- 988066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I really like Firefox, and it's obvious by now that it's spreading like wildfire. My concern is, how long till adware/spyware makers seriously begin looking for holes to exploit?
- entr0py, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah... the best part is how we are all going to just move on to the next 'underground browser' and then advertise it to all our friends and insist everyone use it until a big market share is using it and then they start targeting our chosen browser so some of us have to start using the next 'underground browser' and then advertise it to all our friends...
- Unkel_Slam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I download and install it on every computer I work on. Then replace its icon with the evil blue "e" so that it looks like they are starting IE. Most don't even realize it. So about 20 million of those are mine. Big whoop, now you're only at 30 million.
- Creed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Congratz Firefox!!!
- PhaseDMA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0And then you have the people that use IE because it works the way the web designer intended it to work. And half of these people making IE only sites are not exactly little kids, but rather big companies that would rather have things work exactly the way they want (if it breaks the stupid W3C rules or not) then have it do wacky things.
The fact is no browser has ever done everything right - I highly doubt any ever will. Programs are bound to break - Especially when they have not been updated in ages. And don't complain it has not been upgraded because none of you would use IE even if it was better with out doubt, and... Well it's not costing you anything to use so you have no room to talk.
I'm using Firefox, but all this IE bashing is just way too simple... And not because of the product, but rather because people that could defend the browser in a way it deserves simply don't waste their times on these type of sites (sorry Kevin). - cheeseonstuf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0About Time. LOL...now if the rest of the world can follow suit...k thx
- cIprO, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Firefox Downloads aprox. 50 million
Opera downloads aprox 1.? million
o.O .. opera who? - PhaseDMA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0IE Downloads aprox. 50 billion
- n-g-k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why doesn't Microsoft just give up?! I mean, honestly, what are they trying to prove? They already have spend $millions on IE, for what? IE has been a huge failure, everybody knows it's a huge piece of crap and 50 million have already moved to Firefox. Also, why do people still spend $600 for MS Office when www.OpenOffice.org is free? And more importantly, how arrogant is Microsoft for thinking they can charge $600 for Office when there is a FREE alternative? That goes for alot of other software companies too. I guess they are just trying to make as much money as they can, while they can because eventually consumers are going to wise up and realize they can get better software for free.
- 988066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ n-g-k:
A lot of people use IE because they don't know any better. And when IE 7 finally comes out, they'll simply just upgrade because the auto-update will tell them to.
As for MS Office, I have no idea. I use OpenOffice. - tysonhy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This comment was made by using Firefox :)
- Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahaha....does not matter how many IE downloads there were....IE's market share is dropping all thanks to firefox! Keep on going firefox!
- Elxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0People who actually downloaded IE because they wanted it: 8
