- Letha1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2These people are low, my friends, very low. They steal maps that Mothergoat made painstakenly and poured their heart and blood into these maps. Just to get stolen by some jerk who hopes to con his way into wealth. Jonsmodding affects me personally in a bad way, because they represent every person that cheats their way to the top and ruins games for the people who just want to have fun. Rankings don't mean anything. they are merely a small bragging right, that isn't even that accurate. These guys brag an unbelieveable amount just so they can say they're 50 in everything. which doesn't even mean anything, considering that they cheated there way up there. Even if they were legitamate, I wouldn't care, I play for fun, not competition.
Sorry for the long post. - sorahn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://jonsmodding.com/forums/
- GMEnthusiast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Lets see... hotlinking images on someone else's site... Hello? This is the common sense department calling - why don't you change the images to goatse.cx?
- neurokaotix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The Eric Baum of the map community
- ThornHarvestar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Utterly pathetic. I am all for modding for casual play, but his site clearly has malicious modding intent for use in ranked games on Xbox Live.
"Take a look around, we have several services that NO other modding provider has to offer, such as banning prevention and unbanning; we can also ban or completely de-level that personal enemy that you just cant stand!"
You've got to be kidding me. I know they are probably full of BS and can do none of those things, but still. Who would trust these hackjobs? - sundancekid503, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm starting to think that Digg itself maybe facing 'vigilante justice' soon. You reap what you sew. I'd like the see this site stick to tech news and leave the mob mentality to someone else. It's ruining this site. The Digg community seem to be sheep who don't need proof of anything before they launch an attack (again THIS particular case seems justified, but I think it has no place on THIS site).
PriceRitePhoto sent this site spinning in the wrong direction. - deadite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well I think posting this guy's personal info and encouraging people to harrass him is much more scummy than what he did. There are legal channels that were created for dealing with stuff like this... just because you can anonymously take matters into your own hands doesn't mean you should.
Really it just makes you look immature and shallow. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's funny, sites like digg.com are really a great thing. They help expose corruption and fraud and stuff like that. I could write more, but I that basically sums up what I wanted to say.
- D-Man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"BTW, I checked out the Jon's Modding website. He doesn't sell the map pack, he offers to install it for $25. Still a ripoff, still not ethical, but he is not stealing and claiming he made them."
Read the next paragraph...
"entire maps pack is 20 dollars, 3 new maps total" - he offers a $25 fee to install them, ON TOP OF the $20 to buy them. - bluffcityjk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You know, I usually take great exception to the vigilantism around here. But in this case . . .
Go nuts, kids. - DerTeufel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1People! Stop posting the guy's personal info!
- ThornHarvestar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i really doubt he has a "team" at all.
just be smart guys, with whatever you decide to do about this. :)
Oh, and mothergoat, i love the hotlink change. Lovely. - farfromsubtl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0His forum is officially crashed. In "DEBUG" mode now.
- farfromsubtl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0And here, you can send him fake orders:
http://jonsmodding.com/page23.html
Be sure to use a realistic name and address, so he can't distinguish real customers from fake ones. - TGMD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What a jackass...
- deadite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Justification? Are you kidding me? These kinds of antics are only justified when there is no other LEGAL alternative to dealing with folks who are breaking the law.
There *are* ways to bring this guy's site down that don't involve acting like a ***** baffoon and attempting to rally a mob. Jesus, talk about overkill.
If you want to rally a mob to bring down a website, how about going after some kiddy porn or terrorist websites? Leave this dork to Microsoft to deal with... their legal department is much more intimidating than your silly script kiddie hacks. - solidmercury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Check out the images on the page now...
dugg. - pronouncable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://mothergoat.net/bio.php
are you guys joking me? halo ce. custom edition, for the pc. - D-Man, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"So... um... yea you can download the maps for free elsewhere, but how are you supposed to get them onto your xbox without a mod chip?
This guy is charging for a service to load the maps onto your unmodded xbox."
I'm probably going to have to make an edit to the post to make this more clear... The Maps are for HaloCE - the guy says he's going to transfer them to Halo 2 on the Xbox - and states he'll charge $20 for the maps, and $25 for the install (read the second paragraph). The original content is MAPS for HaloCE - the guy says he'll put it on as MODS on Xbox (Halo 2). - Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love the hotlinked pics on his page.
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! - sqrlproductions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Site admin at JonsModding.com is currently deleting topics/posts. His feeble attempt at rationalization is posted in http://jonsmodding.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=669
- sqrlproductions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0snap! now, he's egging on the posters. http://jonsmodding.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=687
- G-RaZoR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Heh...... Thats Gay.
- LtJimDangle2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Did some hunting... Think this is a pic of Jon?
http://jonsmodding.com//images/T%20300%20new%20electronic4.jpg - SupaDawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You should see how big the scale of this is. Because of mastergoats integration into the halo and xbox community the site is no getting hammered from every direction. X-S, DIGG, HIH, HBO, HaloMods, Bungie.com, xbox.com, IGN, ebaum.... And i'm sure it goes even deeper than that cross section of the internet.
- kefs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't condone the abuse, but I +digg the story.

In case no one else posted this:
JonsModding@aol.com
--- - ColinCampbell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dugg. I've known Mothergoat for quite some time, and this is just bad.
Try not to be too mean :) - ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice job on the image swap.
The forums are down again! - jesusphreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh, halo.bungie.org got the story wrong and was saying it was for the Xbox.
- SupaDawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"In his order form, he spells "Personal Cheque" as "Personal Check""
It's generally spelt check in the states, and cheque most other places. - PrezKennedy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Digg community is hilarious. We'll gain a name as Internet vigilantes.
- ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Forums are back up again.
- Kamakazi15, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow the forums are being spammed like crazy. I left for an hour and come back to find the thread count went from 400 something to 926
- funkytaco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I know Mothergoat, he is a really cool guy. Someone should post this on Gearbox forums.
If you guys play Halo CE, you should check out HaloSpy CE, an app that I made. - Necromas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The sad thing about this is, someone actually bought an Xbox 360 AND a big mod package from him, obviously this person never has and never will receive what he payed a crap load of money for.
- tont0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0here is a movie my film team put together.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407304/
i play the lead actor. gimme $50 so you can watch it. $25 is for the film. the other $25 is to put it on dvd. email me! - digitalsin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The guy even has the nerve to put this on his Soft Mod page:
For those who have nothing better in their life but report us to Microsoft and try to shut us down this is for you...you won't, you can't, we will prevail, this isnt illegal and I have legal rights to sell the maps, mods, cases, and anything else on this site. People have been trying for the last 3 years and havnt succeeded yet, just give up!!
HE HAS A LEGAL RIGHT TO SELL THE MAPS?? - TGMD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This guy needs a ***** web designer... Animated Gifs, He replaces the cursor, A ***** popup message!! WTF I am honestly surprised this guy even makes money (or used too that is)
- chamblah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Wow.
I wonder how many fellow diggers are SO MAD AT THIS MORON and yet at the EXACT same time have AT LEAST one p2p app open and are downloading something that was never supposed to be free.
That is the definition of hypocritical."
While I agree with the point you are trying to make gmikej, none of those hypothetical diggers are trying to sell what they pull of P2P on a website as their own creation. - fr4ncium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, the news is spreading to YTMND now. Sure hope no one does anything stupid because this theft is so obvious I think it can be dealt with legally without a problem.
- Noloco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love you guys/girls lmao.
- gmikej, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wow.
I wonder how many fellow diggers are SO MAD AT THIS MORON and yet at the EXACT same time have AT LEAST one p2p app open and are downloading something that was never supposed to be free.

A little raged you've missed the point, gmikej?
These maps ARE FREE. The guy is TAKING CREDIT and PUTTING A PRICE ON THEM. Where's the hypocrisy again? - slackerhobo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0While I am not a massive fan of vigilante justice good job changing the leached photo's mothergoat
- digitalsin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Jon seems to think if he keeps his web browser closed and not navigate to his own site, no one else can see it
- evizaer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What a douche.
Digg is the biggest source of internet rubbernecking i've ever encountered.
Did anyone notice the stupid mod he has on his phpBB? It puts "(a cross between a donkey and a horse) " after every instance of "ass" and "( to be in trouble, to have had sex) " after "*****". Loser. - br0ken1128, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
By the way, just playing devil's advocate .. I think the fact that this guy is selling someone elses work is horrible. - br0ken1128, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
So isn't the digg community essentially acting like the RIAA and rushing to the aid of it's artists by attacking this this person who's stolen someone elses work? ;)
Oh... no .. that would be evil, this isn't evil .. it's justice ;)
Let's just sue him, raid his house and take him for about $450 per map - slackerhobo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"I'm starting to think that Digg itself maybe facing 'vigilante justice' soon.
