- runbmd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I got my letter from H&R block today, checked the CD, and sure enough, there was my social security number. Dumb bastards.
- staticpage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just moved to this apartment and I get mail form the previous occupant. Guess what I have on my desk, her mail and her copy of "tax cut" with her SSN.
Then I got mine, I’m very upset this is unacceptable and shows me how H&R really handle my information. - C0D3R, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dugg since some still have the mailer (see comments above.)
H&R says, "If you threw the wrapper away, it is now in your local landfill with literally tons of other holiday season discards, so it's unlikely that someone would find it or recognize the discarded wrapper as being significant in any way."
Now that this is public knowledge, H&R should be telling users to shred. - daurkin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't use H&R but if this is true this is really F'd Up.
- capn_crunch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0#!@%^ i'm holding my dad's copy in my hand and I can see it.
- mrcarxpert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sure enough, here's mine sitting on my desk with my SSN. You'd think they'd at least offer to do my taxes for free this year.
