- bryanw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1it's actually very good software, and not just by microsoft standards. i downloaded kazaa through IE and used IE for browsing a while to stock up on some spyware to test with. it picked up 106 registry entries and 2 threats (KaZaA and some "search aid" in IE) as well as a trojan in svchost.exe (W32/Jeefo). SpyBot didn't catch nearly as much. i'm really impressed!
- c0dek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hmm. Maybe I have a different beta - MSAS ID'd my K++ as an adware enabler, stating that the program may not contain adware but can be a platform that allows it into my system. It's default setting for the program was "Ignore." Now, obviously, K++ has no ad/spyware, I assume MSAS keyed on the executable and listed it, but did not take any action on it.
I like the app. For those who still use IE, it also claims to erase 17 different ways of tracking your web browsing (history, cache, and deeper) Not sure if it will do the same if you have Firefox set as default browser.
Not a drag on my resources either, not even in the top 10.
It won't catch anything, but it did find 9 threats on my machine tha Spybot said was clean. As always, the best plan is a combination of several programs, it seems. - peterberry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I just ran a comparison with spybot sd. The microsoft program found spyware that spybot has never found but it missed ten others that spybot was able to find. Hopefully when i get to final release it will be able to find the rest.
- cd_RW, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1reason why i ask is because it seems to be one of the best spware/adware removal tools ive used in a long time. it has picked up threats that spyboy s$d, adaware failed to pick up. including programs (i.e. kazaa lite, which i kept despite and warezp2p, which i deleted because i didnt realize it was still on my system). ive heard that it hogs resources, but i dont notice any major memory leaks going on here.
- SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1it is a major resource hog, and while it did find a few old registry entries that spybot and adaware missed, it didnt find anything real. also it said kazaa lite k++ had adware even though it doesnt (i rarely use it but keep it for backup when real file sharing fails). it offered to remove the adware and did this by deleting the entire program. its like IE, technically it gets the job done but there are better free alternatives out there.
- Gabe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i like it but it doesn't eliminate Tracking Cookies, which I found odd.

- cd_RW, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1well i mean if this thing gets a price tag added to it later on, ill rely on others for sure. but for now, it's not an entirely bad program. especially for being MS software.
- c0nrad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Same thing happened to me c0dek.
It said ia had Kazaa, but im using klite k++ which is adware/spyware free.
I like the feature that allows you to ignore it forever. - cybrenergy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I posted a review/installation log here if anybody is interested. Just my experiences and opinions about the product and install process.
- wyrmwood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Got rid of some hijackers i wasn't aware of (spybot didn't get em) - including traces of 180 search assistant that I thought I had killed. On a comical note, after restarting my system and rerunning the app I got a "critical error 101"...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0SpyNet is a very useful feature to ensure multitudes of protection...but i recommend installing it...running it and the uninstalling it since the prog. uses so many resources

- cybrenergy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Has anybody mentioned the "Genuine Windows Download" checking? "Before obtaining the requested download, please take a moment to validate your genuine Microsoft Windows installation. Validation assures that you are running an authentic and fully-licensed copy of Windows."
That's very shady if you ask me. What are their real goals here? Sounds like they're trying to snuff out people running hacked or pirated versions of Windows. - SuperMoonMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I kinda like my resources, though. I don't know if I want them stolen by a spyware program.
- cd_RW, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0has anyone found any flaws or encountered any problems with this program?
- DanTheManPR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'd like it to be compared to some other commercial software. It doesn't surprise me that it seems better than adaware and spybot, but thats because those are free programs. M$ plans to market this - I'm not paying for it unless it's better than similarly priced stuff.
(I'll keep using it for now, because I'm a cheap bastard) - cd_RW, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0darth, he used it for test purposes.
- bloodrain, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0yeah man i want to know. it windows lmao
- DarthGordolf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0bryanw, y r u still using IE? i would also like to know if there are any flaws in M$'s new software
- Rotkiv, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0just when i was looking for it, it's at the newest article on digg. heck yeah.
