- arunkv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You can find information about the Firefox builds here - http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=305281
- roostersheep, on 01/16/2009, -1/+3I have just downloaded it but there are hardly any differences, other than the name changed to 'Bon Echo' and different history control.
There are no differences in the UI and no RSS support. So if you are to download expecting these, you will be disappointed. I have just switched back to 1.5.
By the way, you don't have to reinstall 1.5, you just have to delete the 'Bon Echo' folder in program files and registry keys to get rid of it. There is still the old 'Mozilla Firefox' folder in program files with 1.5 in it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2As long as I can see, all the extensions are working fine.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yay, I wanna see the new design, and stuff :D
- vh1`, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2is there anywhere someone can get an explanation of all the different builds of firefox on the mozilla ftp? all I know is that I use latest-trunk, I have no clue what trunk-fs, aviary, mozilla1.8/1.8.0/1.8-15, atlanta, promethesus, etc actually are.
- vh1`, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2awesome, thanks for that link!
- mvprj84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can go here to look at the changes:
http://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox2/StatusMeetings/2006-03-14
Just look for the sections that say "landed, ready to go" - truebullfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i havent installed it but i like the idea of having a close button on each indivdual tab seems easier to close tabs rather than traveling all the way to the right to close a tab
- mvprj84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You can see some of the things they have been working on by checking the meeting notes:
http://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox2/StatusMeetings
The Help and Release Notes pages probably won't be available for awhile because their primary focus is on making working builds. - mvprj84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed, I haven't found any flaws in it so far. It is running smooth and I am going to try to alter some of my old extensions to work with this build.
*Crossing my fingers* - mvprj84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Unfortunately I don't know if this article will ever make it to the Front Page of Digg because Digg told me that it was removed due to the fact that people reported it as a duplicate story. The only story that I have seen like this is this one:
http://www.digg.com/software/Download_Firefox_2.0_Alpha_1_Now_--_Bon_Echo
which was also posted by me after this article was removed. I was really hoping to get the word out about this because I know people would like it. I emailed them back kindly asking if they could 'reinstate' it but I don't know how it will go. It is kind of disappointing especially with all the Diggs it has received. - KillerJ59J, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thanks.
- mvprj84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think those are just different code names for the different Tinderbox builds
- nawin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Its waste of installing.. I installed it. Didnt find anything great.. Tried to uninstall it.. But ended up with error in uninstallation.. Ppl dont install it..
- metalrock76, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The only thing I see different on this new version are close buttons on the tabs. When you click Help and Release Notes you just get a 404 error.
- ScoTTeh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1One thing thats changed (and i hate) is they've moved the close tab button to within the tabs rather than always on the right.
- drizek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I dont see anything different really. No changelog at all?
- jayvan913, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I agree, when internet explorer 7 came out I gave it a try and one of the many thing that I didn't like about it was that the close tab button was on each of the tabs. I like how in firefox the close tab button is on the right.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0There is no difference.

What is Digg?
