMs that save me the hassle of having 4-5 seperate IMs. Trillian is way more user friendly with some useful plugins. IM2 is more of the same old nothing special. If you don't use/like Trillian try GAIM its much better than this. I'm gonna stick with Trillian until a better option comes along.
- dorkstyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I tried this out, the newest version 1.5, after logging in i saw my buddy list, I IM'd two people, i exited. I started the program up again and my buddy list was gone, it DELETED my entire buddy list from the AIM server! I lost over 120 contacts, mostly work contacts! i found logs on about half of them but the rest are gone FOREVER! i Highly suggest against this software! i am keeping my gaim and never switching again!
- engalicorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0is it just me or does their logo look like the ubuntu logo? http://www.ubuntulinux.org/
- test5477, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no mac, no me
- LiquidGUI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Miranda IM all the way http://miranda-im.org
Its free, its open source, highly customizable, stable, supports more protocols than any other IM app, and you can make it look like Adium for the Macc :P - jared9985, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0has anyone tried this? Is it actually better than trillian?
- aplardi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks like I'm going to keep using Trillian, this doesnt really float my boat, and GAIM doesnt have the features that I like Trillian for.
- dazzla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Doesn't look as if it even supports plugin?
- JaggedDragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I don't like it. The RAM and Mhz requirements are too high. Also, I wasn't able to import my Trillian contacts.
GAIM is the same way. I need a lightwieght client. Trillian is the lightest weight one I've found, and it works fine.
NO DIGG - LiquidGUI, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0*Mac
- pukkalb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Their download servers are even slow. If I can't download at a decent rate, then forget it...
