http://www.u.arizona.edu.nyud.net/~garyc/comments/comments7.exe - misterpony, on 11/06/2007, -0/+25Awesome. Great interface. And the Friends directory is great. This is hands down better than all the submissions to the Digg contest. And it's the first time I've seen how many THUMBS DOWN votes a comment got. Does this mean there is a way to also show how many BURIES a story gets? Great job.
- apex32, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25It has come to my attention that Coral Cache isnt all that reliable, so here is another mirror: http://garycarstensen.googlepages.com/comments7.html
- ChronicColonic, on 11/06/2007, -0/+17This should have made front page. Awesome Work!!
- jeolmeun, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17This should've won the Flash Digg API contest. http://digg.com/contest
- jeolmeun, on 10/18/2007, -1/+16When will digg popularize this?!
- synclare, on 11/26/2008, -0/+13I liked diggcity and all - but this API beats them all hands down.
And there's a desktop version? Insane.
A thought for version 2:
maybe include some color coding for posts that are particularly active? Like green getting dugg up, red getting buried, etc. - jeolmeun, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Why isn't this popular yet?
- apex32, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Thanks for the praise you guys. I just wish I came up with this idea BEFORE the contest deadline. :( Oh well.
@misterpony The Digg API does not allow you to see buries for a story, but for some reason it lets you see thumbs down for comments. - atdigg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13The only thing that doesn't work right, but it's not the fault of the program, is that "no of replies" is not reliable, but this is digg's fault for having a braindead reply system where you don't know who replies to whom.
- bootle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Seeing the thumbs downs is really the way to go. digg should make the default comment header say "15 diggs (+20 - 5)" that's all you'd need
- pault107, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10That surprises me, I was expecting to you say you're getting hits in the thousands. This tool needs more publicity.
- tomboy501, on 11/06/2007, -0/+9I agree, this is really fantastic. I saw this post yesterday (in my friend's comment queue - thanks, timewarrior), but was busy at work and couldn't play with it. Came back today and opened it up..wow....surprised this didn't get more diggs. I really like the friend's directory, too. Beefing up community features is really what this site needs most.
Good point on the thumbs down. Haven't seen that before either. It's probably just a matter of time before we see a third party app that gives us bury info. - apex32, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8It's getting about 100 hits per day right now.
- atdigg, on 10/18/2007, -0/+8Coolness, it works under wine too.
- Uthman, on 02/04/2009, -0/+5this is freakin sick!!
- poetx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5this is fantastic. good work.
- Th3_anOmoLy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5great interface, works in wine, I've been waiting for something like this. Great work
- chrisc262, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5great job
this is way easier than looking up all the stuff you commented on one at a time - pault107, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Great work - I've been using this tool to monitor my comments for a few days now and it's fantastic. I used to save my Digg comment URLs and go back and check them occasionally. No need for that any more due to this awesome tool.
I'm sure it would have won the Digg API contest if it was entered. The winning entry doesn't do anything for me.
I'm interested - how many hits are you getting on your server?
(I'm off now to http://garycarstensen.googlepages.com/comments7.html to check for diggs/buries on this comment ;-)) - hackershandbook, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Nice tool - good work
- apex32, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3That's interesting. Thanks for exploring this.
The Flash client queries services.digg.com directly each time you tell it to update, so the caching is done on digg's end. Changing the count results in a different request URL sent to digg.com, which I guess causes them to serve fresh data. - overaction, 14 hr 26 min ago, -0/+3Link is down. Why Corel Cache an .edu link? I'm sure they have plenty of bandwidth. Unless you don't want your university hosting to be noticed (I do the same).

http://www.u.arizona.edu/~garyc/comments/comments7.exe - Sil369, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3The Replies column is broken... it doesn't show reply #s anymore.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4This is the balls
- PueSi, on 05/13/2008, -0/+3It really sucks you didn't get more publicity, this tool is perfect, i've been using it since forever.
- jeolmeun, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3It looks like my comment doesn't show until it's uneditable after 2 minutes unless I show 11 comments and update, but going back to 10 comments and update doesn't show the comment. Let's see if it happens again.
- Sasha56, on 02/05/2009, -0/+2While I have everyone here, is there an easy way to know which of your friends accept shouts?
thanks - chrisc262, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2i like that idea
- jeolmeun, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Changing the amount comments and updating displays new comments. It looks like the Flash app stores the comments depending on the number of comments you want to display. Try posting a comment, then update, then set it to 4 comments and update, then 8 comments and update, etc. The comment age doesn't seem to change. One would show 15 seconds, another 16 seconds, another 23, and 42. Update Now doesn't really update? Refreshing the page doesn't seem to help either.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Still the best comment tracker. You should do a simple updated version just so you can resubmit it to digg. This needs to be seen.
- Archon810, on 01/15/2008, -1/+3it's just a swf embedded in an exe, of course it works in wine.
- peterjmag, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2This is an awesome tool. Thanks!
- 140Suffolk, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2Anybody know why I never have anything listed in the Reply column?
- 140Suffolk, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2Oh. I thought that was just me.
- jeolmeun, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Maybe you can get some ideas from this web based comment application like "go to parent" or "Possible reply".
http://digg.com/mods/Get_your_Digg_Comments_and_Replies_as_a_feed and get some ideas off of his
http://bleu.west.spy.net/diggwatch/ - jeolmeun, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Actually, a new window just updated the Age.
- jeolmeun, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Opening a new browser window or tab seems to update the data.
- slayerab, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1I'm seriously addicted to this web app
- inactive, on 01/01/2008, -1/+2This is a fantastic tool. Thank you.
- inactive, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Is there going to be a newer version that does more?
- crxvfr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1YEAY! Added it to my delicious bookmarks (11 others when I did it) ..tankyou

- CrystalP, on 03/26/2009, -1/+0This is hands down better than all the submissions to the Digg contest.
