- Johnath, on 04/23/2008, -1/+182The combination of one-click bookmarking and the FF3 awesomebar makes it *shockingly* easy to find sites. Other browsers (including FF2) actually physically hurt, now.
- Vic333, on 04/23/2008, -0/+127Nice site. I bookmarked it.
- Gooie, on 04/23/2008, -2/+95That's awesome, i hope you can get rid of that irremovable bookmarking folder in this version.
- Myonosken, on 04/23/2008, -1/+58Awesome bar? It used to be "***** I didn't deelete my porn history. Best not type in "sex" at the start of any URLs- now you have to avoid typing in any part of a URL.
Mozilla hate us porn fans :( - ahpro, on 04/23/2008, -2/+35This needs more diggs. This is one of the most annoying thing about firefox.
- danwallace, on 04/23/2008, -0/+30I don't know if you know this, but we're VERY lazy after we've "finished" with those sites.
- Chirp08, on 04/23/2008, -1/+30I gotta admit, I downloaded the lastest FF3 beta for osx thinking "meh, its just another version of firefox, this isn't going to be anything new" and I was completely wrong. The new UI is amazing, I love the "feel" of things like autocomplete, I love how the most popular/recent links are at the top of the autocomplete list. I love the new bookmarking features. It's incredibly fast and actually looks like an OSX application while maintaining an identity distinguished from safari. I can't wait for the final.

- vudicarus, on 04/23/2008, -0/+26The tagging system needs simple improvement for me to use. As it is, you can't select multiple bookmarks and tag as a group. The tags show up in a long list in a small window which you can't resize, so there's a lot of scrolling.
Additionally doing a quick unfiled bookmark is easy. But if you want to file it like the old way, there's more button clicking.
The awesome bar is, however, awesome. - aliguana, on 04/23/2008, -1/+26rhetorical: what's that got to do with a bookmarking system?
- akkibaba, on 04/23/2008, -2/+221. Type about:config in the location bar.
2. Type in browser.urlbar.maxRichResults , set it to zero if you want it switched off.
3. Bask in the open source goodness that is FF3.
Cheers - edwoodjr, on 04/23/2008, -1/+20I'm using del.icio.us for bookmarking systematically now. I'd really like to use that, but I need my bookmarks accessible from any computer, not only locally. Plus : this does not appear to have any social features : it really helps seeing how other people have categorised your bookmark.
- Tyr7BE, on 04/23/2008, -0/+19Agreed. I basically don't bookmark any of my dailies anymore. I just type two letters into the bar and it pops up.
- santaliqueur, on 04/23/2008, -3/+21Enough motivation to write a useless post, but too lazy to use all the letters in the word "people"?
- santaliqueur, on 04/23/2008, -0/+16Then you don't know how to back them up, or how to retrieve them if there is a problem. Your fault.
- HonoredMule, on 04/23/2008, -0/+16Case precariously placed on a high shelf is unbalanced by the force of a speeding-up exhaust fan blowing against a wall. Case then topples onto desk lamp, which swings wildly into monitor. Monitor and lamp both shatter, short-circuiting each other and showering sparks and electrified, hot substances to paperwork on desk. Sparks set paperwork aflame, and the still-running exhaust fan from the now-toppled case blows flames into user's face, singing beard, and flaming scraps of paper into user's lap.
DVD spinning at 10,000 RPMs...what a load of bollocks. - svivian, on 04/23/2008, -1/+17Has it not occurred to you to delete your recent history after you've "finished" with those sites?
- Kamael, on 04/23/2008, -6/+21The tagging system is good, but for lazy ppl like me it won't help...
- onefreakykid, on 04/23/2008, -1/+15Not quite 10,000 RPM, but in my shop we hacked a cd-burner type program to eject the cd during the final process. It resulted in a CD being flung across a room at about 5,400 RPM.
- sickswaystop, on 04/23/2008, -1/+15I love that tag/search feature. I am always hesitant to bookmark an assload of sites -not anymore!
- doshindude, on 04/23/2008, -3/+17I've been using the FF3 beta for a while now...while the new bookmarking features are nice, the process of simply bookmarking a page seems to take longer....that window never seems to pop up as fast as it did in FF2.

- SnowCrashv5, on 04/23/2008, -1/+14Don't let that latte you sipped on this morning spew in your britches over it.
- HonestAbe, on 04/23/2008, -0/+13I dumped Google Toolbar a long time ago. There are better, more dedicated extensions for each of the functions it provides.
- SnowCrashv5, on 04/23/2008, -5/+17i love me some firefox, don't get me wrong but there's nothing revolutionary about the new bookmarking system. It's probably more impressive under the hood than it is in actual use. Not to mention the way they utilize the sql-lite db for the new bookmark system creates performance issues. If your firefox profile resides on one disk and the application on another, it causes a lag in the application (both on windows and linux, haven't tried a mac). This also happens with portable versions of firefox for windows. The only current solution is to periodically (once a day) delete the sql-lite file and allow FF to start from scratch. There's already been some bugs filled regarding this, but the release date for version 3 is too soon to change anything regarding the issue.
- inactive, on 04/23/2008, -1/+13Wait, how does that even happen?
- xlneoMAXlx, on 04/23/2008, -1/+12And it was EASY!
- aliguana, on 04/23/2008, -0/+11I dunno, I never used the bookmarks in FF2, I'm pretty much used to the Delicious way of doing things. I hope they get the plugin updated for FF3 soon or I'm going to be knackered.
- thailand1972, on 04/23/2008, -1/+11Lucky for me I live a hermit-like existence and have no friends, so no chance of someone shoulder-surfing me as I browse the web.
- UberNick, on 04/23/2008, -0/+10Foxmarks should have an update soon as well.
- HenvY, on 04/23/2008, -0/+9You mean the one thats used for RSS feeds?
- TRScheel, on 04/23/2008, -1/+10Foxmarks works with Firefox 3 Beta 5 (I know because I currently use it).
- theaceoffire, on 04/23/2008, -0/+9Then set it up to automatically delete your history, cookies, and passwords on every exit.
The option exists in the "privacy" tab in options. - Chirp08, on 04/23/2008, -2/+11what if you want to go back tomorrow though?
- plizard, on 04/23/2008, -0/+8use igoogle and your bookmarks are always around :)
- miga, on 04/23/2008, -4/+12i hope you can switch that off again! I don't like the prediction mode. I prefer the old bookmark system!
- Big-Pat, on 04/23/2008, -2/+10Really?! It's nearly instantaneous for me in both FF2 and FF3b5
- Planets, on 04/23/2008, -3/+10"Other browsers (including FF2) actually physically hurt, now."
I don't think you're supposed to be using your face to type.
;) - aliguana, on 04/23/2008, -0/+7*Sits and waits for ALL the FF plugins to become compatible with FF3. They'd better bloody hurry up about it too, FF3 will be final in a few weeks.
- RaiderWolf, on 04/23/2008, -0/+7I would.
- Johnath, on 04/23/2008, -0/+7It will! You're on betas, no doubt, whereas the author appears to be on nightlies. The HUD-style theming landed recently.
- inactive, on 04/23/2008, -0/+7There's a del.icio.us extension for Firefox which'll work for FF3 soon, I'm sure.
- AdamFromMyspace, on 04/23/2008, -0/+7You found a computer that will run Supreme Commander?
- rishid, on 04/23/2008, -0/+6The official delicious extension does work with Fx 3.0 beta 5. You just have to download the beta version from the yahoo group.
Here is the link: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/delicious-firef ... - inactive, on 04/23/2008, -0/+6FF2's treeview for organizing sucked ass even before this upgrade. It never sorted the way you expected, creating directories could only be done in certain places and no right click menus. Even Windows Explorer puts FF 2 bookmarks to shame.
Excuse me if I'm not excited (yet). Anything is better than what they have now. - MWeather, on 04/23/2008, -4/+10Clicking the star, then clicking OK takes too long?
- Naidel, on 04/23/2008, -2/+8Or use a separate password protected user you login to when you wanna browse some hot pr0n.
- comrade693, on 04/23/2008, -1/+7eh, what?
- HonestAbe, on 04/23/2008, -1/+7"except it puts it in an 'unfiled bookmarks' folder that isn't accessible from the bookmarks menu. Why not put it in the root of the bookmarks?"
Because then your bookmarks menu would look like mine; impossible to navigate because of the hundreds of thing stored in it. Keeping everything in "Unfiled Bookmarks" and finding them with tags and URL search is a great idea. - badassninja, on 04/23/2008, -0/+5Then the problem is you. You should spend a little less time worry about your brother and alittle more time thinking about you.
