- kepsux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Free as in speech, or free as in spyware?
- copernic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That is the 2004 list. The 2006 list is here: http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2006/about2006PL.php
- LewsTherin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No GIMP? No Inkscape? Firefox at version 0.9?
More like a list of things not to download. - yeehawjared, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1not that great
Doesn't have GAIM, cd burner XP, etc... no opensource. crappy list imo - piesforyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1...did we? ;)
- michaelstone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be great if you always mentioned, "Every free WINDOWS program you ever wanted. Those of us with OS X, Mac Classic, or GNU/Linux actually do exist.
- slorocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is worthy of a link on my desktop too this site, seems to be a very deep index of software
- Proginoskes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Gee, I dunno. When I see a link with the caption "!! Direct Download !!" I start to get wary.
Don't marketing goons overuse bangs too? Marketing goons usually piss me off when they give away "free" stuff. - einfeldt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Some of the programs offered there were rather dated. For example, the most recent version of OpenOffice.org was listed as 1.1.2, but the current stable version is 2.0.1. So this list might be a good place to look, but for Linux users, there is a more comprehensive list here. This list focuses on Linux equivalents of Windows programs.

- menace303, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Have you ever wanted a free program for something?"
strange wording, no? - spudwrench, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Old and dupe.

http://digg.com/software/Pricelessware_2006_list_announced - evizaer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Most of those programs have dates greater than 2 years old next to them... I usually prefer to use open source or free projects that are still being worked on.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Both the ridiculously massive list and the poor layout made me not even want to take a second look.
- angedinoir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Um, yea, that site kinda sucks, actually.
- Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is getting old...all I see now are diggs about free apps.
- joeyjojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0good data but poorly formatted/presented
- g30ph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I still get all my free software from usenet, thanks. nzbzone.com
- handeyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://techtakeover.com/all.htm
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Don'T feel like browsing this list, it's way too big :)
- Gnascher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Google has all the free software I ever wanted for "something".
Whenever I need a program to do "something", I start googling it. Usually I read about the other people who have been trying to do the same "something" before me, and find out what they used. Then I download that.
Don't need some centralized site that's impossible to search for finding free "things" to do "something".
Perhaps I'll look here if I ever need an old version of some proggy I can't find from a better source ... probably not though.

Regscrub XP - LaPistola, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cool! looks like I just got a new bookmark :)
- sens, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This would be really useful if the page actually told me WTF these programs do.
I don't especially enjoy playing russian roulette with my computer, nor do I plan to click over to a different site for each program just to find out what they do.
Useless. - jmonw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no search? no digg.
- Daddio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How do you spell 'Yawn'.
- piesforyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What's with organising the sections by phrase length? That's just silly.

No Digg. - Guy0510, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If they start charging for the software, do you think they could develop a better site?
- jmonw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0-----"I'm sorry I didnt think of 2% of the market"-----
Hmmm. Someone hasn't been doing his homework... ;) - nouse66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"So where is the Gimp?"
the gimp's sleeping - citizensagainst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hasn't been updated in nearly three years, people. No digg.
- Whatsinaname, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0edit: 10% thats it you wont get any more market (today) I love linux, but it itself is a FREE program, while we windows users already payed 200 dollars for just the OS
- mxmage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So where is the Gimp?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0dupe
- saxmanlarry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I agree, don't we have plenty of these kind of libraries? And it just looks like too much to look through right now.
