- xM55, on 10/02/2009, -9/+202CS2 icon was the best.
- anexanhume, on 06/25/2009, -6/+174'Shopped.
- Paulish, on 06/25/2009, -0/+153"Scanning for plug-ins... Lens Flare..."
Oh god, the lens flare. - dagamer34, on 06/25/2009, -0/+82Someone must have pirated a LOT of copies of Photoshop to make this story!
- wilhoitm, on 06/25/2009, -0/+78The average user, uses less than %1 of Photoshops features, and there is nothing wrong with that.
- boozedrinker, on 06/25/2009, -3/+757, in my opinion was the first AWESOME release...........
- captainchris, on 06/25/2009, -1/+68yeah, here's the evolution over the past decades:
512k --> 512mb - ophello, on 06/25/2009, -1/+68Your comma, does not belong there.
- vineyardvine, on 06/25/2009, -1/+63Cool. Although I wish they had images from the same OS for all of the workspaces.
- tacojohn, on 06/25/2009, -2/+56wow– XP's default UI sticks out like a throbbing blue thumb of death.
- stagnate, on 06/25/2009, -1/+54I found a great site the other day, http://www.google.com
- bkraj, on 06/25/2009, -0/+49Mirror:
http://rorr.im/digg.com/software/evolution_of_phot ... - LordVance, on 06/26/2009, -1/+43My penis was originally designed to be used in conjunction with a vagina, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate a fine blowjob from time to time.
- andymci, on 06/25/2009, -3/+44Damn. PS5 was my first introduction into the world of "modern" computer graphics, back when I was in the 6th grade. I'm now 21, but I can still distinctly remember sitting in front of the old IBM's in the library, creating my school's website in a combination of Frontpage and Photoshop 5.0... yikes.
- RandomEarthling, on 06/25/2009, -0/+31I've used Photoshop since 4.0 and my favorite feature that they have ever added was multiple undo's. I can't tell how many times I had to remake an image because I clicked the brush or stamp tool one too many times.
- atm259, on 06/25/2009, -0/+31I see the 7.0 everyday.
***** my company. - lacreme, on 06/25/2009, -4/+34an interface that doesn't suck balls, for starters
- dhess, on 06/25/2009, -0/+29I was always a big fan of PS 7's icon. Just when the eye was starting to look good, they got rid of it.
- PixelMagic, on 06/25/2009, -0/+24His brother is John Knoll, who is a visual effects supervisor at Industrial Light and Magic.
***THE MORE YOU KNOW*** - pfhayter, on 06/25/2009, -0/+23They didn't include the Easter egg splashes :(
I'll never forget that time I accidentally pressed the right key combination... I had no ***** idea what had happened.

What the hell is that cat :?) - u16085, on 06/25/2009, -0/+23Interesting How it started With Thomas Knoll - Then the list of names starts scrolling
- Sepeteus, on 06/26/2009, -0/+21That's not, a comma. It's, a shatner.
- inactive, on 06/26/2009, -0/+20Photoshop 2.0 baby - no layers, one undo and no looking back
- phpchris, on 06/25/2009, -0/+18What's also interesting is his name is on the Splash/About Screen on every version except the latest version CS4
- Apocryphax64, on 06/26/2009, -0/+18Zune theme, orange on black looks very slick.
- J0415, on 06/26/2009, -1/+19... the less likely you'll find a gf.
- Reziarfg, on 06/26/2009, -0/+16I almost want to keep ophello from being buried to hell just so more people can see your comment LordVance.
- alpha88, on 06/25/2009, -1/+17CS2 will always have the best icon in my mind.
- TheSnuffster, on 06/26/2009, -0/+16Royale Noir anyone?
I think that's what it was called. Like the Zune theme but without orange. - Shinobi326, on 06/25/2009, -0/+15Not only is it one of the most iconic pieces of software, its definitely the most pirated one!
- ChromaVita, on 06/26/2009, -0/+15But CS had the best splash screen.
- mason092, on 06/25/2009, -0/+15I used the silver theme or an unofficial theme most of the time when I had XP.
- DopplerDuck, on 06/25/2009, -5/+19This is pure disinformation! Don't get fooled! This is no evolution. All "versions" are actually different software created by a single company at the same time. They were just discovered by us at different times.
:-P - TheMu, on 06/25/2009, -0/+13Poor Thomas Knoll.
- inactive, on 06/25/2009, -1/+14If you like i'll content re-size a photo of you and your bosses on my CS4 :)
- Auraness, on 06/25/2009, -2/+14Ah the good old days of the cloud renderings.
- leprix, on 06/25/2009, -3/+15He switched to Mac in 2007.
- inactive, on 06/25/2009, -0/+12Not as awesome as craquleure, the official filter of the FBI anti-piracy division!
- Issius, on 06/26/2009, -1/+13But the poor z button. No one ever thinks about him. Sure, the ctrl button gets pounded daily, but he's used to it. The z button never saw it coming :(
- inactive, on 06/26/2009, -0/+11With you there. There's just something about that blue feather.
- shrapnel09, on 06/25/2009, -0/+11All that and it still can't be deployed through Group Policy...
- cugar, on 06/25/2009, -0/+10oh how old we are getting together friend
- Krakerjax, on 06/25/2009, -0/+10I hate to say it, but the only thing that I saw in this entire post was that over the passed 20-30 years, anything dealing with copyright has clearly become convoluted and ***** to all hell. I mean damn, it started off as 1 sentence, and worked its way up movie credits :(
Oh yeah, it was cool to see technology evolve in the pictures - andersonenvy, on 06/26/2009, -0/+9Feathers.
- digitaldivinci, on 06/25/2009, -3/+12...enhance...
- Gumby_Mac, on 06/26/2009, -0/+9I was expecting to see those too! The Electric Cat, Red Pill, etc. Those are actually the code names for the various versions of Photoshop while they were in development.
To get them on PC, hold down the CTRL key and go to the Help menu and select "About Photoshop".
On the Mac, I think you hold down the OPTION key.
**BONUS** - Merlin Lives! [Begone] - LordVance, on 06/26/2009, -0/+9Which makes it a non-issue these days solid... His point was that there was a time where only a single undo was available, no matter how much system ram you had. The day that changed, keyboards around the world rejoiced able to now live long, happy lives without fear of being flung across the room in a heated rage.
- mason092, on 06/25/2009, -1/+10Wait! You're trying to tell me that Photoshop is supposed to cost money?
- Blindogg, on 06/26/2009, -0/+8Only 39 minutes to go with that 5 degree rotate and....CRASH!!!
- CaptObvious, on 06/25/2009, -0/+8This is a good start:
