...for now - honeybrass, on 11/23/2008, -10/+407Nothing can make me abandon firefox, we have fused. There are just so many extensions I could not live without.
- HCviolence, on 11/22/2008, -9/+287That's like leaving Elizabeth Hurley to go screw a stinking ugly prostitute.
- uninspireded, on 11/23/2008, -4/+247The article was hilarious, but gmail? Train-wreck? I don't think so!
- MAGZine, on 11/22/2008, -8/+179Firefox and Chrome will be best friends, no matter what Netscape (or Dan Tynan, for that matter) says.
- diggit08, on 11/23/2008, -7/+178Im glad to say I did not give into the temptation. All my friends were doing it, but I stayed faithful.
- GregoryHarbin, on 11/23/2008, -2/+148"I tried to tell myself that Chrome's just a beta, she'll grow out of it, give her time. Then I looked at her older sisters, Gmail and Froogle. And her brother Lively, may he rest in peace. Train wrecks, the lot of them. I guess that's just how it is when rich parents spoil their kids. "
Gmail? What's he talking about? I've been a Gmail user for over four years now, have never had a single problem. I astound people all the time with the old e-mails I'm able to dig up. How is it a train wreck?
And Froogle works well too, it's just not a product I need when Amazon Prime is always the cheapest way to get something.

//can't wait for a Universal port - inactive, on 11/23/2008, -5/+150Firefox is safer. Chrome is faster.
- Arkanjal, on 11/23/2008, -0/+130you may be shocked to find out that viewing webpages is likely the number one use of browsers.
- DavidGX, on 11/23/2008, -4/+120I love firefox to death but this guy thinks gmail is a disaster therefor he has no right to talk about ANYTHING internet-related, ever.
- PixelEater, on 11/23/2008, -7/+115Pool's closed due to ads.
- abbathdoom, on 11/23/2008, -6/+94Can someone please explain to me the point of switching to Chrome when Firefox 3.1 promises to have porn mode and an insanely fast rendering engine? What little advantage Chrome had over FF is gone. Why give up all those lovely add ons?
- theradical, on 11/23/2008, -0/+82No, it's like leaving Elizabeth Hurley to go browse the internet with IE 7
- g3rd, on 11/22/2008, -13/+86How can some one love a slow, non-standard browser?
- RabidOrange, on 11/23/2008, -13/+83Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you - Neiby, on 11/23/2008, -3/+73Agreed. I used Chrome for maybe two days. It has a couple of cool features but it's not a full browser yet. It's missing far too many features. And let's face it, until it gets the equivalent of Adblock Plus, I'm not going to use it. I refuse to browse without Adblock.
And when FF 3.1 comes out, it will be just as fast (or faster) than Chrome, so there just won't be a reason to switch to it. At the rate Google is developing it, it won't be a fully featured browser for a long time. - WantToPlay, on 11/22/2008, -22/+90That was very funny...
- HumanityLost, on 11/23/2008, -5/+69Whale poop > Internet Explorer.
- searcade, on 11/23/2008, -7/+67It's not me, it's you
- uptown, on 11/23/2008, -1/+60Since the company that made it's entire revenue stream is based around people clicking those ads, my guess is Adblock Plus is a long way from being installable on Chrome.
- sdigroup, on 11/23/2008, -8/+66you sir, bring shame to us all
- crushfan, on 11/23/2008, -1/+59Stop saying 'fail' or I'll have to install Adobe Reader on your ass.
- WileyK, on 11/23/2008, -1/+55We prefer the term "you're"
Also you're a dick.

Will never betray you my beloved fox - seeingright, on 11/23/2008, -29/+80I have tried them all.. Firefox and Chrome.. Firefox got slower than heck with all the upgrades, just started to really suck. and I thought Chrome would be the answer, but NO.. tell you what, Opera is the coolest, smoothest, fastest loading browser I have ever used.. Opera is simply state of the art.. don't believe me just try it.. you will see.. beautiful interface that is different and can be modified anyway you like.. address on bottom, address on top, side, no problem.. tons of tools and icons.. but the best part is the browser is SUPER FAST starting on windows and loading web pages.. great cache and uses little memory.. I just love OPERA.
- Groovel76, on 11/23/2008, -5/+50Gmail? Train Wreck? WTF?
- str1fe, on 11/23/2008, -1/+44I just got text rolled :(
- satyarth, on 11/23/2008, -1/+43Me too, I love Gmail, but I think he's referencing the fact that they all are in beta.
- ivankraszl, on 11/23/2008, -11/+48When is Chrome coming to OS X?
- nevski264a, on 11/23/2008, -33/+67I think Chome is awesome at the moment and I haven't had any problems with crashing!
- uremomsnitemare, on 11/23/2008, -2/+33Thank you, i was looking for a comment like this before i posted!

- bdfariello, on 11/23/2008, -2/+32My Firefox is perfectly okay with me using IE for a few specific websites (e.g. http://*update.microsoft.com/*). It' so cool with it, in fact, that it let me install IETab. It's kinda like a three-way.
- johnfn, on 11/23/2008, -9/+35How is he a troll? Guys, it's just a web browser. Bury me, but it's still just a web browser. Sure, it's not the best one. But stating that you prefer one web browser to another is not tantamount to saying you like killing babies. It's hardly trolling. It's just stating an opinion.
- 380nm, on 11/23/2008, -6/+31I still like my opera :)
- bjornski, on 11/23/2008, -4/+29Probably about the same time Crysis does.
- inactive, on 11/23/2008, -25/+49Firefox≥ Google Chrome> Opera> Internet Explorer
- javaroast, on 11/23/2008, -4/+28Do you realize how badly those site abused ads over the years. And how those abuses led to Ad Block. They did it to themselves with drive by installs, obnoxious flash ads, ads with noise, and on and on and on. They had their chance... they lost it... now its Ad Block all the time for me.
- Shaneonfire, on 11/23/2008, -2/+26If it wasn't for Gmail, Hotmail would still have a 2mb storage limit for your inbox.
- inactive, on 11/23/2008, -4/+25I see it like this...
Firefox - Extensions, add-ons, etc.
Chrome - Pure unadulterated speed.
Maybe that is just me, but thats how I use the two browsers. I can open up Chrome and already be at my favorite website before Firefox even pops up, and thats only with a theme and adblock installed on Firefox. - MikeSetera, on 11/23/2008, -8/+28Don't feed the troll.
- sibeth, on 11/23/2008, -8/+28firefox is so much more than faster... its untouchable when it comes to extensions.. i can roast coffee, bake bread and still manage my bookmarks :P
chrome is blazing fast.. but that basically sums it up.. (im using chrome now, nothing is better at viewing webpages and writing on blogs..etc.. ) - yetAnotherCroc, on 11/23/2008, -0/+19We're nerds. We like to play with new shiny stuff.
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 11/23/2008, -1/+20You know what I just realized? Chrome doesn't install itself to the Program Files directory like nearly every other piece of software on Windows...
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application
Wtf, Google? Yeah, just go ahead and completely ignore the conventions for the system. Thanks... - gavintlgold, on 11/23/2008, -3/+22Do you really think a company that makes money almost solely from ads is going to allow/support an adblocker for its own app? The only way it could possibly happen is if they build a plugin system...
- falser, on 11/23/2008, -5/+24Chrome will not be getting AdBlock, or any ad removal features. Google makes all it's money from ads.
- bagelmaster, on 11/23/2008, -12/+30Well when 3.1 actually comes out your argument will be relevant. Until then, Chrome is still faster.
- burnin8r28, on 11/23/2008, -1/+19TimeIsTissue is wrong.
- sdigroup, on 11/23/2008, -2/+20you always go back to your first love..........
- benologist, on 11/23/2008, -0/+17They're not going to be best friends, they probably won't even be friends at all long-term. If Chrome gets extensions happening in a way that doesn't compromise it's huge speed advantage then Firefox is going to bleed marketshare.
