I address your point about Creative Commons being an extension of copyright in the first paragraph of my article. Yes, it is technically a copyright extension - but to the general public, Creative Commons' intention is a virtual 180' difference from traditional copyright law. - cday, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Creative Commons is a fantastic way for media creators to share and spread their media."

I agree with that sentence whole-heartedly. However, I cannot give diggs to titles that use the word "sucks", unless the article is about Hoovers. It's just tacky.
Copyrights don't "suck". The endlessly extended limits to Copyright is the biggest problem. The Creative Commons respects Copyright and uses it as a foundation, the two work together. CC just adds an extra layer of privileges, so that other people know exactly how they can use copyrighted materials without having to wait while tracking down the owner to ask permission.
