I think you messed up somewhere, submitter. - inactive, on 04/22/2009, -0/+21prepared to get buried.
- domenics, on 04/23/2009, -10/+29This will be worthy of the front page the day they release the version that STOPS LEAKING MEMORY 24/7.
Firefox, I love you man, but please for the love of FSM stop taking all my rams. - InactiveCargo, on 04/23/2009, -0/+16WrongWrong you'reWrong
- bigboss89, on 04/23/2009, -0/+14i think you forgot a firefox in there
- PhillAholic, on 04/23/2009, -0/+9Security through obscurity would be not fixing a security problem, because you don't think people know about it, maybe because your code is closed source. Your security defense is to do nothing, because your code is closed and people can't easily find the bug.
- rebelcommander, on 04/23/2009, -2/+11I hear ya! I love Firefox (especially my extensions) but the memory issue is way too big. I switched to Chrome since each tab is a new process, thus making memory management easier.
- PhillAholic, on 04/23/2009, -0/+9I stopped noticing Firefox's memory usage when I was forced to start using iTunes again. It uses more Ram then firefox open with 10 tabs. Both could use a smaller footprint if you ask me.
- Kaegro, on 04/23/2009, -0/+8Can Chrome be used on a jump drive like you can with Firefox?
- centii, on 04/23/2009, -4/+11firefox forever.
- amitait, on 04/23/2009, -1/+7* Fixed several security issues.
* Fixed several stability issues.
* Many users experienced an issue where a corrupt local database caused Firefox to “lose” its stored cookies. (bug 470578)
* Fixed an issue where, starting with Firefox 3.0.7, inline image attachments on popular webmail services (like AOL and AIM) would not display. (bug 482659)
* Large forms would sometimes take a long time to submit. (bug 426991)
* In certain cases, new windows would not have proper focus. (bug 446568)
http://tinyurl.com/cocf4x - MentalBeaver, on 04/23/2009, -1/+7The update broke the HTML Validator extension (caused Firefox to crash) but there is an updated version of it available.
- TheDudeDean, on 09/13/2009, -5/+10Seems to have more cowbell.
- BTime, on 04/23/2009, -0/+4Open 2-3 websites in firefox, walk away for 2-3 hours. The memory usage for firefox will often double/triple even though you haven't interacted with the browser. That's a problem.
- A5204, on 08/13/2009, -0/+4What happens when Firefox catches up with WoW?
- InactiveCargo, on 04/23/2009, -0/+3I too have been having problems with "the Firefox"
- Ksg89, on 04/23/2009, -0/+3I should hope so, releaseing a update that doesnt fix any issues, kinda seems pointless to me.
- MentalBeaver, on 04/23/2009, -0/+3Goodbye, you're going.
- theOster, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2crappy add-ons?
- MScrip, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2All software needs patches... especially web browsers that get on the Internet.
But, will Firefox ever be the kind of malware spreading beast that IE was? - TrellSaracen, on 04/28/2009, -0/+1Yeah, that totally explains why Opera has no unpatched vulnerabilities right now.
- dsmx, on 04/23/2009, -1/+2Then I suggest you stop using so many add ons, most of the memory leaks are caused by the add ons not firefox.
- PhillAholic, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1@TrellSaracen Not sure if you mean Opera is doing what I said, or if you were being sarcastic. Opera is a well respected browser that has been out for 15 years. I'm sure they aren't practicing Security through Obscurity, however Millions of people are going to find more bugs in something that is opened source then the staff members that have access to Opera are going to find even if the code was identical. That's just logical.
- phrozen2nd, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1Yes, there is a Chrome portable, just do a google search for it. I must admit that I use Opera portable before I use Chrome.
- DarkShroud, on 04/23/2009, -1/+2Not sure about Chrome, but Opera has been allowing that long before Chrome.
- Tr0yNT, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1Cowbell Night SNL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGBD1KUz2RA&fea ...
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1if they said its IE8 fixing bugs
they will say who still use IE... IE sucks
lol - tenderstorm, on 04/28/2009, -1/+1HAHAAA- ***** 3.0.10 IS AVAILABLE ALREADY! Wankers.
- kataleen, on 04/27/2009, -1/+1The rest of Five Billion security holes, problems and nagging issues remain, as usual, unsolved.
- dsmx, on 04/24/2009, -1/+1Well then you could always do something drastic like close firefox. It saves your tabs so what's the problem?
- vnoma, on 04/26/2009, -0/+0i wrote my personal review about firefox and gave it the number 1 place out of the top 5 browsers of 2009 just because of its security..http://www.vnoma.com/2009/03/top-five-browsers-of- ... and not just this.. Firefox always prevents me from making so many spelling mistakes ..
You can also increase your firefox speed upto 3 times with some of my own tested techniques..http://www.vnoma.com/2009/03/tweak-for-firefox-3x- ... - korvins, on 04/23/2009, -2/+1Firefox is great because extensions. Think about something you do many times and you will an extension that will do it automatically.
Great extensions I cannot live without:
TreeTabs (you have too many tabs you lose control? try this)
Foxmarks (finally bookmarks make sense)
Plus many others *very* specific for my work. That is the key, no matter how specific they are, you will find something that will help. You just have to find them. - mendeznoel20, on 04/23/2009, -3/+1when my firefox "updated" today...i couldnt start it up, it kept giving me "program not found" errors...so i had to reinstall firefox....lame
- room23, on 04/22/2009, -14/+11<insert comment about software not needing security patches because its perfect>
- mendeznoel20, on 04/23/2009, -4/+1prepare to get dugg for comment.
- Avare, on 04/23/2009, -5/+1Firefox is awesome! I'll never change it for any other browser!
- xeveryday, on 04/23/2009, -6/+0just download mozilla flock.
it's actually a lot better. I'm using both, firefox and flock, and so far, flock definitely wins the battle.
it's faster.
more feature packed.
you get email updates, rss feeds, social networks of all kinds, youtube, etc. updates all right there in your browser.
definitely worth it. - marketinglpia, on 04/23/2009, -6/+0hello,i'm coming
- dvsbastard, on 04/23/2009, -11/+4Firefox is the perfect working example of security through obscurity... as it's marketshare / usage increased, so did reports of its vulnerabilities...
Regardless, it's still the best browser out there! - CSbaby, on 04/23/2009, -8/+0Updating.. ctrl+alt+delete end process.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -10/+0I have been having some problems with the firefox, keeps getting crashed, so thanks for the update.
http://digg.com/educational/West_Coast_Vinyl_Hi_Te ... - inactive, on 04/22/2009, -34/+8I do not like Firefox.....
