- rayman901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty cool...it annoyed me that i couldn't talk with multiple people. Now there's one less annoyance. Maybe Google will include conferencing calls eventually....
- ziffel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why not just use Skype? it's free, conferences up to 5 people without all this silly hoop-jumping.
- NyQuil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ziffel: Google Talk uses a lot less bandwidth at the same quality in my expirences just talking to just one person.. Also, I would like to see google include bigger conferences with lots of admin abilities for the conference.
- kewldude606, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it laggy? Also, why would user 3 need to connect to user 1? Is it to get rid of some lag issues or is it necessary? It seems like user 3s communication would go to user 2 then user 1..
- vadche, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no lag whatsoever. This is not connected through 1 user. Instead you are connected to every user in the conference call therefore eliminating the need for a server. (now that i think of it it kinda works bittorent.) 3 needs to connect to 1 in order to make a circle. Otherwise 3 and 1 will not be able to talk to each other.
- pinc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sort of a hassle, but i guess thats the only way until they add the feature.
add me to your friends list: temporarygate@gmail.com - cwilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use a bunch of different Google applications and I do use Google Talk, but I don't think I'm going to be using this for conference calling anytime soon. I love the simplicity of Google Talk, but Skype would still be my recommendation for conference voice chat. Even still, this is a cool digg! Thanks for sharing the information!
- dECODED, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sweet. :) Will deffinatly try this out.
- DiGiTaLFX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Seems a bit of a mish mash... Very clever, but I'd rather wait until its implemented I think.
- 404notfound, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Multiple instances to handle conference calls seems a bit too messy—almost as bad as my idea of using custom availability messages as a crude chat room.
In any case, kudos for being the first one to figure it out (or, at least, the first one to mention it). - wired4christ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cool
