- tmacfan123, on 06/09/2009, -5/+29So this means it won't be released for at least 35 more days? *sigh*
- jessegrondin, on 06/09/2009, -3/+24They deemed that too much changed for just a .1 version changed.
- schnikies79, on 06/09/2009, -7/+2535 days? why not just an article or two?
There isn't 35 days worth of interesting stuff to talk about. - jessegrondin, on 06/09/2009, -0/+16No.
And it probably won't show up till version 4. - mvent2, on 06/09/2009, -0/+16No, it just has 35 days worth of demos. 3.5 will be released earlier, the plan was to have demos before and after release.
- ARanc, on 06/09/2009, -1/+16What they have done for developers is good, now its time for the rest of the browsers to follow.

works about 90% of the time - TheVirus, on 06/09/2009, -4/+16Going to 3.5 b4 was a huge improvement in overall speed. It felt like Chrome and most popular addons have already been updated to work with this version. It's unreal how fast this new JS engine is.
Good work, Firefox team, this is one of the best releases to date. - SmokedL, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1135*2 articles != 35 days of talk.
You do realise that this is targeted at web-developers? Surely you read the article?
I'm guessing you're not a developer, if you are: Really? You really feel that 70 articles about how to develop for new web features cannot be merited? A rough guestimate of the number of articles on development for the web I've read would be several thousand.
Given the amount of new stuff coming in 3.5, 70 articles is easily merited, and will be immensely useful to developers that care about being good at what they do. - samk, on 06/09/2009, -0/+10I've grown to hate Firefox upgrades because most of my extensions stop working, and developers are slow to update them.
- x713, on 06/09/2009, -1/+10You mean flash using 300mb of memory? Even then, I think you may have a problem that needs to be fixed.
- johndatserakis, on 06/09/2009, -0/+9A pleading troll. This is a new low for trolls everywhere.
- doshindude, on 06/09/2009, -0/+9When does 3.5 officially come out, anyway?
- ligyron, on 06/09/2009, -4/+12What happened to 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4?
- Barbarino, on 06/09/2009, -0/+7I tried the beta, I like it, but my comp is old, 2001 old but runs fine, but when I try the new fancy features of FF 3.5 like html 5 and that video where it just plays, my computer comes to crashing halt, barely plays any of it. Not sure if I'm the only person to have this happen to.
- getoffmybridge, on 06/09/2009, -2/+9Shucks
- RadiatedAnt, on 06/09/2009, -0/+73.5? I'm already on 3.6a, nightly trunks FTW!
- PinkyTheWinky, on 06/09/2009, -0/+6Maybe it wasn't finnished?
- Culyt, on 06/09/2009, -1/+7pfft nuub...
I edit the sourcecode and make the version number 10.x !!!! - Krelas, on 06/09/2009, -0/+6Do you seriously having nothing better to do than poorly troll Digg?
- mvent2, on 06/09/2009, -0/+5Ok.
- benologist, on 06/09/2009, -1/+6"There isn't 35 days worth of interesting stuff to talk about."
I'm sure the blogs pandering to digg will each find at least a couple things a day to post about. - Hellahulla, on 06/09/2009, -0/+5Sadly never works for the only Finnish spell check dictionary. Had to wait until a few months ago for it to work with v3 :(
Yes, my spelling sucks, it's not my native language. - PsychoBrat, on 06/09/2009, -0/+5Short answer: when it's done.
Longer answer: when all remaining "blocker bugs" have been resolved: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?query_for ... - MicrosoftBob, on 06/09/2009, -0/+4Your facade is wearing thin, mon frère.
- getoffmybridge, on 06/09/2009, -5/+9Will each tab be its own process?
- TheDude01, on 06/09/2009, -0/+4It's all very cool, and all. But for me as a web developer that doesn't really mean anything. What are worth features that work only in Firefox, when half of the web users IE :(
Firefox is awesome, and I love it, but from a developer standpoint it's just a dream until every other browser follows. - Chakat, on 06/09/2009, -0/+4That sounds more like a flash problem than a firefox problem.
- Hellahulla, on 06/09/2009, -0/+4As far as I know, Mozilla releases go up in halves nowadays whereas development releases can go up in smaller revisions.
- MtheoryX, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3"For instance, who ever needs to open a new browser window?"
People who want to see two things simultaneously.
That was easy, wasn't it? - PsychoBrat, on 06/09/2009, -1/+3If you'd taken the time to look over the planning pages, you'd know that there is indeed 35 days worth of interesting stuff to talk about.
- MtheoryX, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2Long troll post is loooooooooong.
- Culyt, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2I've only ever had problems on 64bit, no crashes or anything major just sometime needs a browser restart.
32bit has been rock solid for ages. - ben162005, on 06/09/2009, -1/+3Maybe fix some memory leaks???
- HonoredMule, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2Times change and progress happens...but it has to start somewhere.
- PinkyTheWinky, on 06/09/2009, -0/+23.0 Solved the memory leaks. If your memory conscious why not use lynx?
- HonoredMule, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2***** the hype and just release it already! You know it's going to be at LEAST a good 3 months AFTER the release before all our needed extensions are supported anyway. So why bother ironing out every last kink in something we STILL won't be able to use no matter how perfect it is? I'm tired of waiting!
- schnikies79, on 06/09/2009, -2/+3I've looked over them. There isn't a piece of software on earth that is worth 35 days of dialogue.
- pentiumii, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1it more like a ubuntu problem
Debian Lenny does not have the trouble
in fact Debian Lenny runs firefox really really fast
my kids use ubuntu and have issues with flash either running slow or crashing
simple work around is to uninstall ubuntu version of firefox and install manually and do not use flash from ubuntu repositories all so just install your self
much much faster and stable going this way - JasonHaley, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1I haven't had the problem in Jaunty..did you do a fresh install?
- SpookyET, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2For Mac integration, 3.6 is what you want. The current Minefield already supports the Services Menu. It will support Keychain and AppleScript. 3.5 on the Mac still feels like an ugly bastard, even with the GrApple themes. Some controls don't render right or render in blue instead of graphite. Drop-down menus are clearly not native. On some sites, the form controls lose the Aqua and look like Windows 95. The only reason why I have Firefox installed is because of http://feedly.com <---- awesome.
- masykur, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1but firefox is myfavorite browser....with all good addon
http://stopdreamingstartaction.almuhsin.or.id - aserer511, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2JUST got it because of this. Not too shabby!
- thumbmaster021, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1If Firefox is cancer...what the hell is IE? O_O
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2The one problem I forsee is that a lot of people wouldn't have upgraded their browsers. The fact is: 99% of computers have Flash installed, and frankly, Flash does the job. Remember how long it took people to ditch Internet Explorer 6. Hell, a lot of people still have IE 6... All these pure HTML/Javascript apps will only work for a small portion of people with up-to-date browsers, meaning, they're going to be a niche for a long time. Frankly, I blame Microsoft and their crappy IE.
- MicrosoftBob, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1I have no idea wha
- ammi, on 06/09/2009, -4/+4But how will it help me download porn faster?
- pmc64, on 06/09/2009, -2/+2by the end of the month
