- Silverspeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Quite good actually. My guess is by using a PHP PDF class. Ill be using this often.
- AlmostEvil, on 10/30/2007, -0/+12Or, y'know.. install PDF Creator ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/ ) and use that instead for much quicker results and actual quality settings you can configure with no size limits. (It acts as a printer to create anything you print to it as a PDF)
- IamNINJA, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I saw PDF Creator but theres no MAC version sadly.
- AlmostEvil, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Hold on, I thought OS X had the inbuilt ability to create PDFs?
I'll check when I go into work tomorrow, but I could swear it had that capability out of the box. - AlmostEvil, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Yep, http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/pdf/ .
- IamNINJA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1so it is true, you Do learn something new every day. thanks. I'd been racking my head trying to figure out a way to get my resume (in Excel, dont ask why) into a pdf and the hwole time I had the tools but was unaware. thanks
- AlmostEvil, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1No problem, i'm just surprised you didn't know..
I only use macs occasionally and I knew! (digging the knife in.. ;) )
Suppose because I work at a print company i'm likely to know something like that.
I dunno if you can play with the quality settings of the PDF to create under OS X though, like I said... I only use them occasionally. - azharc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3PDF 995 is also good.I use OpenOffice so it doesnt matter.
- ubuntuist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Openoffice. Done.
- pcgeek101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1PrimoPDF works pretty well
- dlichteman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Openoffice can output to PDF also....comes in handy
- danglerman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Open Office...why anything else?
- jodamiller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1ImANinja: Mac OS X can print any file to a PDF. Just go to the print screen then there should be an option to save as PDF.
- deb6404, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What's great is, on a Mac you can print natively from ANY app to PDF...oh dear.

- L0t3k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yes, I've often used OpenOffice to make word docs and pdfs... so when i mail assignments and such, nobody can claim they couldn't read them. ;)
- jtdgrz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Bah, people continue to use PDF instead of coming up with something less bulky. I hate PDF, no digg.
- chaos86, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1umm, print> Print to PDF.
oh wait, im singing the praises of OSX again. my bad - kramer3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Bah, people continue to use PDF instead of coming up with something less bulky. I hate PDF, no digg."
good opinion. now try n convice your boss and the rest of the world that.. - bcheck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is my favorite online pdf converter, and it's even working right now:
http://convert.neevia.com/ - cliffzdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1.pdf isn't bulky, its the reader(s) that are usually bulky.
I use the full on Acrobat Pro @ work on my XP box, very nice and functional. BUT the reader is a pain, even though it pre-loads into memory. So, I use Foxit Reader. It's speedy like quick on XP.
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/
Of course the reader is free... - enzomedici, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1
Print, PDF, Save as .pdf done on OS X. - iOXeR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0BETTER SOLUTION. You can convert anything with pdf995. The free version contains ads, but they aren't horrible.
- hellsyeah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1PDF creator does the same thing for windows as in OSX/Linux for with pdf files.
- gamerzworld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3*cough*Openoffice*cough*

> will be available soon... (After we know about everyone that used the service and keep the docs on our own3d server.) - jasonhe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'd rather use CutePDF Writer, it's free
- TargetDigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No worky no diggy.
- Dracos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No privacy policy, and I get prompted for an asp.NET session cookie. I'm not trusting my content with these people. I'll still use print to file (postscript virtual printer) and Ghostview.
No digg. - firephoto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just setup another printer with Windows and choose an Apple Postscript printer then print to file and open with your pdf reader.
- sensei_zebub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1been a big fan of PrimoPDF. adds PDF converter as a local printer. OpenOffice is good too
- starmanjones, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1>I saw PDF Creator but theres no MAC version sadly.
um... i hate to tell ya... naw. i don't. Macs do PDF natively. just save to PDF. print to PDF. in the Mac world we convert file types all the time. its one of the bizzare and annoying things about Windows users is that they are oblivious to it all. if it isn't a word.doc then they consider themselves screwed. :D - starmanjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0>Bah, people continue to use PDF instead of coming up with something less bulky. I hate PDF, no digg.
you don't understand PDF then. its bulky because it carries the information to reproduce exactly the same on any platform. so... it doesn't suck. - digitol, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0NO FUggin Way, Macs SUx.. They can't do PDF conversion with the "File" print to pdf button!!! There IS NO SUCH FRIGGIN THING!!! QUIT LYING you mac zealots... Quit lying about features that are not there...just to make the PC world feel bad... Cmon the gig is up. Quartz what the hell is Quartz.. Nope never heard of such a BIZZARE AND TOTALY UNJUST FEATURE!! Pffffff... Built in PDF creation.. Yeah My assssssss. Macs Sux!! Pffffft! Maybe expresspdf.com will have mac support in the next 20 yrs.. maybe should email and ask them why they don't support mac. :) hahhahaah.

File > Export as PDF - panique, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Command-P
Always works for free
Unless you use Windows
Then making a PDF just blows
On this I'm sure we all agree - regeya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Bah, people continue to use PDF instead of coming up with something less bulky. I hate PDF, no digg."
Come up with it, post it here, and I won't Digg it. Digg still needs a 'no digg' lameness/IP ban filter. - idiggit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Isn't there a pdf driver in cups?
- MrTea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what we REALLY need is a tool that will convert PDF into html or a word document

Digg++ - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://primopdf.com/

- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I use PDF995, although it pops up an ad for itself PDF995 every time you use it.
It's just a front for ghostscript anyway. - J_Omega, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1been said....for Windows = PDFcreator : http://sector7g.wurzel6.de/pdfcreator/index_en.htm
Goes beyond just officeesque stuff. Acts as a printer for any windows app.
But, how do I convert my LaTeX compile into PDF?!?! oh... nm - alloneword, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2cough cough Open Office cough cough,
