- rustybrick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I made it because no one else had a Mac dashabord version, and I used the Bloglines version, so I needed it bad.
- mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I guess this widget is cool if all you want to know is if you have new items, and also if your menubar is fairly packed already, but I prefer the Google Reader Notifier app. Not a widget, but a much more elegant solution.

- Burento, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I think it is very cool. So many widgets out there are just lame and don't have a real use. This is one of the few that i think may make it to be in the must have list.
- nevenmrgan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just leave Reader open in a tab and I can see right in the tab's title how many unread items I have. More convenient than going into Dashboard every 5 minutes if you ask me...
- bugsy187, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can add a Google reader module to your Google personalized home... and it works on a PC or Mac.

- dayquil, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3why is everyone crapping their pants over this? is the number really that useful? I mean sure, it's nice but get me an actual reader, then you're my hero. until then, this:
http://troelsbay.eu/software/reader
gets me a whole lot more information and access options. - ionut, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Unfortunately, Google Reader counts only to 100.
- esteban, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Personally I never ever manage to read all the items in my rss feeds, there just is not enough time. I don't think knowing how many unread items I have would matter to me.
- DMCer, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1Why would you use Google Reader when you can just use Safari's RSS bookmarking?
- kevincupp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's also one for Firefox, just puts the same number down in the status bar. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3977/
- Mikecol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This isn't a reader, it's a widget. What are you talking about?
- t.y., on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i found the google notifier app a resource hog. i hope this widget fairs better
- autodata, on 10/12/2007, -0/+110039 unread items in mine. Somehow I doubt that I'll get to all of them. ;-)
- mmarvin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I really tried to use this but it seems like other readers work better for me. Maybe I am missing something? I use google for most things just not google reader. Its great that there is another widget though. These are great things.
- DiamondMaven, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Cool!!
