  • dougs55, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2When radio was invented people thought that radio would bring world peace. When police cars first got radio people thought that it would end crime. In the 1990s people thought that democracy was an emergent feature of the internet.

    Having said that, I actually like twitter even though it took me a while to "get it". My life is still the same though. ;-)

Instead, it focuses on the overall concept and it's role in our changing online landscape. I think it would be pretty swell to see more positive writings like this about the opportunities as opposed to only the harsh criticism and highlighting of misunderstandings of particular individuals.

    It seems a lot of people hate it on here because it's "trendy" or the "in thing" to hate it.

    It's actually a pretty nice tool for keeping in contact with your friends in 140 or less characters.
